Losses of capacitor run induction motor
Štaffa, Jiří ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
This project deals with increasing efficiency of one phase induction motor with permanent split capacitor. We can whole thesis divide into two parts, the first one is basic and the second is interested in analysis and measurement. First part handles with construction of single phase induction motor, explanation of function principle, start and run of motor. Calculating of efficiency including type of losses, which reduce efficiency. Second part concerns analysis losses including moment load characteristic, motor measurement while rotor is locked, with no load operation, measuring mechanical and additional losses. Further there will be measured useful values for creation model for simulation (reactance of windings etc.). Than will be the model created in ANSYS Maxwell with module RMxprt. After analytic calculation in RMxprt and using Finite Element Method (FEM) load characteristics will be compared together. This comparison gives us information about accuracy of model for simulation. Simulation and measurement will be carried out on another engine with high quality ferromagnetic material used for magnetic circuit of motor. Further will be done simulation of motor with modifications shown in previous chapter for high efficiency.

The master's thesis deals and introduces a single-phase inductions machines, the principle of operation, types of design and operating conditions. This thesis includes analysis of individual losses in the machine and reduce the possibility of different ways. After a theoretical proposal for reducing losses are measured by mass-produced single-phase induction machine. Further machine modifications proposed for reducing losses in the stator windings and designed a prototype machine with the adjustment of the magnetic circuit to reduce iron losses made by ATAS elektromotory Nachod a.s. The results are supplemented by a simulation using software Maxwell RMxprt and finite element method (FEM). Finally, they are compared to each machines modifications mainly in terms of energy consumption.
Design and analysis of single-phase induction machine
Souček, Jiří ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design issues of single-phase induction motors. The content is divided into several basic parts. The first chapter deals with the principle function of single-phase induction motors. In particular, the asymmetry of these machines discussed with regard to the importance of connecting the auxiliary stage and its character. The following part is devoted to the analytical calculation of specific single-phase two-pole motor. I analyzed two-pole motor because at that time there were not available data for six-pole motor from Siemens. The calculation is performed according to the literature, and the resulting parameters are then compared with the model of this motor created by RMxprt. There is model of six-pole induction motor created by Ansoft/Maxwell in third part. This model shows the influence of skew of the rotor slots on the torque of machine. Then I performed measurement of this motor and analyzed of results in the last part.

Binek, Martin ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis analyses the impact of core length on efficiency of a single phase induction machine with a run capacitor in the auxiliary winding. The whole thesis can be divided into two parts. The first part of the thesis includes general knowledge concerning single phase induction machines and technical base for its analytical calculation. The second part works with the actual technical documentation of a motor. This part includes creation of the motor model in RMxprt module, analytical calculation for verifying the motor properties and laboratory measurement, where the results are primarily compared to RMxprt simulation as well as to the analytical calculation, mainly from the efficiency perspective.

Single phase induction motor start optimization
Glogar, Jaroslav ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of capacitors on a start of a single phase induction machine and start optimization. The first two chapters refer to a theoretical part of the issue, describing construction, the function principle, the torque characteristic. Also used types are named there, a special emphasis is given to a split phase induction motor with the capacitor and auxiliary winding. It also describes the influence of the capacitor to a breakaway torque. The next part studies the analysis of the concrete machine by the laboratory measuring. Results of measured windings resistance, rated operation, load characteristic, mechanical losses and locked-rotor test are stated here. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to an optimization of wiring auxiliary winding, especially for breakaway torque. It is based on creating models in program ANSYS Maxwell, where an analytical calculation in module RMxprt and a calculation per finite element method (FEM) is realised. Three models are demonstrated here. The first one is identical with the measured machine, so with the permanent split capacitor. That model is created to be compared with the measuring. Another model has a capacitor start, and the last one has two capacitors – for start and run. For the last model the rotor cage with a reduced resistance of winding is used.
Consequences of increasing the efficiency of small motors.
Buchta, Martin ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Hájek, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the consequences of increasing the efficiency of small asynchronous motors up to 1kW. This work is written in response to ever-increasing demands on minimal efficiency for asynchronous engines, whether through European Union legislation or just competition between manufacturers. The aim of the thesis is therefore to evaluate measures to increase efficiency. The evaluation refers to the consumption of the active material and the weight of the individual treatments. For the evaluation itself, it was necessary to first study the final papers written at this faculty concerning the efficiency of small asynchronous motors. After studying these works, it was necessary to select those measures which, with their minor costs, are least demanding, lead to an increase in efficiency of at least 1% and also to compare these measures with each other. The asynchronous engine of ATAS a.s. with a power of 600W. Three measures to improve efficiency were selected for this engine, mainly related to the diameters of the winding conductor used, the change in the number of threads, and, possibly, the extension of the length of the circuit. These three measures made a rough financial analysis of the price for active material. The prices of active material were found from manufacturers or suppliers.
