Collective bargaining The subject of this thesis is collective bargaining. Alongside individual labour law, it is a traditional branch of labour law with roots going back to the 19th century. In the Czech Republic, the foundations of modern collective law were laid as early as 1870, when the so- called Coalition Act was adopted. The great flowering of collective labour law then occurred during the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Today, collective bargaining has an irreplaceable place in Czech society. The aim of the thesis is to describe collective bargaining and to reflect on the shortcomings of the Czech legal framework, or to contribute to the general discourse with de lege ferenda considerations. The thesis consists of the introduction, three chapters and the conclusion. The first chapter is devoted to the sources and legal regulation of collective bargaining. In addition to being enshrined in the Czech legal system, including at the constitutional level, the documents of international organisations, in particular the conventions of the International Labour Organisation, have a major influence on collective bargaining. Trade unions organizations in employment relations The thesis deals with trade union organization as the most important representative of employees in collective employment relations. The purpose of this thesis is to describe a task of trade union organization as a legal subject from the view of legal theory, as well as from the view of contemporary legal regulation which has recently been substantially changed due to the recodification of private law. These contemporary amendments change a status of trade union organization as a legal person. These amendments have been followed by many interpretative difficulties. The thesis further describes activities and rights of trade unions as a subject with regard to first, the last amendments in legislation and second, the current jurisprudence. The thesis is divided into five chapters: The first chapter is focused on a position of trade unions in collective labour law, their specificities according to legal theory, historical background of trade association, international and domestic legislation of the right to trade association, position of trade union organization as a legal subject and other aspects such as hierarchy among trade union organizations. The role of unions in promoting gender equality in employment relationships

Diploma thesis is focused on the issue of gender equality in labour relations in order to assess what role the trade unions can or could play in promoting gender equality. The theoretical part introduces the basic concepts of gender issues and outlines the historical development of unionization in the Czech lands. Attention is paid to legislative standards governing the conditions unionization and analysis of legal measures to promote equality in labour relations. The research focuses on analysis of the texts of collective agreements, and analyses semi- structured interviews performed with representatives of trade unions and the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women at Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions.
The Development of Collective Labour Law on the Territory/of the Czech Republic

The Thesis deals with the development of collective labour law in the Czech Republic from the Austro-Hungarian Empire until today. It deals with the concept of collective labour law, including its status in the legal system, with emphasis on collective labour law. The work also introduces the sources of collective labour law and comprehensively pursues the Labour Code and the law on collective bargaining. Main topic, namely the development of collective labour law in the Czech Republic is pursued in detail in the chapters concerning the development of collective labour law to give the Czech Republic, the development of collective labour law in Czechoslovakia and the current legal framework of collective labour law. A substantial part of the work deals with the process of collective bargaining, which forms an integral part of social dialogue. Collective labour disputes such as strikes and lockouts, and their solutions are described in separate chapters. Conclusion of the thesis is devoted to collective labour law in an international context.

Position of union organizations in employment relations

The aim of the degree paper titled "Position of union organizations in employment relations", is to show the position of union organizations as the representatives of employees in the system of labour law in the Czech Republic. The author attempts to clarify the method of originations of associations of citizens and the conception and basic principles of their working. Individual principles are analysed in detail - they include the freedom of association, protection of economic and social rights and interests, legal and economic independence of trade unions. Significant part of this degree paper is dedicated to collective labour law, explaining the basic principles of the discipline of labour law, subjects of the collective labour law and content of the collective employment relations. The content of the collective employment relations is described in detail and includes the right to be informed and to discuss, rights to co- decide, right of control, right of collective bargaining and right to participate in legislative process. The work deals with different functions for Workers and the success of trade unions in enterprises. The first part deals with the characteristics of the market, the definition of trade unions, the history of the trade union movement, the position of trade unions in the Czech Republic. The second part will focus on the position of trade unions in a selected company and subsequent draft resolution. The aim this diploma thesis is to identify the activities of trade unions. Role of Trade Unions in the present. Activities of trade unions to apply economic theory and bring a real trade union influence on economic entity in the Czech Republic. In selected enterprises will be made on the basis of the survey, which will be an evaluation of the success of the trade union in the company. This diploma thesis deals with the issue of trade unions and collective bargaining in the Czech Republic. It discusses the history of trade unions and their regulation. It then examines in more detail the scope and powers of labor unions, collective bargaining, collective agreements and collective disputes. The practical part of this thesis analyses a practical example, a real dispute dealing with calculated establishment of trade unions and based on surveys it draws the advantages and disadvantages of this institute. It includes general public's point of view on the issue of trade unions and their competencies. In the conclusion the author expresses her opinion on the current state of trade unions in the Czech Republic and outlines their future development.
Position of trade unions in labour relations

The topic of my bachelor thesis is the position of trade unions in labor relations. In my work I deal with different powers of trade union, collective bargaining and concluding collective agreements. Further I define the notion of collective and individual disputes. Disputes arising from collective agreements and contract disputes shall be resolved by proceedings before the arbitrator and mediator. Unlike the disputes of collective agreements may be in dispute on the conclusion of collective agreements used as a last resort strike, but only if it was not brought before an arbitrator. The main task of trade unions is the protection of employees.
Relation between Co-operatives and Trade Unions

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the current status of consumer cooperative in relation to the trade union. Furthermore, to establish the importance of the trade union within the cooperative, organization of the trade unions and cooperative involved in its structure, identification of the areas with the key role of the trade union (labour relations etc.) and the position of the trade union in the cooperative in comparison to the situation in multinational chains.
