Current physiotherapeutic approaches to the treatment of phantom pain after amputations
Posekaná, Pavlína ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is carried out in the form of research with the aim to summarize phantom limb pain issues in physiotherapeutic practice. The general part describes the causes of phantom pain origin in central and peripheral nervous system and summarizes facts about amputation as a surgical intervention, it's classification and possible complications. It also summarizes all familiar pharmacological and nonpharmacological medical approaches used for phantom limb pain treatment. The main part is focused on three currently most effective methods used to treat phantom limb pain in physiotherapy - mirror therapy, virtual reality and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Next part of this thesis is two case interpretations of patients with lower limb amputation. Both patients undertake six weeks of mirror therapy and they described it's effect as positive. The efficiency has been evaluated according to a questionnaire.

Günterová, Lucie ; Křížková, Štěpánka (advisor) ; Kučerová, Ilona (referee)
Case study: Physiotherapy treatment of patients with the diagnosis: Bilateral pedis gangrene, frostbite TMT - amputation in CA. Content is focused on rehabilitation after amputation of fingers on both lower limbs due to frostbite in the advanced stages of necrosis and subsequent amputation. The aim is to introduce the amputation of the foot, studying literature and the use of theoretical and practical knowledge gained during their studies. Objective description of physiotherapy sessions and a description of the recorded physiotherapy techniques, procedures and examinations. In addition, ensure quality care, improve health, practice self- care and walk carefully chosen treatments. The general section contains a description of the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of lower extremity peripheral. A short introduction to the terms of amputation, frostbite, necrosis, phantom pain, orthotics - prosthetics. Description of the methods, techniques and tests. The practical part of the special assessment is an evaluation of the initial examination, the course of therapy and final examination with subsequent evaluation of the effect of therapy. Bachelor's thesis can be used for students to approach the problem of amputations or patients themselves and their relatives in coping with this disability. Key...
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Gangrene of Lower Limbs
Juráková, Eva ; Lorencová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Hlavičková, Růžena (referee)
Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Gangrene of Lower Limbs. Aim: Summary of theoretical knowledge and processing of case study of a patient with the diagnosis of gangrene of lower limbs. Method: The thesis consists of two parts - theoretic and specific. The theoretic part of the thesis contains topics related to amputations, prothesis, diagnostic methods and physioterapeutical treatments used when dealing with this diagnosis. The specific part of the thesis contains a case study of a physiotherapeutical treatment of a patient after unilateral above-knee amputation with the diagnosis of gangrene of lower limbs including complex kinesiologic examination, plan of rehabilitation, description of the progress of therapy and evaluation of the effects of therapy. The case study was compiled during an internship at the inpatiet rehabilitation ward of the Central Military Hospital in Prague. Key words: amputation, prothesis, phantom pain, case-study, physiotherapy
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Unilateral Above-Knee Amputation
Šimková, Lenka ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (referee)
Name of the thesis: Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of unilateral above-knee Amputation Objective: Summary of theoretical knowledge and processing of case study of a patient with diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation. Methodics of the thesis: This thesis consists of two parts. The general part includes knowledge related with topic amputations, prothesis and possibilities of diagnostics and therapy at this issue, focusing on physiotherapy. Special part, including case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation, contains complex kinesiological examination, rehabilitation plan, progress of therapy and final evaluation of its effect. Result: Case study of patient that had been processed in two weeks in January and February 2016 in Rehabilitation hospital in Beroun, has proved effect of applied intervention in a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation especially in the hip area, where occurred elongation of shortened structures, increase of the range of active motions and improvement of muscle strength especially in flection, extension and bilaterally abduction. Furthermore it could be examined improved realizing of motion stereotypes (bilaterally abduction and...
Case study of Physiotherapy Treatment concerning a patient with transfemoral amputation
Kohútová, Andrea ; Reckziegelová, Petra (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Author: Andrea Kohútová Title: A case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment Concerning a Patient with Transfemoral Amputation Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a case study of physiotherapy treatment concerning a patient with transfemoral amputation and to summarize the theoretical knowledge base corresponding with this diagnosis, its causes and possibilities of rehabilitation treatment. Methods: This bachelor thesis is split into two parts, a theoretical one and a practical one. The main focus of the theoretical part is to establish a brief summary of the anatomy and kinesiology of the lower limb, the theoretical information about amputation and their etiology, the operation techniques and after-surgery complications. It also contains some general findings about lower limb ischemic disease. The first part focuses on the problematics concerning orthopedic prosthetics, subsequent rehabilitation care and physiotherapeutic methods. The second part contains a detailed case study of physiotherapy treatment concerning a patient with transfemoral amputation. This case study includes the anamnesis of the patient, a detailed initial and final complex kinesiology examination, the proposal and aims of the therapy, records of performed individual therapeutic units and an afterwards...

Quality of life of people after transtibial amputation
Markvartová, Martina ; Mikšíčková, Petra (advisor) ; Černý, Pavel (referee)
Title: Quality of life of people after transtibial amputation Objective: The aim of this thesis was to survey and assess the level of quality of life of adults after transtibial amputation. The aim was to get as much information as possible from the affected individuals through anonymous questionnaires. Two points of view were discussed. The first point of view was of personal satisfaction emerging from personal experiences, such as pain, sleep, orfor examplejob performance opportunities. The second point of view was of influence of another person, such as prosthetists, on people's quality of life. Methods: The bachelor thesis is conducted as an empirical quantitative research. The basis of the theoretical part is a literature research. In terms of methodology, a survey was applied. To gain the necessary data an anonymous questionnaire WHOQOL-BREF (short version) was used. This questionnaire inquires how the interviewee perceive their quality of life, health and other life areas. The questionnaire was distributed to prosthetic workplaces where employees purposefully handed these over to patients after transtibial amputation. Results: The results show that the persons involved in the experience of the survey mean not only the overall quality of life, but also the quality of the overall physical...
