PDF Document Format Features for Document Management and Distribution

The paper PDF Document Format Features for Document Management and Distribution describes the core of the PDF format for support of the portable documents. If you've heard about PDF or even if you use it already but you don't have a clear understanding what PDF means this paper is for you. The paper provides explanation of frequently used terms used in the DTP, prepress processes and print industry. You'll find out what happened before PDF format was introduced, what the original expectations of the format were and who was the visionary and co-founder of Adobe corporation behind the idea. There are the two main technologies -- Postscript and XML described which are core to the PDF format. In the later part of the document you will find description of PDF versions including their advantages followed by a list of standards based on or using PDF format, not only the official ones but also standards widely accepted. The description of competing Microsoft XPS format is also covered in detail. Second part of the document describes a list of useful features to be considered by a document user as well as a document author. You'll learn how to manage a document, how to navigate through a document, what tools and features are available for document review and team collaboration and how to secure a PDF document. You'll also discover that PDF format can be used for creation of electronic forms and it can also contain other components such as layers, 3D objects, multimedia content and attachments. Last but not least the second part of the paper provides overview of the accessibility features for disabled people. Last part of the paper focuses on practical aspects and guides you through PDF document authoring phase, introduces applications for authoring, management and viewing of PDF documents. There is a brief overview provided about production environment and PDF workflow. It also demonstrates on real life examples how to use PDF not only in Internet, in government institutions, in companies but also at home.
Reducing operational costs of public service by accepting conception of the "paperless office"

The goal of this study was to confirm or to reject author's assumption, that is, within the frame of ongoing reform of public service during the formulation and implementation of information systems in the public service authorities, was aimed not just for functionality (performance, reliability, safeness) of these systems, but at least equally for their operational economization too. In this study, the conception of the paperless office has thought to be the symbol of purposeful, effective and economical system, of which realization is the result of perfect former preparation, inter alia, reengineering (analysis, revision, reduction and optimization) of existing processes. Only the most necessary assortment and quantity of paper documents which circulate within the given system is the evidence of such preparation. By gathering and processing information about the conception of the paperless office, about history of formulation and implementation of information systems in the public service authorities, by studying Theory of bureaucracy, and finally, by processing data from questionnaire itself, filled by public service authorities (bureaus), has author received sufficient quantity of relevant information to reject stated assumption. At the end of the study author introduces set of remedies, of which direct or transposed result should be savings in operational costs of public service.
Use of DMS for paperless office

The theme of this bachelor thesis is the use of DMS for paperless office. In the first part the author deals with what must be taken into account when realization a paperless office. What are the legal aspects associated with operating a paperless office in the Czech Republic and what facility is needed to do. When author writing this bachelor thesis, he has worked with AiP Safe s.r.o., which gave him the analysis of projects. From these analysis is then processed the second part, where is described which agenda is the most often deployed by system SAFE. Then author describes what the initial situation was and what benefits from the use of paperless office for various companies meant. Conclusion of the thesis is devoted to evaluation, if appropriate deployment of DMS increases speed and efficiency of processes and activities, whether there is compliance with legislation and internal rules.
Possible trends in the progress of using ICT in the Accounting

My thesis addresses to matters of rising connectedness of Accounting and Information Technologies. It describes history of forms and techniques used in Accounting and also the possibilities and trends of Applied Informatics used nowadays in this field. The text accents to efforts of making the process of accounting more effective by reducing the cost, improving the quality and by shortening the time it can be done. The part of my thesis also mentions the level of regulation of the techniques used for processing the accounting from the point of view of national norms and also of International standards.
