Warning System for Cars
Rusnačko, Ivan ; Henzl, Martin (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on usability of GPS modul as a warning system. Fitkit was chosen for the implementation of the given system. First part of thesis is focused on theory of GPS technology and NMEA protocol. Then, the Fitkit is analysed and underlying communication with GPS module. Also, there is an desktop application that fills up FitKit with points of interests. The implementation part of thesis is ended up with results of testing. Finally, there is a short proposal of possible extension of this thesis.
Embedded Transmitter and Receiver Firmware for Wireless Communication in SRD Band
Vomáčka, Martin ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis analyzes wireless communication in range of unlicensed ISM band. The aim was to design and implement a transmitter and reciever firmware for utilization in minor custom projects. Wireless communication was secured by Aurel modules operating in the 868 MHz SRD band. The transmitter and the receiver are controlled by MSP430 microcontroller mounted on the FITkit laboratory equipment.
Microcomputer in Ultramicro Aircraft/Helicopter
Široký, Adam ; Přibyl, Bronislav (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of embedded system for ultra light airplanes and helicopters. The aim is to suggest, make and test the system with help of which it would be possible to take notes of a flight data set. The set is formed by GPS coordinates, altitude, speed and leans in both axes. The base of the system is created on microcontroller of the MSP430 family by Texas Instruments. A reader will be offered the used hardware, the system suggestion, its realization, the way of function verification and the possibility of using of the suggested system.
Prototype of Outdoor Computer on the FITkit Platform
Röhrich, Pavel ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Novotný, Tomáš (advisor)
In this thesis is described prototype, which is built on a platform FITkit and is involved in the solderless breadboard. The paper describes how to connect and communication with MSP430 microcontrollers, GPS module, display, MMC card and a temperature sensor. The document also describes a prototype implementation. At the end of the document is dealt with possible extension.
FITkit Platform Testing
Filip, Tomáš ; Straka, Martin (referee) ; Škarvada, Jaroslav (advisor)
The FITkit platform incorporates an embedded system which enables students to create and implement complex designs not only of software projects but also of hardware projects or complete applications. So it is very important to invent and implement methods that can be used for testing the system during its whole life cycle. This thesis is engaged in testing the FITkit. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to familiarizing with the FITkit and its whole architecture. Terminology description and analysis of the dilemmas in testing can be found in the next part of the thesis. Further follows description of methods and procedures for testing the FITkit platform. A part of the thesis is a design of a testing application and description of its practical realization.
GPS and Accelerometer Based Speedometer
Novotný, Tomáš ; Fiala, Jiří (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design of speedometer for sportsmen, which is able to display current speed and to record a trip. The proposed parts are small enough. That's why sportsman won't be bothered much. The GPS is used for measurement of speed and to determine position. A strip, which consists of LED diodes, is used for speed displaying. The strip is situated in a sportsman's glasses. A trip is recorded to a MultiMediaCard. The FAT file system is used on the memory card.
Family Independent Microcontroller Programming Library
Konečný, Ondřej ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This project describes a concept of a library architecture that will enable to hide platform-specific behaviour of different MCUs under an united API that will enable the developers to develop portable applications. After a short summary of the current situation, the report describes the main principles of the library-to-be followed by definitions of behaviour of each module that can be controlled using the library. Then this report describes techniques used in the implementation and platform specifics. In the conclusion there is an idea of the direction in which the development could continue.
Advanced Simulator of MSP430 Microcontrollers
Kaluža, Jan ; Bidlo, Michal (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this master's thesis is to provide an introduction to MSP430 microcontrollers and to design a simulator of these microcontrollers, focusing on easy implementation of extensions using peripherals. After a short introduction, the MSP430 microcontrollers are briefly described, including their internal peripherals and the formats used to store the binary executable code. The thesis continues with a  description of discrete event simulation using the DEVS formalism. Based on previous chapters, the new simulator (consisting of a simulation core, graphical user interface and library for MSP430 microcontroller simulation)  is designed and implemented. The implementation is tested by comparison with real microcontroller and in the end of the thesis, there is a summary and evaluation of the implemented simulator.
Bluetooth GPS Logger
Vymětal, Jan ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of autonomous low-consumption device which is logging dates from external GPS throught Bluetooth serial transfering module.
Wireless Communication in Fire Sport
Pelka, Tomáš ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work describes the design of wireless timer for fire sport disciplines. Its aim is to replace long wires with wireless communication while preserving equal or better reliability. Important part is the need for clock synchronization between wireless modules. Related topic is selection of suitable synchronization algorithm and communication protocol. The proposed system was realized in form of prototype using Texas Instruments's development platform LaunchPad EXP 430 FR4133 and wireless modules with Texas Instruments's chip CC1101. Parameters of designed system (especially the accuracy of time synchronization and measurement) were verified in laboratory.
