1 Current issues of international carriage by air Abstract The topic of this diploma thesis is Current issues of international carriage by air. Certainly, many interesting legal topics could be found within this theme, however the author chose to focus specifically on the concrete issue of air carrier liability for passenger injuries pursuant to Article 17 of Warsaw Convention and Article 17 (1) of the Montreal Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter presents the legal framework for the regulation of international private aviation law. The individual legal sources of the Warsaw System and the Montreal Convention, their scope and relations between these sources and the law of the European Union are presented. The second chapter deals in general with the liability of the air carrier under the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions. It defines the types of air carrier's liability covered by these conventions, the limits of air carrier's liability and the procedural aspects of the recovery of claims under the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions. Measures of the EU in the area of air traffic facilitiating the free movement of persons, goods and services - the Single European Sky

This diploma thesis is dedicated to the European Commission's project known under the name Single European Sky which pursues an objective to reorganize the current European airspace structure for the more efficient provision of air navigation services purposes. As an introduction, the author sets himself the goal to acquaint the reader with relevant international organizations in the field of civil aviation, introduce him in a general way into the provision of air navigation services' issues, including the situations when these services are being provided across the national boundaries. Following this general reading, the thesis fluently moves on to its main subject matter which is the Single European Sky initiative. An attention is focused on the state of European airspace before the initiative has been launched as well as the preparatory works which resulted in the adoption of the first SES legislative package. The following chapter presents the basic legal framework regulating the Single European Sky as amended by the adoption of the second legislative package. Principal part of the thesis is comprised in the next chapter dealing with the process of project's implementation. Legal aspects of operation of unmanned aerial vehicles

Unmanned aircrafts represent one of the fastest growing technologies of the last years. Although historically not completely unknown, only recently have they acquired the long-deserved attention. However, it focuses almost exclusively on their use in combat operations, whereas their capabilities in civilian sphere remain relatively unexplored. Analysis of these abilities is the main focus of this thesis, which describes and analyses current applicable legislation, points out different issues of both its interpretation and application and tries to offer solutions. This thesis is divided into 4 chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the introduction to this topic, including history of unmanned aircrafts and clarification of the term unmanned aircraft itself. Then it moves on to describe the possible classification of unmanned aircrafts and the terminology used, which remains unsettled even to this day. The main aim of this is to try to help the reader to find his way in this complicated area. The second chapter includes the analysis of the applicable legislation in the Czech republic, starting with the general approach and then continuing with special emphasis on particular issues, such as operating limitations of unmanned aircrafts in certain areas or liability of aircraft operators...
