Breathing Rate Estimation from the Electrocardiogram and Photoplethysmogram
Janáková, Jaroslava ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the issue of gaining the respiratory rate from ECG and PPG signals, which are not only in clinical practice widely used measurable signals. The theoretical part of the work outlines the issue of obtaining a breath curve from these signals. The practical part of the work is focused on the implementation of five selected methods and their final evaluation and comparison.
Data Analysis and Clasification from the Brain Activity Detector
Jileček, Jan ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This thesis aims to implement methods for recording EEG data obtained with the neural activity sensor OpenBCI Ultracortex IV headset. It also describes neurofeedback, methods of obtaining data from the motor cortex for further analysis and takes a look at the machine learning algorithms best suited for the presented problem. Multiple training and testing datasets are created, as well as a tool for recording the brain activity of a headset-wearing test subject, which is being visually presented with cognitive challenges on the screen in front of him. A neurofeedback demo app has been developed, presented and later used for calibration of new test subjects. Next part is data analysis, which aims to discriminate the left and right hand movement intention signatures in the brain motor cortex. Multiple classification methods are used and their utility reviewed.
Software for manual focus of camera with 4K resolution
Sláma, Adam ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Kříž, Petr (advisor)
This Master thesis is focused on the analysis of currently used methods which whose target is to determine the rate of image focus. This analysis was used during the development of the program which evaluates the rate of image focus in percentage rate, works in real time and cooperates with a camera capable of 4k image resolution with a manual focus of the lenses. Application is then capable of a finding of a pre-defined image under certain circumstances which is being used for increasing of effectivity of image focusing. Another option is represented by a method that is searching the most suitable area for focusing in the center of the image. A detailed description of these methods and program itself are also included in the thesis. The final part of the thesis contains records of measurement tests with its results.
Preventing Computer System from Computational Overload Due to Interrupts
Hajdík, Tomáš ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the techniques to prevent computer system from computational overloading due to excessive frequency of interruptions. The goal is to document the effect of interupts on a selected computing platform containing the ARM Cortex-M4 processor core. The work describes and implements possible software techniques that reduce the impact of consequences of overload due to excessive interruption frequency. At the same time the work verifies and compares the effectiveness of the particular implemented techniques by appropriate set of experiments.
Application of band spectrum regression in economic problems
Zubaľ, Andrej ; Baruník, Jozef (advisor) ; Víšek, Jan Ámos (referee)
In recent years, there has been a rise of interest in the use of various spectral methods in economics and econometrics. These methods have their theoretical background in mathematics, particularly in Fourier analysis. The less tradi- tional and relatively new branch of methods stems from the so-called wavelet analysis. Wavelet methods are believed to have a wide applicability in the anal- ysis of economic time series. The motivation for this thesis is to introduce these methods and apply them in the analysis of economic problems, thereby showing their usefulness within the economic context. Particular attention is paid to band spectrum regression, which allows for decomposition of economic relation- ships into different frequency components. In this work, we use wavelet band spectrum regression, among other wavelet methods, to analyze the relation- ship between realized and implied volatilities for the price of crude oil. Second application is from the field of macroeconomics. We analyze the relationship between unemployment and labor productivity growth for four major European economies. 1
Image codecs based on the wavelet transform
Kiska, Tomáš ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis describes issues of wavelet compression, which is today already in common use mainly at work with digital photographs or other pictures. Using these algorithm you can copy informations and save efficiently. There are main image formats and types of compression suitable for editing pictures desribed in this thesis. So the focus is on discrete wavelet transform, which uses so-called wavelets, the Haar´s and Daubechies wavelet are the best known of all. Next chapter of this work explores colour spaces, in which can be a picture displayed. In case of coding and encoding it is model RGB and YCbCr. Not least there is mentioned term of picture decomposition. At the end, there are image codecs EZW, SPITH and EBCOT which are describe in detail.
The use of EEG in assessing the emotional state of a person
Strakoš, Libor ; Mézl, Martin (referee) ; Potočňák, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on EEG processing and emotion classification within two-dimensional emotion space. First part consists of theoretical research about emotional responses of human subjects on sound, image and video stimuli. Emotions are examined from aspect of physiology and psychology. Furthermore technical overview of measurement, analysis and emotion classification within two-dimensional emotional space is discussed. Based on gathered knowledge measurement setup with audiovisual stimuli was designed and measured with two independent instruments – EGI GES400MR in laboratory conditions and Emotiv EPOC device in non-laboratory conditions. Signals were processed and emotions were classified based on chosen features. Performance of classifiers in multiple feature selection setups was evaluated.
Comparison of Lossy Image Compression Formats
Koláček, Ladislav ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with comparing of lossy image compression formats. The chapters describe principles of image compression and lossy formats themselves. Specifically the lossy formats JPEG, JPEG 2000, JPEG XR and WebP. The thesis includes theoretical comparison of the formats mentioned above, along with the methods used for measuring image quality. The practical part contains the results of the quality measurements of each format and description of design together with implementation of the tutorial.
Lossy Image Compression
Bařina, David ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with advanced methods of lossy image compression. To the midst of these methods belong the discrete cosine transform and Haar's discrete wavelet transform. Furthermore principles of color models and algorithms used in lossless data compression are explained in this text. The purpose of this thesis is the library implementation that is based on these cognizances.
Comparison of Video Codecs
Urbánek, Pavel ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis is aimed at analysis of video codecs and their comparison. First part of this document provides reader with the basic information on encoding and decoding process including high level description of often used algorithms. It describes codecs and the process of standardization. Second part is focused on test specifications and codecs comparsion itself including conclusion. PSNR, SSim and BD-PSNR are key methods used for comparing codecs.
