Thematic atlas of lookout rocks in the area of Jetřichovice in Bohemian Switzerland National Park
Linková, Klára ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Valchářová, Daniela (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of a thematic atlas, the content of which are maps depicting the most famous rock viewpoints in the area of the Jetřichovice rocks in the territory of the České Švýcarsko national park. Emphasis is placed on modern methods of topographical rock mapping and large-scale digital cartography to represent sandstone rock formations and man-made objects on them. Part of the thesis is the presentation of basic information about the locality from the point of view of geology, geomorphology and history, description of individual methods suitable for data collection in sandstone rock relief and methods of depicting rocks on large-scale maps. Furthermore, a search of available maps and plans of specific rocks is carried out and the used method of rock representation is described. On the basis of the field research, thanks to drone photography, targeting using GNSS and final data revision using the Collector for ArcGIS application, data on locations of interest are obtained, which are further processed into a geodatabase. Subsequently, a custom character key design is created for individual objects. The practical output is the thematic atlas itself including the created maps together with accompanying texts and images. The maps are processed in the ArcGIS Pro...
Land cover changes in Bohemian Switzerland using remote sensing data
Lihanová, Kristýna ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Součková, Jana (referee)
Land cover changes in Bohemian Switzerland using remote sensing data Abstract The purpose of this project was to classify land cover in The National Park Bohemian Schwitzerland from LAMDSAT data (1999, 2002, 2009), FORMOSAT data (2006) and QuickBird data (2009). Data used in this paper are described in details. The method used for images classification was method of unsupervised classification in Geomatica program. Created classes were merged into the final five classes. An Assessment of accuracy of classification showed that results don't reflect reality. Mixed forests are the biggest problem because they can be mistaken for coniferous or deciduous forests. Classification results were smoothed low pass filer and converted into a vector formats in ArcGIS program. For the years 2006 and 2009 was counted the vegetation indexes NDVI and LAI. Results showed that the densest vegetation is in deciduous forests. Changes in land cover were assessed in two ways. Shares of each class were calculated for all years. Overlays layers are created in ArcGIS. Overlap was conducted between 1999 and 2002 and between 1999 and 2009. Most changes were found between the coniferous and mixed forests. These changes are caused by the inaccuracies in classification. Key words: land cover, Bohemian Switzerland, forest, Landsat,...
Děčín and its Hinterland in the Middle Ages
Vodáková, Martina ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Velímský, Tomáš (referee)
The diploma thesis examines Děčín with its surroundings in the Middle Ages. It explores primarily the medieval roads on the borderline of Bohemia and Saxony, more specifically the left side shoreline routes between Děčín and Pirna. The reconstruction of the road network is summarized in a register of routes and a map. The locations of the findings obtained from men with detectors strikingly coincide with the routes. These findings are summed up in an attached catalogue. This coincidence implies that the detected findings might have been directly related to the routes. Attention is given to the functioning of forest complexes taking as an example a probe into the landscape on the borderline of Bohemian Switzerland and The Lusatian Mountains. Furthermore, I complete and correct some older ideas about the nature and structure of a vanished town on Mariánská louka. I put forward relative and absolute chronology of ceramics based on archaeological research conducted between 2007 and 2008. It refers to the beginnings, development and decline of the town situated on Mariánská louka. Keywords: the Middle Ages, settlement, medieval town and its hinterland, Děčín, Bohemian Switzerland, communication systems, contact studies, non-agricultural landscape

Influence of postwar political and social changes on tourism in Bohemian Switzerland
Nádvorníková, Markéta ; Chalupecký, Petr (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to analyze the tourism in the Czechoslovak border area after the World War II to the end of the sixties. The area of the Bohemian Switzerland was chosen for the basis of the analysis. The first part includes an outline of the development of the tourism during the 19th and the early 20th century. Afterwards some important changes of the interwar period are examined, followed by impacts of postwar political and social changes. The thesis has confirmed the hypothesis that the development of the region's tourism was much more substantially affected by the expulsion of Germans from the border area than by the subsequent regime change in 1948. Based on available data, the analytical part of the thesis includes a comparison between the interwar and postwar periods from the point of view of the performance and position of the state and non-state organizations for the tourism.

Specifika rozvoje venkova v pohraničních regionech na příkladu Českého Švýcarska
Matějíčková Edrová, Martina ; Kadeřábková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Jetmar, Marek (referee)
The subjects of my thesis are the specifics of the rural municipalities in the Czech borderland. More specifically it focuses on the development potential of a selected part of the region of Bohemian Switzerland. The theoretical part deals with definition of the terms countryside, borderland and periphery which helps to better define the selected region. As a basis for further examination serves the provided common characteristics of the Czech countryside along with an assessment of the individual specifics of the selected region caused by the historical development of the countryside. The practical part consists of a comprehensive description of the Bohemian Switzerland region, including a questionnaire inquiry. Results and findings resulting from the inquiry are further elaborated through a managed interview with the mayor of a selected municipality. The goal of the thesis is to analyse the development potential of the region and the effectiveness of the activities of mayors of the individual municipalities with regard to the region's potential.
