Focus on Audit Services in the Czech Republic in the Selected Small Audit Companies

In this thesis I deal with the analysis of current problems on the market of auditing services in the Czech Republic, with suggestions for their solution. The theoretical part contents analysis of the historical context of the audit, the legal regulation, e. g. International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), Czech Act on Auditors and link to other laws. This part also contents analysis of the market of auditing services focusing on small auditing companies and also description on problems connected with entering the audit profession and consequently the problems related to market regulation, evaluation and quality control of the provided auditing services. Case studies in the practical part reflects the most important problems of small auditing companies. This will be complemented by a questionnaire survey that should reveal the different points of view of the audited company, accountant and auditor on key audit issues.

Tests caried out in audit

The aim of the diploma thesis "Tests carried out in audit" is evaluation of the general purpose financial statements performed by the asistent auditor in the trainee program. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts of the auditing profession, defines the person authorized to perform audit activities, their rights and obligations. As well it analyses each phase of the audit, characterize the audit process and analyze the audit risk, the concept of materiality and the substantive tests. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of selected audit procedures in the basic part of the General purpose financial statements (tangible assets, accounts receivable, payroll, cash and cash equivalents).

The goal of this thesis is to describe both of the types of audit in their historical context, show their legal regulation, and explain each step of the audit process. The last chapter compares both of the professions and focuses on their possible cooperation. First from the theoretical point of view with references to the ISA and then analyses the situation among Czech auditors.

Diploma thesis is focused on analysis of selected audit procedures. Theoretical definition of conditions for statutory audit and necessary requirements according to standards on auditing are featured in the thesis. It analyses audit risks and the concept of materiality during audit. Descriptions of audit procedures are focused on cash and cash equivalents, property, payroll expenses, equity, accounts receivable, accounts payable and physical inventory inspection.

Aplikace Mezinárodních auditorských standardů v auditorské praxi ČR

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na současnou problematiku auditu účetní závěrky v českém prostředí. Cílem práce je, na základě získaných poznatků o auditorských postupech a komplexním procesu auditu, identifikovat významné změny, nové postupy a požadavky při provádění auditu po přijetí Mezinárodních auditorských standardů jako základních profesních předpisů auditorské praxe v České republice. Práci tvoří tři věcně ucelené části, v první části je pojednáno o původu auditorské profese, jejím vývoji v celosvětovém aspektu a následně také v České republice, pojetí a významu auditu, profesní legislativě a organizaci a profesních předpisech. Druhá část práce se zabývá detailními postupy auditorské společnosti při provádění auditu, ve kterých jsou aplikovány požadavky Mezinárodních auditorských standardů. V závěrečné části práce jsou uvedeny identifikované významné změny v přístupu a procedurách auditorské společnosti vyplývající z aplikace uvedených standardů.
