This bachelor thesis compiles of a brief history of civil aviation in the period 1918 - 1950. Attention is paid to all the major events that directly influenced the development of, not only aircraft, but also the flying boats and airships. Technological progress and direction in development of flying equipment is marginally described.
The relationship of religion and fantasy: The influence of Christianity on the fictional religion in the fantasy genre

The aim of this thesis is to identify and analyse the relationship between religion, specifically Christianity, and the genre of fantasy, through an in-depth discursive analysis of these themes on a sample of selected works of post WWII fantasy. It primarily focuses on a contrastive comparison of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and Donaldson's The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever. The consecutive chapters analyse these works firstly in terms of content, meaning the utilization of the structure of biblical theology in the fictional religions, or specific manifestations of Christian values, beliefs and dogmas in the texts. Secondly, in terms of form of the narrative, specifically the presence or absence of worship, and utilization of Christianity in the language of worship. The thesis identifies the template of a fantasy work created with Christian values in mind provided by Tolkien and the different approaches of Martin and Donaldson, who derivate from this template to some degree. Diploma thesis Semiotic analysis of Martin Scorsese's films focusing on Raging bull and The Wolf of Wall Street aims to capture unique and original signs in both films mentioned. Through semiotic analysis it examines key elements of film language - structure, means of expression in film and composition. The thesis also focuses on capturing director's characteristic filmmaking techniques and how these techniques and elements affect the viewer. At the same time it examines in detail various aspects of the director's films and film processing in both of them. It is also focusing on description of unique and specific items of Scorsese's work and analyze them in the context of the two works. The final part explains the cause of the original concept of author's films and his great success and popularity not only among film fans.

The analysis of tourism in Martin

The bachelor thesis analyzes the potential of tourism in the city of Martin. The first chapter defines the basic theoretical concepts related to the following part of analysis, in the following second chapter the theoretical knowledge is applied to analyze and evaluate the conditions for tourism development in the city of Martin. This chapter also characterizes basic forms of tourism which are able to be realized in the city. Instruments of the analysis are the components of primary and secondary supply of tourism, attendance statistics and a detailed SWOT analysis, which aims to summarize all the observed facts. The last chapter focuses on presenting activities in the city supporting the development of tourism.
