Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of arthrosis patient after total knee replacement

Title: A Case study of physiotherapy treatment of arthrosis patient after total knee replacement. Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to review the rehabilitation of a patient after total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis. It is divided into two parts theoretical part review and describe the anatomical structure of the knee, kinesiology, biomechanics and development and disease. The practical part aims to describe the examination procedures, therapy implementations and conclusion for the patient in relation to the given diagnose. Clinical findings: This case study reviews the conditions of a 50 years old patient after a total knee replacement. The patient had limited mobility and restricted joints around the operated side. There right knee has a swelling, change of skin colour, temperature and a scar. Methods: All the used procedures were based on the literature given thought by the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: patient was committed to the therapeutic sessions, the patient case progressed positively with the pain, range of motion and muscle imbalance for the knee joints. The case study of the physiotherapeutic care of a patient with total endoprothesis of a knee joint

Title: The case study of the physiotherapeutic care of a patient with total endoprothesis of a knee joint Aim: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is the processing of a case study of the physiotherapeutic care of a patient after total knee replacement during an internship in the ÚVN hospital. Summary: This thesis is divided into general and special part. The general part sums up anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint. Apart from that, there is some information about gonarthrosis, indications and contraindications towards total endoprothesis of the knee joint. Last but not least we look at the specifications of rehabilitation regarding this diagnosis and used physiotherapeutic methods. The objective of the special part is a case study of the patient. It consists of complex kinesiologic evaluation, therapies during the patiens stay and the outcomes of the rehabilitation. Milan Šebek Opponent: Name of the bachelor thesis: Physiotherapy in Patients after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury of a Knee Joint Focusing on the Method InternalBraceTM Abstract: The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of physiotherapy after injury of the anterior cruciate ligament of a knee joint. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the anatomy and kinesiology of the knee joint and its structures, as well as the way of injury of the anterior cruciate ligament. The following are the most common solutions of LCA rupture (graft from ligamentum patelae and m. Semitendidosus and m. Gracilis) and subsequent physiotherapy. There is also an innovative method, the InternalBraceTM method, using FiberTape® knitted fiber. In the practical part, case reports of three patients after the operation using InternalBraceTM system are processed. Physiotherapeutic intervention was, in two patients in the acute phase, conducted according to the guidelines by method makers for seven weeks. Its aim was to verify the used methodology of rehabilitation in practice. In a third patient, the difficulties that may arise are described. Objectification of Postural Stability by Patients with Musculoskeletal Disorders

This bachelor thesis consisting of the theoretical and practical part deals with physiotherapy after a rupture of an anterior cruciate ligament and its subsequent influence on postural stability. The first part of the theoretical thesis consists of explanation of term posture, its development, function and disorders and the second part of the theoretical thesis consists of the anatomy and knee joint kinesiology, information on anterior cruciate ligament injury, treatment possibilities and physiotherapy possibilities. The practical part is made by means of case history where the qualitative research is applied. It consists of initial kinesiological and posturographic examination, therapy suggestion, therapy implementation and final kinesiological and posturographic examination. The probands underwent the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament 6-8 months prior to the initial kinesiological examination by means of patellar autograft. Both probands suffered the injury when doing sport, namely skiing and football. I focused on a knee joint stabilisation by means of the DNS method, exercise with TRX Suspension Trainer and BOSU?, deep stabilisation system activation by means of the DNS method, the influencing of soft tissues and improving of afference of lower limbs by means of sensorimotor stimulation and PNF method. The therapy lasted for 8 weeks. Using the modern physiotherapeutical method resulted in eliminating basic, limiting limitations which are consequent upon the injury of the anterior cruciate ligament. We are able to confirm the improvement of the results of kinesiological and posturographic examination after the evaluation of the initial examination. The thesis may serve as an educational material for physiotherapy education and for non-professional public as well. Key

Title: Case study of Physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient after implantation of total knee joint replacement Objectives: The aim of this work was to elaborate a case report of a patient with a knee joint replacement, find theoretical background for this diagnosis and apply acquired knowledge in therapy. Methods: The work consists of a theoretical and a special part. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy and kinesiology of the knee joint, osteoarthritis and its treatment, an implantation of a total knee replacement as a surgical method of osteoarthritis treatment, rehabilitation after the implantation of the total knee endoprosthesis and appropriate physiotherapeutic techniques during patient's care after the implantation. A special part is elaborated in the form of a case study of a patient after an implantation of a total knee replacement. It consists of anamnesis, an entry kinesiological examination, records of therapeutic units, an outcome kinesiological examination and an evaluation of the effect of the therapy. Results: During the therapies designed according to the acquired knowledge from the theoretical part of the thesis, the patient's health status was improved. Michaela Stupková Year of defense: 2019 Objectives: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the theoretical knowledge about the knee joint, its anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics and traumatology, focusing on the anterior cruciate ligament. Then to introduce the possibilities of treatment of its rupture and physiotherapeutic care after surgery. The goal of the practical part is to propose the therapeutically plan for patient with this diagnosis, monitoring and evaluating the effect of the therapy. Method: This bachelor thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part is concerned with theoretical knowledge about the knee joint. The second part contains entry and leaving examination of a patient and a description of therapeutic units. This part was created during bachelor practice in the hospital in Kladno. Results: Since the condition of the patient has significantly improved during the therapies, I conclude that the physiotherapeutic methods were effective. Case Study of patient After right knee replacement

Abstracts Title: Case Study of patient After right knee replacement. Goals: The aim of this thesis is to discuss the rehabilitation of patient after replacing the right knee joint and a basic general outlook of the total knee replacement surgery. Methods: Methods used in this study are all based on the literature given by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Including post isometric relaxation, joint mobilisation, and soft tissue techniques according to Lewit, length and strength measurements according to Kendall. Results: After 8 therapy sessions results of therapy were in strengthen week muscles, increasing ROM in the Knee joint and reduction of tonicity in hypertonic muscles.
