Cuban foreing policy in the context of economic dependency on the USSR: the case of spurring armed revolutions in the third world countries through Tricontinental

Bachelor thesis "Cuban foreign policy in the context of economic dependency on the USSR: The case of spurring armed revolutions in the third world countries through Tricontinental" deals with the problem of Cuban dependency in its foreign policy - particularly in the field of propaganda - before and after the year 1968, when the Cuban leaders were forced, by the circumstances, to rethink their approach in dealing with the Soviet Union after the import of oil on the island was suspended. In the first part, the general goals of the Cuban foreign policy, in the initial period of the new Castro's regime, towards third world countries are described. The emphasis is also on pinpointing the main differences between the Soviet and Cuban foreign policy agendas. In the second part, the focus is on comparing the form and the content of Cuban propaganda (the frequency of mentioning armed struggles) as it was distributed to the public through the magazine Tricontinental, a magazine that served as the main ideological "weapon" of the Cuban propaganda machine (mainly outside of the country). Czechoslovak/ Czech - Cuban relations from 1959

This bachelor thesis focuses on the dynamics of relations between Czechoslovakia (later the Czech Republic) and Cuba, which despite considerable geographical distance and not big economic importance of countries in global scale, occupy the central place in their foreign policies after 1960. The center of the author's particular interest will be the analysis of the role of Czechoslovakia in relations between Cuba and the Eastern bloc and consequently role of the Czech Republic in the relations of Cuba and the European Union. Author will work with Czech and foreign secondary literature. Given the state of research on the topic will be the sub-issues conducted interviews with selected personalities relevant for these issues.

Trade Relations of the Czech Republic and Cuba

This thesis describes historical development of Czech-Cuban trade, its today's situation and its perspectives for future. Czech businessmen intending to run business with a Cuban partner might find some useful information in the paper, including experiences of some Czech companies and general conditions for starting their trade activity in Cuba. Considerable attention is also devoted to Cuba's position in the world economy, in particular to its relations with the USA and the EU.
