Conceptual design of a hydroelectric plant on the Liwagu River in Malaysia
Hamsová, Adéla ; Jobánek, Stanislav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the conceptual design of a small hydropower plant on the Liwagu River in Sabah Province, Malaysia. The background and site survey was provided by Stream Ltd. The work included the design of the intake structure, intake pipeline, engine house and its process section. A suitable type of machine was selected for the hydropower plant. At the end of the work, an economic analysis of the project was prepared. In terms of payback, the project was evaluated as beneficial. The bachelor thesis includes a calculation part, a drawing part and a photo documentation of the designed site.
Evaluation of real PV system operation
Macák, Vít ; Gregorovičová, Eva (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis covers photovoltaic systems, their various configurations and main components. It analyses a specific installation on a single-family house, evaluating the operational data and the economic return of the system. The thesis also provides recommendations for future operations and system expansion options.
Evaluation of real heat pump installation operation
Pliml, Patrik ; Gregorovičová, Eva (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis on heat pumps focuses on various aspects related to heat pumps, including heat transfer or economic benefits. The function of the heat pump is described in a review way. Furthermore, the main heat pump components, low temperature energy sources and different types of heat pumps are presented. The main part of the thesis is focused on the evaluation of the heating of a family house after a real installation of an older heat pump. To solve this part, own measurements were used as well as a calculator to calculate the heat loss of the heated building. These results formed the basis for the evaluation of the system in terms of operational, technical, and economic aspects. A table was created in which the data on the electricity con-sumption for the heating period was kept in order to compare the heat losses obtained from this calculator. The aim of the last part of the bachelor's thesis was to design the heat pump in order to reduce the electricity requirements for heating. This requirement is based on the results obtained in the previous part and corresponds to the current standards of new heat pump technologies. The output of the thesis is a new heat pump design in order to reduce the electricity consumption.
Photovoltaic system for a family house
Hájek, Vojtěch ; Gregorovičová, Eva (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
This bachelor thesis explores the utilization of a photovoltaic system to reduce a family house's dependency on external electricity supply and achieve financial savings. Within the design section of the thesis, specific concepts of photovoltaic systems were developed. The primary objective is to minimize electricity costs while maximizing the use of renewable energy sources. These concepts are designed to achieve a major, rather than complete independence from grid electricity. Furthermore, the proposals were compared based on financial requirements, energy yield, and potential savings. The obtained results allow for the identification of a suitable proposal for a specific family house based on its energy needs and the owner's financial capabilities. Additionally, the study demonstrates the impact of subsidies on the overall return on investment in the project.
Retail electricity price analysis
Chmelař, Šimon ; Zinecker, Marek (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the analysis of electricity retail prices within the Czech Republic. In recent years, spot electricity prices have become a significant topic due to their high volatility, which was caused by market liberalization, geopolitical factors, and the gradual transition to sustainable energy sources. The aim of this work is to create a computational model for estimating the composition of various types of wholesale prices from the retail prices offered by electricity suppliers. The first part of the thesis summarizes the functioning of the wholesale electricity market, its components, and the types of electricity trading. The second part of the thesis focuses on compiling calculations using MATLAB software. By analyzing wholesale prices and prices offered by a certain supplier, it determines whether the supplier has secured at least the minimum part of the estimated consumption of its customers and is thus able to fulfill its obligations.
Energy balance in wastewater treatment plants
Novotný, Jan ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
This masters thesis is dealing with energetic evaluation of selected municipal WWTP – WWTP Polička. First chapter, introduction explains basic terms and goals of thesis. Second chapter explains energy audit, energy audit process its scope and contents. Third chapter deals with assesing life cycle using LCA (life cycle assesment). Fourth chapter deal with energy consumption at WWTP in Czech Republic as well as in the world. Fifth chapter describes technology of WWTP Polička and its fundamental objects. Sixth chapter is assesment of WWTP Polička from hydraulic point of view and assesment of selected machinery. Further there is summation of capital and operational costs followed by capital investment return.
Reduction in the Consumption of Electrical Energy during Computer Network
Doležal, Michal ; Zbytovský, Jan (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the analysis problem during of electrical energy. On the basis of findings, the work includes analysis of the costs on electrical energy.
Thermodynamic cycles used in power engineering
Suchomel, Josef ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
Power engineering is one of the most important parts of industry. Among other things, it deals with production of electricity, without which many of us can no longer even imagine life. All energy devices can be described on the basis of different thermodynamic cycles. And with these thermodynamic cycles this thesis deals. It lists both, the most important cycles, such as Rankin Clausius cycle, which is the basic cycle of most of the power plants, as well as less known, resp. almost new thermodynamic cycles. The emphasis of the whole work is also focused on the advantages and limitations of the stated cycles and on their application in practise, too.
Energy Mix in the Czech Republic
Fojtl, Martin ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis addresses the mixture of energy mix in Czechia. The first part is focused on the evolution of energy mixture up to present days. In the next part, the expected development of the mixture is described from the state energy policy and ecological points of view. Lastly, in the final section, there is a comparison of compositions of electric energy source between Czechia and other countries of a European Union.
Use of the Energy Harvesting Method
Dobrovolná, Terezie ; Králík, Martin (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the use of Energy Harvesting. It contains suggestions for obtaining electric power from alternative sources located inside the laminar box such as light, heat or vibration. Electricity is also used to power sensors and measure solid particles in the air. If a certain particle concentration is exceeded, the acoustic sensor alerts. The work also focuses on the compilation of a block diagram of the device, experimental construction and verification of the functionality of the entire system.
