Modeling of the thermal effects on living tissue during electroporation process
Kafka, Roman ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Červinka, Dalibor (advisor)
The work deals with the current state of knowledge of heat transfer in living tissue. It is described here what the distribution of heat is affected with and the existing calculation options. For solving Pennes equation using finite element method COMSOL Multiphysics 5.4 is used. From the current state of the published studies, three are selected and described, each using a different approach. Based on the benefit of each of the studies described, a simple model of its own that simulates an ablation catheter attached to cardiac tissue is solved. A change in electrical conductivity as a function of the electric field intensity is taken into account, but there is also a comparison with anisotropic tissue that has electrical conductivity in different directions. The result of the calculation is voltage distribution, density of electric current and losses, temperature distribution in the model at several time points and graph of temperature development over time.
Application of graphite in thermal management of microelectronics
Práce začíná vysvětlením současných metod chlazení a výzev v oblasti mikroelektroniky. Poté přechází k běžně používaným materiálům - hliníku a mědi a přidává do výběru i uhlíkové alotropie.
Quantification of the thermohydraulic characteristics of the flexible element using experimental data
Sochorec, Rostislav ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
The diploma thesis aims to establish thermo-hydraulic properties of a flexible tube described by its Darcy friction factor and film heat transfer coefficient respectively. A flexible tube (corrugated stainless steel tube) is an easily shapeable stainless steel component used to build various piping connections, in a place of more common copper or plastic made tubes. It can also be used to build heat exchangers thanks to its signature properties. The investigated product is the one developed and manufactured by the Czech company Flexira s.r.o. and sold under the brand name xConnect System. Its thermo-hydraulic properties are established by an experiment, which is based on real utilizations by Laboratory of Energy Intensive Processes in NETME (New Technologies for Mechanical Engineering) Centre at Brno University of Technology. The investigated case is a coil-shaped element serving a purpose of a water-to-water heat exchanger. The text contains a literature survey of the chosen flexible tube and a description of a draft and development of the specific experimental test based off the established theory. The obtained results are then analysed, for the purpose of establishing a functional dependence, which can then be used to calculate a film heat transfer coefficient.
Heat-Hydraulic Design of the Exchanger for the Test Device
Únar, Jan ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of tube exchanger for testing device. The exchanger will serve to heat or cool the flowing air to the desired value. The heating / cooling medium flowing in the tubular space is water. The first part describes the functions, distribution, requirements and current trends of heat exchangers. The second part consists of thermal and hydraulic calculations for the variant of bare tubes and finned tubes and evaluation of results. The result of this work is a design of a tube exchanger, which has the shape of a square type channel for both variants.
Load tests of non-IT parts of data centers
Víteček, Aleš ; Mačák, Martin (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The thesis "Load testing of non-IT parts data centers" deals with the theoretical analysis of data centers with a focus on non-IT part and theoretical preparation for measuring stress tests focused mainly on cooling. The theory is followed by a practical part of the PEC measurement by CATEGORY a.s .. This sample measurement carried out at the company premises clearly outlines the importance of performing similar tests. The measurement is thoroughly evaluated and suggestions are made to improve the operation. The next part of the practical part contains simulation of sample measurement. This simulation serves as a convenient addition and comparison. Also this simulation, the importance of similar stress tests can be justified.
Measuring and Control System for Heat Pump
Ščepka, Ondrej ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis describes the issue of the measuring and control system for the heat pump. In the first part of the thesis is described the principle of heat pump activity, its basic components. The second part contains the distribution of heat pumps according to the method of obtaining and transferring the heat. The following chapter contains the description of system status before the modernization. In the practical part of this thesis is the proposal and realization of new control and monitoring system including the description of individual components. In the conclusion of the thesis is a verification of the use of proposed control and monitoring system of heat pump for the measuring of its operational characteristics.
Study of transverse velocity field in the vicinity of rotating wheel with assumption of forced convection of disc brake
Regner, Dominik ; Polanský, Jiří (referee) ; Štefan, David (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the influence of a local change of temperature due to advection from disc brake to axial velocity field close to the rotating wheel of a car. The second goal is to set parameters applicable to various wheel discs and study of the influence of these parameters to aerodynamical properties of car and thermodynamical properties of the disc brake. The thesis is numerically executed in StarCCM+. The first part focuses on theoretical background about the numerical solution and current status of research. There are described disc parameters, geometry input and solver settings in the second part. The final part deals with a comparison of velocity fields for isothermal and thermodynamical model and evaluates the influence of parameters to velocity field, aerodynamical drag and thermodynamical performance of the brake.
Analysis of the heat utilisation from biogas stations for heating
Kareš, Martin ; Lisá, Hana (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the use of heat from biogas stations. The first part describes the production of biogas, its combustion efficiency and the development of energy production thus obtained. Studium vedení tepla metodami počítačového modelování
STANĚK, Jakub
This diploma thesis is concerned with a problem of the line heat simulation by different kinds of materials with computer - aided COMSOL Multiphysics. The thesis is composed of three thematic units. In the first part there is a line heat principle shortly described and his basic physical quantities which are necessary for correct defining of the simulation. The second part is concerned with the software, its function, auxiliary modulus and a description of single actions, which are essential for making of the model. In the last part there is the whole process of the multiphysical task creation that enables to simulate line heat in a specific material in reliance on time.
