The aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the treatment in the diagnosis of the postural syndrome using McKenzie method. In the theoretical part are mentioned influences on the corrext body posture. For evaluation was used subjective assesment of the probands and the diagnostic part of the expert and information system of Computer Kinesiology. There was improvement in the output examination of 5 probands in the segment L5 and improvement in the output examination of 4 probands in the segment L4. All probands subjectively evaluate the therapy positively.

The thesis is composed in a recherche form and is divided into general and special part. The general part of the thesis deals with the overview of vertebrogenic diseases and the possibilities of their treatment. It describes the prevalence, etiology and individual structural and functional causes of vertebrogenic diseases. In the following chapters, the individual treatment options are summarized, and the physiotherapeutic concepts and methods frequently used are described. The special part based on systematic recherche explores the efficacy of the McKenzie method in the treatment of patients in the acute, subacute and chronic phases of lower back pain and the effect of the method on...
Using the McKenzie method for the herniated intervertebral disc in the lumbar region
OULICKÁ, Dominika
This bachelor thesis deals with utilization of McKenzie method for herniated intervertebral disk in the lumbar region of back as this disease is a common problem nowadays. Its aim is diagnostics of vertebrogenic disorders, characteristic of McKenzie method and its use during therapy and prevention of herniation intervertebral disk in the lumbar region of back. In the theoretical part I have described basic relevant knowledge about spine anatomy including ligaments, muscles and nerves of lumbar region. Also, I have focused on spine pathologies and pain. The practical part consists of McKenzie method characteristic with a description of single syndromes including their treatment and prevention. Furthermore, there are listed physical examinations and set of exercises according to McKenzie method. These findings and its efficiency are examined in three cases reports. The cases reports are performed with the aid of specific protocols which are fundamentally used by McKenzie method experts during assessment examination and controlling therapies. Significant asset of the thesis is its actualization regarding current knowledge of McKenzie method as the only one from all available dissertations. In the publicly accessible academic literature, there are outdated facts which are further copied to other theses. This thesis is written under surveillance of authorized McKenzie method specialist Mgr. Lucie Sucha Cert. MDT, who professionally conducted me and advised me on description and use of the most up-to-date information about McKenzie method in this thesis, which can be inspiration for other physiotherapists who are interested in this method. Even though, the research sample is not significant, it concludes that the method is 100% effective in resolving patients symptoms in a very short time. Therefore, patients with less severe diagnosis could be cured even more rapidly. The essence is a regular and proper autotherapy. Such results would not be achieved without it.
