A study of the realationship of individual phases of the 110 m hurdles with overall performance
Slavíček, Lukáš ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
Title: A study of the relationship of individual phases of the 110 m hurdles with overall performance Objectives: The main goal of this diploma thesis was to use correlation analysis to determine which phases of the 110 m hurdles have the closest relationship (most highly correlated) with overall performance at different performance levels. Another goal was to determine how the time courses of their performances differ. Methods: Considering the objectives of this thesis, a quantitative research method was chosen, namely a correlation survey. Kinematic analysis using the computer program Kinovea was used to analyze the filmed material. To determine the correlation between the different phases of the 110 m hurdles (1st acceleration phase, 2nd acceleration phase, maximum speed phase, speed endurance phase and 3rd acceleration phase) with the overall performances in each category, we chose correlation analysis using an analytical tool (correlation matrix) in Microsoft Excel. Results: In all three performance levels, the overall performance was most correlated with the performance in the maximum speed phase, during which the Czech hurdlers' time courses differed the most from the world's hurdling elite, as in this phase was the largest decline in performance. When examining correlations, we found that...
Assessment of the Financial Situation af a Company with Prediction of Selected Indicators with Statistical Methods
Marcinov, David ; MBA, Štefan Polák, (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the evaluation of the financial situation of the company CS-CONT and with prediction of selected indicators using statistical methods. The theoretical part defines selected financial indicators and statistical methods such as time series, regression analysis and correlation analysis. Based on the theoretical basis, the practical part evaluates the financial situation of the selected company, predicts the possible future development of selected indicators and examines the possible dependence between some indicators. The last design part contains the author’s recommendations to improve the company’s financial situation.
Assessing Economic Situation of a Company and Proposals for Its Improvement

The diploma thesis evalutes the economic situation of Česká zbrojovka a.s. in the years 2012 to 2020, based on the results of selected financial analysis indicators and statistical methods. The theoretical part desribes financial indicators, time series, regression and correlation analysis. The analytical part contains calculations of financial indicators, some of which are further selected for statistical analysis and on the basis of which the expected development of indicators for the next two years is determined, or the dependence between these selected indicators is revealed. The last part includes suggestions for improving the current economic situation of the company.
An Econometric Model of Electricity Demand in the Czech Republic - a Comparative Study of the Relationship between Retail and Commercial Prices in EU
Franěk, Martin ; Pavláková Dočekalová, Marie (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this master´s thesis is to create an econometric models explaining the formation of electricity prices with a focus on comparing the environment of retail and wholesale prices between years 2010 and 2020. The model will be created for the environment of the Czech Republic and another chosed EU member country. The partial goals of the work are the research of professional literature, the creation of a database for the computational part, the creation of the model in the appropriate statistical software (GRETL and IBM SPSS Statistics 25), testing the stability of the model and the discussion and evaluation of results.
Assessing Economic Situation of a Company and Proposals for Its Improvement
Machová, Hana ; MSc,, Miroslav Hladký, (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of the economic situation of the selected company. The theoretical part describes the issues of financial and statistical analysis. Financial analysis indicators, time series analysis, regression and correlation analysis are described. In the analytical part, a financial and thereafter statistical analysis is performed using selected methods to determine the current situation and expected progression of indicators in the following years. Based on the identified problematical areas, possible suggestions for improving the current situation are describes in the proposal part.
Assessment of Selected Company Indicators Using Statistical Methods
Pospíšil, Vojtěch ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the application of statistical methods in assessing selected indicators of the company Draka Kabely, Ltd. This work is divided into three parts. The first part explains the terms related to financial indicators, regression and correlation analysis and also explains the matters of time series. In the second part, the calculation of selected financial indicators is performed, then statistical methods are used to predict future developments and to reveal the dependencies between the indicators. The last part contains suggestions for improving the current situation.
Assessment of Selected Company Indicators Using Statistical Methods
Rozkydal, Štěpán ; Michalíková, Eva (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of selected financial indicators of the company STAVOČ spol. s r.o. using statistical methods in the years 2013–2020. In the theoretical part, financial indicators, time series analysis, regression analysis and correlation analysis are defined. In the analytical part, the theoretical knowledge is applied to the analysis of selected financial indicators. Some financial indicators are then subjected to statistical analysis on which the prediction of values of indicators for the following two years is carried out or the dependency between the selected indicators is determined. In the last part of the thesis, measures leading to the improvement of the current economic situation of the company are suggested.

Statistical analysis and modeling of inflation
Baniar, Matúš ; Zichová, Jitka (advisor) ; Hurt, Jan (referee)
Title: Inflation modeling Author: Matúš Baniar Department: Department of probability and mathematical statistics Supervisor: RNDr. Jitka Zichová Dr., Department of probability and mathematical statistics Abstract: Inflation, the growth of the general price level, is a common economic phenomenon, which is a macroeconomic problem. The thesis deals with the me- thods by which it is possible to model inflation and therefore to understand its de- velopment. In the first case, the correlation and regression analysis, which deal with the relationship of two or more variables and the following selection of the appro- priate mathematical model. The model of linear regression is described also with methods by which we analyze its adequacy. Another described method is the analy- sis of one-dimensional time series, which we apply so called Box-Jenkins methodol- ogy. Both approaches are illustrated on real financial data using the software Wol- fram Mathematica 8. Keywords: inflation, correlation analysis, regression analysis, time series
