Influence of filters on running of metal flow
Makalouš, Jakub ; Veverka, Aleš (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
This study deals with influence of filters on running of aluminum metal flow. The main objective was to describe hydraulic resistances of assorted filters and running of silting filters by inclusions. Theoretical part generally describes filtration process and also filtration from the point of view of aluminum alloys and the most important characteristics of each type of alumina inclusions. Experimental part deals with flow rate tests, influence of filters on gassiness of melt and metallographic analysis. It was find out, that filter GEPHAL made minimal hydraulic resistance, on the other hand ceramic foam filters type LD made the maximal hydraulic resistance. It is necessary to reduce filtration surface for study running of silting filters by inclusions. Metallographic analysis showed amorphous alumina film inclusions, spinell Al2O3.2MgO, sludge and carbide of silicon.
Corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys
Kouba, Jan ; Pacal,, Bohumil (referee) ; Zmrzlý, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with cerium-based conversion coatings for aluminium alloys. At first the mechanism of protection of metals by inhibitory substances is described in the theoretical section. The next chapter is devoted to application of lanthanide salts as cathodic corrosion inhibitors. Then the characterization of alloy AA 2024 follows. The main part is dedicated to the growth mechanism of the cerium-based mixed conversion coating on the alloy AA 2024. Finally, the factors affecting the character and the quality of obtained coatings are commented. In the experimental part an influence of the thermal activation together with the activation by a hydrogen peroxide was observed. The created film was characterized using SEM and EDS. The level of corrosion protection was evaluated by the polarization resistance measurement. erized using SEM and EDS. The level of corrosion protection was evaluated by the polarization resistance measurement.
Study on dependency of the weld geometry on process parameters in laser hybrid welding of aluminum alloy
Wojnar, Michal ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
A study carried out in the bachelor 's degree in engineering technology deals with changes the geometry of the weld technologies created laserTIG . The theoretical part provides an overview of the basic characteristics and advantages of welding technology laserTIG a summary of the issues welding of aluminum alloys. The experimental part consists in the execution of fifteen test welds on a sheet of Al alloy 2024 tl . 3 mm. From the measured values of individual welds were prepared according to the depth and width of the seam TIG welding current at a constant laser power and dependence on a specific area of the weld heat input Qs. By comparing the dependencies have been demonstrated theoretical advantages of laser hybrid technology , which consist mainly of increasing the welding speed and lower heat load of the welded material. Using the laser hybrid welding for welding of aluminum alloys proven advantageous.
Reduction of the body weight of passenger cars based on material choice
Petrucha, Roman ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains a description of the most commonly used materials and manufacturing technology for the body of cars. For this purpose, in the first chapter describes the vehicle body with the safety requirements that are placed on it. There are also analyzed the benefits of the overall reduction in vehicle weight. The following chapter describes the materials which are used for the construction of the body. The last chapter discusses the issue manufacture of bodies, where are analyzed some manufacturing technologies.

High Speed Milling of Aluminum Alloys for Aircraft Industry
Pazdera, Lukáš ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this paper is a complex analysis of the high speed cutting in the aircraft industry. The paper studies especially the machining of aluminum alloys, which are characterized in the first part. We can find in next chapters a view on the high speed cutting from aspect of the chip formation, the force load and the machined surface roughness. The end of the paper is focused on the issues of the CNC, machining of typical aircraft shapes and description of roughing paths, which increase the productivity.
Fatigue properties of EN-AW 7020 aluminium alloy
Kuběna, Martin ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the fatigue properties of wrought aluminum alloy EN-AW 7020. The theoretical part deals with the properties and use of aluminum alloys and metal response to cyclic loading. The experimental section is concerned with the structure of alloy EN-AW 7020 and its mechanical properties, especially fatigue characteristics. The goal is to construct S-N curves in the high- and low-cycle region and determine the fatigue endurance limit at 10^8 cycles.
