Work with Texts of Liberec Region Authors on the Lower Secondary School
Čvančarová, Barbora ; Hník, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hausenblas, Ondřej (referee)
Résumé It is eight years ago when a new system of curriculum documents was approved and when teachers were given opportunity of their own choice in lesson planning and lesson management. Unfortunately, this change in approach to education cannot be seen in all teachers. In lessons, there is still a method of work with texts when a teacher requires only one particular respond to his question "What did the author want to express in the text?" and it is the respond he personally thinks is correct. In that case pupils are not motivated suitably to think about the text and to discuss it. They are impoverished in more intensive experiences from the text and they also miss follow-up activities which might encourage their interest in the work, the author and reading generally. Due to these reasons projects presented in this thesis aroused. This work offers to teachers from basic schools in Liberec area ready-made projects which relate thematically to Liberec region because authors of the texts act in this region. All the projects contain methodology instructions, which means a summarizing table (time requirement of activities, aids, methods), a step-by-step procedure instruction, texts to be worked with and also ready- made worksheets. Authors and texts are chosen in a way that pupils can be introduced to a variety...
Argo, fetch! The history of dog training (cynology) in Liberec region after 1945
Cejpová, Irena ; Hlaváček, Jiří (advisor) ; Mücke, Pavel (referee)
The main topic of the thesis is a description of the transformation of the Sport Cynology during the second half of the 20th century in the Liberec region. The sport is based on cooperation between people and dogs. This hobby belongs to the most popular freetime activities in the Czech Republic, even though there is not enough information in Czechoslovak historiography. The aim of the thesis consists in a characterization of development of the Sport Cynology in the era of State Socialism in Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 20th century. I focus on a historical progress of the sport and its significant events, which were crucial for the next development of the sport activity. In the context of the Sport Cynology, "The Association for Cooperation with the Army" is mentioned because Czechoslovak cynology had to become a part of the association in 1953. In the first section of the paper, focused on history of the cynology, I use archival materials, contemporary magazines and information got from interviews with narrators. I apply qualitative research and its specific methods such as analysis of documents and thematically oriented biographical narratives. Key words: Sport Cynology, State Socialism, Liberec region, The Association for Cooperation with the Army, Contemporary History, Oral History.
Geographical Aspects of Activities of Nongovernmental Organizations and Civic Initiatives in Czechia - Local and Regional Level in the Case of Liberec Region
Vogt, David ; Tomeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Čermák, Daniel (referee) ; Kopeček, Vincenc (referee)
This dissertation thesis is trying to find and apply a political-geographical approach to the study of political activities of the civil society. At first, it searches it theoretically, for example on the bases of theories of democracy, relations among the state and civil society, social capital etc. It stresses an importance of an active role of a citizen as an actor in liberal democracy, in a complex society, but also a conflictful character or forms of a part of civil society, which, by its public control, finally contributes to strengthening and maintaining of democracy. It also admits a possible risk of conflict with representative democracy. The thesis tends towards those approaches which investigate the relationship of the civil society with the state and the commercial sphere, in which conflicts occur in the (public) space and about the space. Thereafter, the issue is studied empirically on the example of local and regional level in the Liberec Region, where impacts of a hierarchical level, a distance from the centre, the territory resettled after the Second World War and other possible geographical influencing factors. As the data source about the organisations and activities of the civil society the thesis uses namely these three items: (i) data from the Register of Economical Subjects...
