Modelling and Design of the IC`s ESD Protection Structures
Běťák, Petr ; Sládek,, Petr (referee) ; Bartoň,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Musil, Vladislav (advisor)
The thesis introduces new semiconductor structures that are used as protections against Electrostatic Discharge occuring in integrated circuits. The fundamental structure for modeling and simulation has been lateral Silicon Controlled Rectifier. This SCR structure has been modificated to enable tuning of the triggering and holding voltages by changing geometrical mask dimensions. On the base of modeling and simulation the new proposed structures have been published. Also several protection structures have been designed to be manufactured and measured on a testchip. The final electrical behavior has been verified by measurement. Finally, the focus has been aided to protection circuit with bipolar transistor. This approach has been also simulated and verified by measurement. Advantages and disadvantages of the proposed protection structures are commented in the thesis.
Evaluation of patient dose in mammography
Polášková, Markéta ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
Breast cancer presents serious epidemiological problem, in result of which die more than 2 000 czech women every year. Screening mammography is one of the most expanded and most effective examinations for early detection of this desease but one has to take into account an inconsiderable risk connected with the procedure based on X-ray ionizing radiation. This diploma thesis deals with evaluation of the dose absorbed by the tissue. It contains the description of evaluation of the average dose in glandular tissue on PMMA phantom, as well as results of the measurements on conventional and digital mammograph. A data file with exposure parameters from mammography screening is included and interpreted. Also the Monte Carlo method was used for the dose evaluation, the thesis contains the brief description of the method, concept of analysis model in mammography and results of simulations.
REBALLING OF BGA PACKAGES USING PACE TF2700 EQUIPMENT
Roháček, Peter ; Špinka, Jiří (referee) ; Starý, Jiří (advisor)
The Diploma thesis is focused on reballing of BGA packages with the device PACE TF 2700. It describes the general types of BGA packages, their defects, importance of thermal management to the solder techniques, where it is also talked about the meaning of solders and fluxes for the joint. The work informs about the most common methods of reballing, the proper handling of components and the current situation with BGA stencils on the market. It briefly describes the device operation of PACE TF 2700, that is working on the convection and IR principle of heating components. It deals with the manufacturing of the template, dummy BGA packages, the test plates, creation of the thermo profile, comparing and examining the defects and their causes, which had the most significant impact on the results. The achievements would serve for comparing them with the results of the future laboratory exercises or as a subject for further works.
Digital I/O card with USB communication
Kořínek, Milan ; Holek, Radovan (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of digital I/O card with USB connectivity for Honeywell spol. s r.o. – HTS CZ o.z. company. The main objective is the delay elimination between reading the current state of the inputs and outputs setting which occurs on the actual used commercial card. Further initial analysis outlines possible solutions at the beginning of the work. One of chapters describes USB communication interface, including its com- munications protocol and USB driver implementation on the operating system Microsoft Windows. The digital card has four I/O ports consisting of eight lines. All ports have built-in protection against overcurrent and ESD protection. Digital isolator is used for USB. Power is supplied via USB, but it is optionally possible to connect an external power source. The last part of the thesis is focused on the card driver design.
Sex ratios in reptiles according to the type of sex determination
Palata, Tomáš ; Kratochvíl, Lukáš (advisor) ; Rehák, Ivan (referee)
There are many factors influencing sex ratios in reptile populations and these factors can differ among sex ratios in different developmental stages. The observed ratio is the result of many complex processes. One of the key factors is the mechanism of sex determination. In reptiles we distinguish two mechanisms of sex determination. The first is genotypic sex determination (GSD), where sex is determined during the fusion of gametes. Species with GSD show just little variation in sex ratios after birth or hatching and during adulthood there is a higher mortality rate of the heterogametic sex. Secondarily, there are reptiles possesing environmental sex determination (ESD). The sex of the developing individual of this species is influenced by incubation temperature during the thermosensitive phase of development. Reptiles with ESD show much greater variability in sex ratios after hatching and this variability may persist to adulthood. This thesis focuses mainly on the differences in sex ratios between GSD and ESD species. One of its interests is also the question of vulnerability of reptiles with ESD in terms of skewed sex ratios during contemporary climate change. Key words: sex ratio, reptiles, sex determination, GSD, ESD, climate change
Human Rights, European Union and the Constitutional Discourse
Dočekalová, Tereza ; Scheu, Harald Christian (advisor) ; Ondřejek, Pavel (referee)
Human rights, European Union and Constitutional Discourse Abstract This thesis deals with human rights within the case law of the ECJ. Purpose of this thesis is to denominate and analyze situations of application of human rights in ECJ's case law, especially from the point of view of critique of rights. For such purpose the thesis is divided into six main sections. First section delimits the foundation of (i) liberal theory of human rights, which gives foundations to the contemporary mainstream human rights discourse and (ii) basic notions of ciritique of rights. The first chapter thus create conditions for understanding of arguments developed in the following sections of this thesis. The second sections briefly describes evolution of case law of the ECJ in the field of human rights protection, particularly landmark decisions of the ECJ, in which it afforded protection to human rights as general principles of the Community law. The third section follows the second section and tries to analyze the human rights case law of the ECJ from the point of view of their recognition as general principles of the Community law. This thesis reflects the self-evident nature of human rights within the Community law and argues that despite the self evident presuppositions of human rights the has been quite selective when...
