KONRÁDOVÁ, Monika
The presented diploma thesis deals with the theme of everydayness of imperial diplomats working in Poland in the second half of the 17th century. The basic source for the research is the preserved personal correspondence of six diplomats from the period concerned. The author of the thesis also takes note of prints, leaflets and prescriptive manuals for diplomats of the era. One of the main objectives of the work is to clarify how the imperial envoys perceived the parliamentary tradition and practice of Polish-Lithuanian state and also how they were personally involved in the affairs of the Seim and royal court. An essential part of the work is the analysis of a diplomat´s audience with the Seim, fractionalism of the Seim and the envoy´s interaction with the sovereign during both official and unofficial events. Other important part of the thesis is an interpretation of the symbolic meaning of festivities which the imperials diplomats at the Polish court took part in e.g. weddings, funerals, elections and coronations. The work also focuses on the private component of the diplomat´s mission and its most important institution of "patronage and good friendship", owing to which many locked doors could have been entered and which enabled diplomats having the security of the financial support of their mother country. Informal activities of diplomats comprised also travelling within legation and different related dangers. The author also deals with the health condition of diplomats and the ways their health problems influenced their daily routines during a diplomatic mission. Last but not least part of the work treats the Habsburg diplomat´s perception of Polish, Russian and Tatar people and the communication network of imperial envoys.

Ďurková, Petra ; Peterková, Jana (advisor) ; Druláková, Radka (referee)
This thesis deals with the presumption that multilateral diplomacy is a possible means to promote good governance. The first part described the origin, definition and criticism of the concept of good governance. Another part deals with transformations of diplomacy and international relations after the Cold War. Contemporary diplomacy must respond to globalization, interdependence, technological development, changing international environment and increase the number of actors in international relations. The last part is devoted to multilateral diplomacy, international organizations and especially their connection with good governance. In my thesis I came to the conclusion that multilateral diplomacy can be a useful tool for promoting the objectives of good governance and management of the state. The best space for the use of multilateral diplomacy as a means of promoting good governance is intergovernmental organization.
French cultural diplomacy
Kočvara, Roman ; Nechvátal, Martin (advisor) ; Holas, Petr (referee)
This final thesis aims to clarify the part of diplomacy, which is most visible to the public eye and that is cultural diplomacy, namely the French model. It explains its current institutional structure, financing, the objectives and the means to achieve them. Its form changes very often, because every new government tries to reform it and adapt it to current priorities. For this reason, describing current trends and institutional directionit is a part of the work. Based on analysis of historical context and current practice, I try to point out a long tradition of leadership of French culture in Europe. Also, I seek the answer to the question why the French cultural diplomacy is so successful today.

Šnapková, Patrícia ; Dubský, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Knotková, Vladimíra (referee)
Energy is crucial for economic development of a country. It is very important for the Chinese leadership to ensure energy security of the country. China is the largest consumer of energy. Oil demand is surging and China imports more than a half of its consumption. Peking tries to get adequate supplies from abroad at reasonable prices. However, China faces serious dangers that could disrupt the imports. In order to avoid this risk, Peking builds strategic reserves, diversifies oil suppliers and transfer routes. The thesis examines in what measure diplomacy (through bilateral negotiations, development aid, economic incentives and military cooperation) helps China ensure its energy security.

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze the diplomatic protocol of Russian Federation and list the most important historical events that influenced the shaping of contemporary norms and rules of diplomatic protocol.
