Sexuality as an ethical issue in services for children and youth

The work focuses on the philosophical and ethical starting points of the preventive services in general. Furthermore, it aims to the activities of workers in low-threshold services for children and youth, in particular how to handle the topic of human sexuality domain of secondary prevention. The method and aim of the thesis is to describe and analyse the autohor's practical experiences in the prevention of risky sexually behaviour. Methods and approaches used in working with clients in low-threshold facilities for children and youth

The thesis deals with the definition of basic terms and outline risk behavior in adolescents. A large part of the thesis is devoted to map the methods and approaches of social work used when working with a client in a low-threshold facility. The aim of the thesis is to find out what methods and approaches are used when working with a client in a low-threshold facility. In the practical part, an expert survey was carried out addressing workers in social services and social workers working in low-threshold facilities in the South Bohemian Region.

A job description of a social worker at low-threshold facility for children and youth

This bachelor's thesis describes the content of work of a social worker in a specific facility NZDM Ostrov Naděje. The work is divided into two chapters. The first chapter deals with a theoretical view of NZDM from a general level. The second chapter compares the theoretical information from the first chapter with the practice in a particular NZDM in the form of an essay. In the end, there is a reflection on whether it is possible for general standards to be applied in practice without much difficulty.

Specifics of social service NZDM in children under 15 years.

The aim of my thesis was to define and describe the particularities and interdisciplinary connections of the social service of low-threshold facilities for children and youth (hereinafter NZDM) as well as evaluate their significance when working with children and youth at the low-threshold level. NZDM is a rather new social service operating in social prevention area. Since being incorporated into the social services´ system in compliance with Act No.108/2006 Coll. which has clearly specified the character and activities of NZDM service, it has been facing misunderstanding and questioning of its role and content both from the professionals and lay people. This regards namely the pedagogical aspect of the service as such, there has been an effort to reduce it, which hinders the NZDM workers´ activity and brings existential and financial insecurity. In contrast to other social services, NZDM service must therefore defend its position in the social services´ system and argue for its substance and sense. This paper also aims at this line of reasoning. The thesis is divided into four chapters where essential characteristics of the service are first presented as well as its roots and important milestones in its development including the insight into the multi-layered quality and particularities of NZDM. The second chapter covers the area of developmental psychology, or more precisely the target group of NZDM in the context of chosen developmental characteristics. The third chapter presents interdisciplinary connections in pedagogy, thus giving evidence of the significance of upbringing and education in NZDM. In the closing part of the paper, there is an attempt of the author to reflect the rigours and paradoxes in this environment, to defend the role of free-time activities and to draw attention to the risks related to narrowed and reduced approach to NZDM service.

I also describe the social service and low-threshold facilities. In chapter 3, I describe for which clients the device is intended, function and goals of this device. In the fourth chapter, the needs of children are described. The diploma thesis called The issue of confidentality and notification obligation in the low-threshold center for children and youth and in the authority of social and legal protection of the children deals with the conflict of mandatory confidentiality and notification obligation and its resolution. Respectively by looking at the issue by individual social workers in various social institutions. These are social workers from low- threshold centers for children and youth and social workers from authorities for social and legal protection of children. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical part and an empirical part. The whole work contains ten chapters and subchapters. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out whether social workers in low- threshold centers for children and youth and in authorities for social and legal protection for children resolve the conflict of mandatory confidentiality and notification obligation by a more ethical or legal point of view.
