Bumbál, Miroslav ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Růčka, Lukáš (advisor)
Master 's thesis deals about computer networks, which constitutes a global communication structure and play a very important role in today's society. The rapid development of Internet, the emergence of new multimedia applications and their increasing use of calls to the efficient functioning of the creation of such governance mechanisms of transmission, which are able to secure the required parameters. The thesis deals about the issue of quality of service (QoS) in IP networks. It presents the basic characteristics and requirements of these networks for the transmission of sensitive data by the quality of services, deals with the QoS definition, and describes the essential parameters to be followed to achieve the required quality of service in practical deployment. In addition, lists the various principles and options to ensure QoS in computer networks. Generally, it represents the Cisco 1841 router features and options to ensure quality of service in the network based on these routers. Practical thesis part provides two types of model IP networks, which were designed in order to verify the impact of service quality in real practice. Of the known methods to ensure QoS, which include a mechanism of Integrated services, Differentiated services, it focus its content about the Differentiated Services and the implementation of these in proposed network model. The last part of the work presents the results obtained by the impact of quality of service for the applications and their assessment.

Trávníček, Michal ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Mácha, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis was to explain the basic principles and technologies for ensuring reliable and effective routing within networks when a link failure. This is with minimal effect to the quality of service. The focus was on mechanisms ensuring the quality of services within the network, especially differentiated services and the both groups of dynamic routing protocols – distance vectors and link state protocols. On the basis of obtained knowledge, the simulation has been designed in OPNET Modeler. It simulated routing of routing protocols RIP and OSPF of networks without any failure. The next simulations containted the link failure and the link recovery. Then the network with DiffServ was designed. It filtered data packets according to used ports and protocol and it added a label to packet with a priority for the certain service. The attention in the network was focused on the VoIP service and its parameters, such as jitter and end-to-end delay. It has also monitored the value of dropped traffic. It simulated the networks with the link failure and the link recovery. The results were compared to the network with no QoS and network with QoS but no failure.
QoS simulation model in NS2
Balej, Jiří ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is described fundamental principle of IPTV and all the necessary conditions for high-quality video and audio signal. In reference is the recommendation of DSL Forum TR-126, where are summarized QoS parameters for IPTV. There is the explanation of Triple play service as a combined distribution of television, telephone and high-speed Internet. In one chapter are presented methods for asssure Quality of Service (QoS). There are described the method of Integrated services and especially Differentiated services. It explains a function of edge and core routers in Differentiated services. Methods for random early detection (RED) a scheduling are described too. The aim of this thesis was to create two laboratory tasks in the Network Simulator 2. The first lab simulates VoIP traffic in data network and assure QoS for VoIP. In the second lab is a simulated the network with Triple play service and the goal is to assure the recommended parameters for IPTV. To resolve the aim of this work, was needed to study the function of Network Simulator 2 and focus on settings for Differentiated services.
Modelling QoS in Computer Networks
Danko, Martin ; Veselý, Vladimír (referee) ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (advisor)
Quality of service (QoS) is an important consideration in networking, but it is also a significant challenge. Providing QoS guarantees becomes even more challenging when you add the complexities to the network like voice and video applications. This master's thesis focuses on QoS modeling and simulation in discrete event simulation system OMNeT++. The implementation of multiple techniques for QoS simulation is added to OMNeT++ within this work. All implemented modules are validated against the QoS tools on real routers. The last part of the work presents the possibility of QoS simulation in newly implemented modules.
Simulation of QoS models in Opnet IT Guru environment
Zapletal, Lukáš ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Kacálek, Jan (advisor)
The main goal of this work is description and following simulation of operating with support of QoS technology in OPNET IT Guru programme. The bachelor’s work contains a theoreticall description of providing the quality of service by force of integrated and differentiated services models and also of the MPLS protocol. The work is particularly focused on IntServ model and its reservation with assistance of the RSVP protocol. The simulation in OPNET IT Guru programme has also been included in the work. Process for constituent parameters setting-up and its characterization for both the models are described thoroughly in work’s supplement. As for the differentiated services, the simulation is performed by confrontation of a voice service in two scripts. In case of differentiated services the mechanisms for tagging of packets and the treatment method have been demonstrated on inside and border routers. Operating types are simulated in ftp, e-mail and voice applications. Verification of authenticity and validity results of objects setting-up is being performed by simulation in OPNET IT Guru environment, Academic Edition version 9.1. Grafical results have also been gained by the simulation.
QoS Implementation in Access Network
Adámek, David ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with computer networks which play a key role in present society. More and more demands are placed on these networks (especially on quality of services and throughput) because of fast-growing developement of services such as voice and video real-time transmissions. All the packets in typical Ethernet networks are equal. Therefore it is sometimes impossible for the application to maintain required throughput speed of a network. For this case it is useful to take some mechanisms into the consideration. These mechanisms (sometimes called QoS) are able to distinguish different types of transmissions and traffic, analyze them and then prioritize them according to some pre-defined set of rules. The most famous mechanisms are Integrated Services and Differentiated Services. The implementation of Differentiated Services is the goal of this thesis.
Effect of Network Link Failure and Alternative Route Usage on Quality of Service Assurance
Atanasčev, Petr ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
Information about the differentiated services (DiffServ), the link failure problems and the alternate routes in a DiffServ domain finding are the aims of the master´s thesis to be given. Properties of the differentiated services, the usage of marking techniques in the DiffServ domain are described in the thesis. The concept of the DiffServ domain, its structure and mostly used today routing protocol OSPF are described too. The function model of the DiffServ domain has been created in the simulation environment called Opnet Modeleler on the basis of the obtained knowledge. The link failure and the following link recovery have been simulated in the model and the effects have been analyzed after that.
Advanced modelling of SNMP behaviour in OPNET Modeler simulation environment
Bezchleba, Josef ; Skořepa, Michal (referee) ; Molnár, Karol (advisor)
The aim of my diploma is to introduce the SNMP protocol designed for remote device management to the readers and present its implementation into the Opnet Modeler simulation environment. For the implementation the DiffServMIB database has been chosen, which describes the components of differentiated services mechanism. My diploma thesis describes in detail the possibilities of application of the DiffServMIB database in traffic management. The design of a simulation model, which represents the differentiated data processing in input and output direction on a router interface, is also introduced. Next, this model is implemented into the Opnet Modeler simulation environment. The goal of this simulation model is the possibility of simple configuration of individual MIB attributes. In my work I also suggest an implementation method able to interconnect the MIB database with the configuration process of the active network element - with focus on output procedures of DiffServ mechanism.
