Proces hodnocení ekologických rizik (EcoRA) je komplexní proces posuzování vlivu lidské činnosti na stav ekosystémů. Průběh tohoto procesu má vztahy nejen k vědeckému hodnocení vlivu stresových faktorů (i když to je samozřejmě ústřední součástí hodnocení rizik), ale také k legislativnímu pozadí ochrany životního prostředí, norem obsahů kontaminantů a dalším legislativním předpisům. Stručný teoretický úvod. Přehled základních pojmů. Základní metodické principy.

The impacts of natural disasters on japanese economy
Platlová, Drahomíra ; Stuchlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Zapletal, Petr (referee)
Japan ranks among the most developed countries in the world, nevertheless it neither can prevent frequent natural disasters nor their consequences. Although the government strives to minimise damage caused, those tragic events influence functioning of the state and its economic performance. The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to find out, to what extent the natural disasters influence Japan and analyse the impacts, which they could have on the economy. The first Chapter encompasses general information, which shows the basics of natural disasters. The second Chapter focuses on Japan, in particular on geographic conditions of the country, alert systems and deals also with comparison of two major earthquakes Kobe and Tohoku.
Climate change and its effect on insurance industry
Landa, Josef ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kiovský, Tomáš (referee)
Climate change is an undisputable fact. However it has not been found out yet with certainty what role does the human activity play and how is climate change influenced by nature cycles. A major role play greenhouse gases trapped in the atmosphere. These gases are linked to various issues, one of them being the global warming. In order to reduce the amount of emitted greenhouse gases, various conferences on climate change took place. During meetings participants have been trying to find a solution for gradual reducing level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Climate change will probably result in more severe natural catastrophes, according to renowned scientists. Most probably there will be a rising occurrence of tropical cyclones, severe droughts or a change in rain precipitation throughout the world. Future predictions are not clear yet and there is still no common agreement among scientists about how the future developments will be. However there is a clear increasing trend in the amount of insured losses, economic losses and the number of catastrophic events, which influences insurance industry. This trend could be caused by more elements, including increasing insurance penetration, increasing concentration of economic values or increasing migration into hazard zones. Climate change can also be partly to blame for the negative developments of insured losses and therefore insurance industry should play a major role in an effort to assess possible future risks in order to decrease its vulnerability to future risk developments. Indemnity rise makes insurance companies and the whole industry more vulnerable to insolvency and thus new ways to diversify risks are being searched for. Cooperation between public and private sector is one of the solutions which help to make almost uninsurable risks insurable. However, there are still risks that are almost unbearable by cooperation of these two sectors. Alternative risk transfer to capital market is one of solutions for mitigating the possibility of huge future losses. In the process of an alternative risk transfer, investors are participating in catastrophe risk development through e.g. catastrophe bonds. Bonds give investors an opportunity to further diversify their portfolio and receive an attractive yield in return to an exposure to a risk of a big catastrophe loss which could result in installment cut, installment annulment or even principal annulment depending on the severity of the catastrophe. Through these risk transfer methods catastrophe losses of huge extents can be spread to more parties, helping to decrease the risk of default of parties and thus increasing the probability of liabilities settlement.
Natural disasters and tools of coverage the damage caused by them on private property
Datková, Veronika ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor) ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis discusses the occurrence and evolution of natural disasters in the world and in the Czech republic. More detail it deals with floods in the Czech republic, the causes of their formation, climate changes and especially tools of coverage the damage caused by them on property of individuals. In addition to prevention, commercial insurance, public and private sources are also considered the instruments of capital market. The interest is focused on barriers of commercial insurance that reduce the level of insurance protection. Finally, this work deals also with storms in the Czech republic.

Pospíšilová, Eliška ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor) ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of floods which hit the Czech Republic during a few last years, and then it describes the commercial insurance which covers the consequences of damages from natural catastrophes. At first, there is the general development of natural disasters all over the world. Next parts include theoretical aspects of floods and functions of flood control. Then, there are mentioned main causes and consequences of floods which hit the Czech Republic from 1997 to 2010. Finally, commercial insurance is mentioned as the most important instrument which help people cover the damages caused by natural catastrophes, mainly floods.
Natural disasters and insurance
Borodenko, Vita ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is the analysis of occurrence of natural disasters in the world and focus on the situation in Czech Republic and the Russian Federation and the possibilities to insure against the risks of natural hazards by insurance products offered by the three largest insurers in the relevant insurance market. The aim of this thesis is to emphasise increasing occurence of natural disasters, which cause great damage and numerous human casualties, as well as the fact that due to frequent weather fluctuations the risks of natural hazards are worse insurable.
Exploitation of the European funds in the process of elimination of effects
ULBRICHTOVÁ, Renata
The aim of my thesis is to analyze the usage of drawing the financial means from the EU funds intended for removing the consequences of floods in South Bohemia in 2002 and the interpretation of the flood protection intervention itself. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part floods are being defined in a common way and we are informed about several water management companies and flood forecast services. It also deals with the causes of the floods from 2002; attention is also given to the flood intervention measurement, mainly from the technical aspect. In the next part we are dealing with a brief presentation of pre-accession funds and then we enlarge upon EU structural funds. In this part we also point to the funds from which it is possible to draw financial means for removing bad consequences of natural catastrophes. The center of my thesis is a detailed analysis of the usage of drawing financial means from the EU. In the end we will assess the fruitfulness of the drawing on financial means from the EU within the individual programs.
