I went for a walk…
Drbalová, Eva ; Štěpánová, Vanda (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The ancient idea of feeling something beyond us is unquenchable. However, it takes on different forms that are related to the time. In a hectic fast-moving world interwoven with the traffic of means of transport, modern technologies and their constant flow, we are looking for a quiet refuge where time slows down. A place that accepts us as we are. That fulfills our spiritual needs. The diploma thesis responds to this current situation and presents a conceptual vision for the use of an abandoned monastery complex in the center of Brno for a modern spiritual experience. It thus follows on from a pre-diploma project that dealt with contemporary manifestations of spirituality and the spaces associated with it. The proposal is based on the current state of the monastery, scarred by history, and creates a space for meetings. With others, or with some "One". It is based on old certainties such as the rising and setting of the Sun, the alternation of day and night, the symbol of the circle.
Math textbooks for elementary schools and their readiness for distance learning
BRŮŽKOVÁ, Nikola
The number of changes that accompany the current Czech school system is a response for global social and pandemic changes and it is focused on methods of pupils´ education. New educational trends are linked to a requirement to acquire key competences as a basis for lifelong learning with a change of educational content, which are means of a versatile development of a child´s personality, not just a goal. In this context, we also talk about distance learning regarding the transformation of educational content which is addressed in the thesis. The thesis deals with issues and critical points of distance as well as face-to-face learning of geometry. Interactive materials were created, that could help the students to overcome these critical points. At the end of the thesis, a reflection obtained from teachers and students, who worked with the mentioned materials, is attached.
Abstract Tendencies in Czech Art throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
LAZÁRKOVÁ, Simona
The diploma thesis named ´Abstract Tendencies in Czech Art in the 1970s and 80s´ is processed in both, a theoretical and a creative, practical parts. The theoretical part presents abstract tendencies in Czech art during the 1970s and 80s representing the work of artists creating pieces of a ball and a geometrical shape of a circle in both, surface as well as spacial creation. The works of Václav Boštík, Stanislav Kolíbal, Hugo Demartini, Vladimír Škoda and Woody Vasulka are presented and emphasized. The practical part is presented in the form of a graphic creation including a circular theme with a subsequent area solution in gypsum. Everything is accompanied by drawing studies, graphic examinations and gypsum castings of circular objects.

The bachelor thesis is a continuation of an architectural study, which I completed in the third semester of my bachelor studies in the academic year of 2018/2019. The task was to design modern housing on the edge of the city in Brno, Líšeň. The corner plot is defined by Ondráčkova and Zlámanky Streets. The content of this thesis is to develop the architectural study into documentation for permission to construct and documents for project completion. Function of the building is housing in four apartments within three above-ground stories and a basement story including technical facilities (underground parking, cellars, utility room, storeroom, wheeled-storage room). External areas are partially added to the apartments and partially create common space. The intention is to design modern, above standard housing
Nanotechnology educational and research center (NanoArch)
Hamdanieh, Livine ; Boleslavská, Yvona (referee) ; Žalmanová, Petra (advisor)
„Science, the Never-Ending Quest.“ The diploma thesis deals with a proposal of science center aimed at promoting science and education in the field of nanotechnology. The aim of the project is to design a science center that will complement the existing building complex of CEITEC Nano BUT but also through its architectural expression represent the value of such institution and enable it to stand out among the existing buildings, allowing it to become the new center „brain“ of the complex. Nanotechnology represents a significant sphere of the scientific world that holds big potential for the future in various industries including architecture and building construction. The aim of the diploma thesis is thus not only to design new science center but also to raise awarness of nanotechnolgy. The design proposal is based on simple geometric shape - circle which is segmented into three parts. Logical shape of circle complements the already existing complex and becomes the new center point "brain" of the whole complex. The symbol of infinity that circle and Mobius strip represent is associated with the never ending scientific research as the science itself is at the end nothing but a "never ending quest".

The topic of the thesis is the proposal of a pilgrimage site in the area of the source of the spring Svatá Voda near Malenovice - Zlín. The building is located on the nearest top site near the existing spring and it dominates its surroundings. The design is based on a circle symbolizing eternity, harmony - Christianity surrounding the Paradise yard. This ring is intersected by four shards that represent disruption of harmony - humanity. These two types of masses are contrasting, distinguished by both shape and material. There is a church in the largest shard, in the smaller shards there are other smaller chapel or individual prayer rooms. In the ring, which is broken into fragments, there are located rooms like a reception, area of the church with, restaurant and technical facilities, non-profit offices that manage the area, together with a therapist's office. There are rooms with accommodation, classrooms and workshops for retreats as well.
The Brownfields solutions within the Czech Republic - Tepna Nachod
Pitáková, Martina ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with urban study for the central part of the town of Náchod, located in the proximity of the town’s historic core. The relief of the landscape lends distinctiveness to the whole area. This fact was taken into consideration when elaborating the urban concept which orientates the design towards the centre and the castle. The design is formed by three pillars – functions: square – culture, park – relax and housing. As regards the territory in question, Náchod has a great potential. My attempt was to understand it and create an area in the town centre which would have significant unified city-forming character, and which would enhance the core – the centre of the town.
The Viewing Tower in Brdy
Kováčová, Kristýna ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The subjekt of this thesis is a design of a viewing tower located in the area of Brdy. The structure has been created as a 3D model, the internal forces have been calculated with the use o finite element method in a structural engineering software Scia Engineer 15.1. Based on the knowledge of theses forces the design of the structural systems has been done. The materials used on this construction are glued laminated timber and steel. The height of the tower is 25,725 m. The floor plan is a shape of a circle and fluctuating smaller with the gaining height. The main structural systém consists of 8 curved posts which are radiály situated on the circular floor plan. The tower has 3 observational platforms.
