Emotional experience in patients with chronic renal failure

The diploma thesis deals with the emotional experience of patients with chronic renal failure. It aims to explore positive and negative emotional experiences, the presence of depressive and anxiety symptoms, the degree of anger and alexithymia in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. The theoretical part summarizes previously published theoretical knowledge in this area and the empirical part describes the statistical measurement and comparison of selected variables of emotional experience in the research sample. The theoretical part is divided into 4 chapters, the first of them deals with the medical aspects of chronic renal failure and its treatment. The second chapter deals with the coping with illness, defines psychological aspects of chronic disease and describes the patient's subjective perception of the disease and attitudes towards the disease. The third chapter summarizes the definitions of emotions and emotional experience and defines the most respected theories of emotion. The fourth chapter describes the emotional experiences of illness, factors affecting the emotional experience of illness and deals with depression, anxiety, anger and alexithymia, at the end focuses on current research in this area. Multidisciplinary cooperation in nursing homes

7 This diploma thesis deals with the topic of multidisciplinary cooperation in nursing homes. At the beginning of the work, a chapter on nursing service is prepared, where everything related to i tis described. From the nursing service, the text of the thesis moves to the group of seniors, old age and aging, where all important concepts are defined. The next chapter deals with the quality standards of social services, and the following, the fourth, shows what other social services can be used by people belonging to the PS target group. In the fifth chapter, the thesis deals with multidisciplinary cooperation, the composition of the multidisciplinary team and the experts who can be part of the team. The is also a code of ethics. Chaptet six describes two facilities, specifically two nursing gomes, where the research was conducted. The chapter is supplemented by price lists in Annexes 3 and 4. The penultimate chapter, entitled Long- term care, i salso important for this work, as this topic is again closely related to nursing services and, above all, multidisciplinary teams and cooperation between individua members. Teachers' preparedness to educate children/pupils with chronic diseases in the context of inclusive education

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of Teachers' reddines for a children/pupils suffering from a chronic disease within the inclusive education. The theoretical part of the thesis contains three chapters, the first chapter sheds light on characterization of developmental specifics of a child in preschool and younger school age. The two following chapters deal with general issues and characteristics of chronic diseases. Individual chronic diseases are highlighted, namely any allergic diseases, celiac disease, type 1 diabetes and epilepsy. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on the definition of inclusive education. The society's stance to the disabled in a historical context is described here, and the legislative definition of inclusive education is also mentioned. The last issue mentioned is a child with a chronic disease in the process of inclusive education. A quantitative method was used for the research part of the thesis, namelly an online questionnaire survey. The main goals of the research are to find out whether teachers are sufficiently familiar with the issues of chronic diseases, which sources do they use to get information from, and how successfully do parents bring awareness and cooperate with teacher about their child's illness.

The perspective of the classroom climate regarding a child suffeing from a chronic illness

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of a pupil with chronic disease and his/her impact on the class environment. In the theoretical part, the characteristics of selected chronic diseases are processed, as well as basic information about the disease in connection with the psyche. It is followed by school legislation concerning pupils with special educational needs, the topic of the school class as a social group and basic information regarding the environment of the class. In the practical part, interviews with chronically ill pupils and their class teachers are processed as well as the questionnaires which were filled out by classmates of the pupil with the disease. The research survey focuses mainly on the feelings of the pupil with chronic illness in the school environment, the attitude of the teacher towards the ill pupil and its impact on mutual relations in the classroom. Pupils with chronic diseases who participated in our research survey have no problem with integration into the classroom.

Diabetes mellitus 1. typu u žáků základních škol - vybrané společenskovědní aspekty

This bachelor thesis deals with changes that occur when diabetes mellitus type 1 is found out in children (younger and older) in their school age. What impact of disease is on child himself, his parents or relatives and if his situation at school is affected as well. In the theoretical part I mention basic information about this metabolic disease and I try to describe some of the problems which are connected with this chronic illness. How the life of family changes especially the patient´s one itself. What difficulties and complications are possible and what measures are suitable for school and after-school care of such a child. The aim of this thesis is to describe mentioned themes using case interpretations. Interviews and questionnaire surveys with patients or their relatives will be carried out as a metodology. I find expert analysis of paediatric diabetologists to be very important. Finally the goal of this thesis is attempt to look up possible generalizations of this disease from different points of view - individual perception and experience of particular respondents.

Celiac disease as a chronic illness of a child and its impact on the family.

Celiac disease is genetically determined chronic illness. It belongs to autoimmune diseases which are characterized by the formation of antibodies againts its own tissues. Celiac disease leads to formation of antibodies against enterocytes which is caused by the presence of gluten in the food. Celiac disease is lifetime permanent intolerance to gluten. Origin and development of disease depends on the patient´s genetic condition, consumption of foods containing gluten and pathogens.The most serious is developing cancer. Basic examination of celiac disease is serological examination of blood.To finally confirm the diagnosis of celiac disease is required biopsy of the small intestine.The basic therapeutic approaches of celiac disease is strict gluten-free diet for life when patients consume special gluten-free and naturally gluten-free foods.The thesis is Celiac disease as the child's chronic illness and its reflection in the family.The research group forms the selection of respondents orientated to families with children afficted with celiac disease. I was interviewed in ten selected families. In the most of them I interviewed only with the parents of the children. The aim of my Bachelor thesis was find out, what are the consequences of chronic illness of the child in the family and how is the family affected by the celiac disease.Thanks the research I found out that the celiac disease attacts course of the family.The most of the respondents perceive celiac disease as a restriction but they can live with it.This bachelor thesis served as an information material among families during the research. While conducting an interview, I discussed the interviewed mothers and provided them with the information I found in other families.

Quality of life of individuals with multiple sclerosis

This thesis deals with the quality of life of individuals with chronic illnesses, with focus on multiple sclerosis disease and how to cope with this disease. The theoretical part is dedicated to the quality of life of people with multiple sclerosis. In this part the basic concepts related to the topic, especially in the areas of symptoms, diagnosis and impact of the disease on the defined spheres of life.For this bachelor thesis was chosen qualitative research survey. The survey was done by in-depth interview and an accompanying questionnaire method SEIQoL. In this part of the study was monitored the quality of life of nine respondents with multiple sclerosis. Research survey analyzed the pitfalls of the disease and the factors that helped the respondents to overcome these illness obstacles.

The role of paediatric nurses in the prevention of chronic respiratory diseases of children with a focus on prevention of parents' smoking

Abstract Objective: The research study is to characterize the nurses´ role in the prevention of chronic respiratory disease, focusing on smoking prevention. The next objective is to raise awareness among parents about the negative impacts of smoking on the health of their children. It was then established, how many informations have got parents smokers about adverse effect on the health of their children. In relation to these objectives was established six research questions. The way of achieving the objective: To achieve the objectives a method of qualitative research was chosen, which was implemented through in-depth interviews. On the basis of specified research questions were created individual categories for getting answers to the research questions. It was elected a methode of intentional choice. Survey research took place in outpatient offices in the districts Znojmo and Brno Venkov. 10 parents smokers and 10 nourses agreed to be interwieved through using a method of anonymous questioning. Scientific benefits: A research study presents an overview of the impact of smoking on the health of children, the possibilities for intervention in the prevention of chronic diseases of children and and helping their parents smokers in the treatment of tobacco dependence. It will find application in primarily preventive and inpatient care as well. The knowledges gained and their conclusions: Baby nurse has important and irreplaceable role in the healthy development of children and in the prevention of risks to their health. Risk behaviour of children and youth is currently a serious social problem. The educational efforts has to be directed to change lifestyle and its components and is connected with the support of health. The results of our investigation shows that parents smokers often underestimate the influence smoking on the health of their children and are not very willing to do something for children. Parents also underestimate the effect of passive smoking, even though most of them have sufficient information about the risks. Whereas, children usually can't decide on environment, where they live, health professionals would aim interventions to protect children including the unborn ones. Question of health education is included in the nurse´s competences and is ordered to the doctors and nurses by law. It is therefore desirable that paramedics, having used their authority, increase their efforts and interventions to promote non-smoking. Nurse can help the patient with motivation and treatment their addiction and intervene according to recommendations based on scientific evidences. To a short 10 minute intervention has nurse opportunity apply in every contact with the patient, during his visit at doctor´s office or at the hospital in the pacients admitted to hospital. At least ask about smoking and give the smokers clear recommandation how to stop smoking and offer clear advice to the treatment referred in the brochure, with information of the harmful effects of smoking on the health of children.
