Cyclists perception in road traffic
Janošíková, Denisa ; Belák, Michal (referee) ; Bucsuházy, Kateřina (advisor)
This thesis deals with cyclist behavior in real road traffic — the thesis aimed specifically at visual perception of the situation behind the cyclist before turning and lane changing. The cyclist's behavior before turning and lane changing is analyzed concerning visual perception, the time of head-turning, and signaling the direction change. The distance from the intersection, where these actions began, was also evaluated. The measurement was conducted in real rod traffic in the Valašské Klobouky town. The average times necessary for visual inspection of the situation behind the cyclist ranged from 0.97 seconds to 1.50 seconds. The average values of the distance from the intersection, where signaling of the direction change began, ranged from 41 m to 51 m. Results can be used in the field of accident analysis or education.
The Footbridge
Rusňák, Marek ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The main goal of this diploma thesis is a design and verification of a steel footbridge crossing the river Dřevnice in Zlín. As the basic material steel S355 and for selected members steel S235 was chosen. There are two structural variants designed in the introductory part of the thesis. These variants are then compared and in the next part only selected, more favourable variant, is addressed. The selected variant is a truss footbridge with a bridge deck at the bottom and curved top chords. The bridge deck consists of floor beams and steel plate with longitudinal stiffeners. The span of the structure is 35.0 m, the width of the footbridge is 3.9 m and its height in the middle of the span is 4.2 m.
Kroměříž - a town at a new crossroads
Ondrůšková, Tereza ; Tichý, Jan (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with chosen kinds and states of transport and their relation to people and vice versa. The first part of the thesis is focused on a theory of transportation in cities and their connection with surroundings. The thesis explains basic topic of this problematic and shows relevant legislation and technical norms. The second part is focused on transport in a town of Kroměříž. The work divides the outer and inner transport and divides also transport into static transport and transport in a move. The thesis realized an urbanistic analysis in individual spaces in the town. The thesis evaluates urbanistic-traffic situation based on ascertained information.
Product innovation for cyclists in the Šumava National Park
PŮBALOVÁ, Kateřina
Thanks to its diverse landscape, Šumava National Park is suitable for active tourism. The aim of NP Šumava is to offer quality services to visitors in the area of catering, accommodation and orientation on cycling routes. This bachelor thesis will give readers an insight into the issues of the tourism product for cyclists and subsequent innovations. Furthermore, the reader will learn whether there are differences in the behaviour of the selected target groups.
Bridge for the transfer of nets, cyclists and pedestrians across the river Svitava in Brno
Dvořák, Dominik ; Šoukalová, Gabriela (referee) ; Kožik, Libor (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the design and assessment of a footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the Svitava River near Tomkovo náměstí. S355 steel was chosen as the material and S235 steel for selected elements. In the introductory part of the thesis, possible solutions for changing the cross-sections of the main load-bearing elements and their subsequent comparison are presented. Then only the selected most disadvantageous variant is discussed. The design with circular hollow sections was chosen as the final option. The span of the footbridge is 43,05 m.
The verification of usability of the heart rate variability in the training process for cyclists
KADLEC, Jakub
Alternation of intensity and rest in the right proportion is crucial for the development of sports performance. The correct timing of the practice can be simplified by monitoring heart rate variability. The aim of the thesis is to verify connection between the current readiness to give a sport performance and HRV. The verification had been performed using HRV monitoring and stress tests. The stress tests were undertaken in Functional Load Diagnostic Laboratory belonging to the Department of Sport Studies at the University of South Bohemia. The experiment had been running for two months. The participants of the experiment were two cyclists of XC category. One of the limiting factors of the experiment is the number of participants. The statistical significance of values was gained by comparing spirometry and spectral analysis of heart rate variability results. Correlation of values of sympathetic nervous system stimulation and minute ventilation can be considered as statistically important. Connections of only one of two experiment participants were statistically important for the thesis. The first of the probands showed 32 statistically important correlations out of 140. The second of the probands showed 11 statistically important correlations out of 140. More statistically significant correlations have been proven in cyclist with higher level of performance. The connection between the level of performance and the HRV, the importance of which is particularly in determining the level of compensation, has been confirmed at least to some extent.
History of mountain biking in Vimperk- from 1989 to the present
Pomezný, Lukáš ; Kašpar, Ladislav (advisor) ; Kainová, Lucie (referee)
IN ENGLISH The work deals with the history of mountain bike in Vimpersko from 1989 to the present. Major cycling events, prominent racers, organizers and founders of a mountain bike section in Vimpersko should appear in the work. The main aim of this work is to investigate and record the arrival of a mountain bike in Vimpersko from 1989 to the present. Partial objectives include recording the main characters associated with the emergence of mountain bike races and a section in Vimperk and linking the topic with the history of cycling in the Czech Republic. The main method of work is the historical method enriched with interviews with the main actors of mountaine biking in Vimpersko.

Comparison of results of spiroergometry on running and bicycle ergometer of athletes with different specialization
MARKO, David
A choice between a running or bicycle ergometer is not possible in every laboratory. Significant differences may appear in measuring results of ergometers with different load specificity. The aim of our thesis is to find out about the differences of values during the spiroergometric test at the running and bicycle ergometer in sportspeople with different specialization, adolescent categories of mountain cyclists and medium and long track runners. To carry out all the testing, the Functional Load Diagnostic Laboratory belonging to the Department of Sport Studies at the University of South Bohemia. All cyclists and runners underwent both tests during three days having an equal physical condition. The tested parameters included the VO2max value, breath volume, minute ventilation, breathing frequency, maximal heart frequency, and maximal watt performance. Our results proved significant differences of all examined parameters in runners. There was a significant difference in cyclists´ results noted in the following parameters: VO2max, breathing volume, minute ventilation, and watt performance. The average values of the most important parameter, VO2max, in runners, was equal to 60,6 ? 4,24 ml.min-1.kg-1 while running, and 56,0 ? 5,34 ml.min-1.kg-1 while cycling, however, cyclists reached the value of 56,6 ? 5,16 ml.min-1.kg-1 when running, and 61,30 ? 4,47 ml.min-1.kg-1 when cycling. The results of our thesis have proven factually as well as statistically significant differences of measuring results in both running and bicycle ergometer, depending on the type of exercise.
