Lieutenant Colonel of General Staff of Czechoslovak Army František Hrubiš (1897-1967)

This work deals with the personality of František Hrubiš (1897-1967), his whole life and setting it in the context of the time. It focuses mainly on his military career and his contribution to many important moments in our history, such as participation in the Czechoslovak legions, later career in the Czechoslovak army during the First Republic, World War II, post-war life and his participation in the trial with Rudolf Slánský. To complete the overall picture of personality, this work deals with a brief history of the family and the environment in which he grew up. The work is based on the testimony of the witness, data found in the documentation of the Military Historical Institute in Prague, documentation from the Archive of the Security Forces and collections of documents of a personal nature stored in the National Archives of Prague, as well as personal family photographs and correspondence. The conclusion is a summary of the information and findings obtained, not only from the documents, but also from the testimony of František Hrubiš's daughter, Jarmila Filipová. Hitler´s unknown helper. The case of Ilse Koch.

The subject of this thesis is an analysis of Ilse Koch, a woman who grew up in the time of National Socialism in Germany and actively took part in running the concentration camp Buchenwald during the Second World War. She became well-known mainly because of her sadism and cruel actions she inflicted on innocent captives in the camp. Their own testimonies are key parts of the thesis. The aspects clearly proving Koch was to blame are named, on the other hand, there are also pointed out testimonies which defend her. To the complete narrative also belongs a description of the historical context, a part of which is a role of women in National Socialism and brief information about the concentration camp Buchenwald. The thesis is concluded by the author's reflection based on gained knowledge.
The symbol of time - "patriotic" priest Josef Plojhar

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compose biographical essay of the life of catholic priest Josef Plojhar, from his childhood to the beginning of fifties in the 20th century. Up to now unknown sources will be employed and with regard to absence of sources' platform partly oral historical sources will be used. I will follow his personal life, social situation of his family, problematic question of his germanization, career as a priest and consequential transformation to the profane sphere, the years in concentration camps and the years after 1945.
Life under the Goetheʼs Oak. The Concentration Camp Buchenwald in 1937-1945

The theme and primary purpose of this thesis is illustration everyday life in the concentration camp Buchenwald. Buchenwald was a concentration camp where the Nazis imprisoned a lagre number of citizens of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The thesis will primary consist of three categories. First of all it is the issue of "the space", in which will be incorporated a brief outline of the development of concentration camps in Germany before the war, the function of administrative, technical and military buildings of SS units. Another theme of the thesis points to the physical labor of prisoners, which was daily content during their stay in a concentration camp. The purpose of their work should lead to rapid death with the lowest cost of their meals. In favor of or against the prisoners decided ideological-political, and economic aspects of the later mode. The concept of work in the Nazi concentration camps in successive years significantly changed, which were causing the preparations for war and the later development of the war conflict itself. The third theme contents the social relations and cultural life of the prisoners, which refer to the human adaptability in these inhuman conditions.
