Hanáková, Sascha ; Rozwalka, Szymon (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis Not Only Human deals with the design of an object whose primary function is to fill a gap on Hlinky Street, in the wider centre of Brno. Currently, there are three garages and a temporary warehouse building on the plot in question, and the thesis envisages their removal. The new building complements the existing development, while its height respects the scale of the surrounding buildings. The functional content of the proposed building is primarily housing, which is complemented by the function of a children's leisure centre and community spaces for the residents of the apartment building. The design seeks to link the urban fabric with the more relaxed nature of the countryside that surrounds the site to the north.

The proposal extends the city of Kroměříž into an undeveloped area. Newly proposed facilities in this area will bring various functions, from traditional housing and community living to multifunctional spaces and urban amenities such as groceries, bistros, cafés, libraries, fitness centers, or office spaces, creating an environment for active urban life. Within the block, there are parks, water areas, promenades, playgrounds, or workout areas. The proposal introduces housing to the location, such as traditional residential units, which are in constant demand, as well as a newly introduced concept of community living, financially accessible to people and families from various social or health disadvantaged groups, or for people who prefer to live in a social environment while maintaining privacy. In addition to housing, this complex brings multifunctional spaces to its surroundings, supporting small businesses in the area and providing them with an attractive space for the growth of their business, whether it be a restaurant, hair salon, or office spaces. A large number of educational institutions in the area provide an opportunity to create space for youth development, which is the focus of this proposal.

Lichý, Erik ; Kaftan, Martin (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create an urban ensemble on site surrounded by Rybářská and Poříčí street and on a nearby brownfield that is in place of a former factory “Kras”. A part of the thesis is also a design of two chosen buildings in the designed development. As a part of the solution of one of the designed residential blocks, attention is paid to one of the corner houses, which is supported to bring a student dormitory with a place for coworking to the area. The second element making up the given block is terraced development of smaller apartment buildings, the so-called townhouse. One of the main ideas was the effort to naturally connect the new development to the existing development and at the same time to adapt to the newly emerging embank of the river Svratka.
Koprivnice 3.0 - Housing A++
Bubeníková, Zuzana ; Rusín, Tomáš (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed at the strategic plan for new use of a plot owned by the town of Kopřivnice, which formerly accomodated exterior handball courts with adjacent facilities and a restaurant, the so-called “Házeňák”. The design follows up the pre-diploma project, which analyses the building theory of socialist urban planning, precisely regarding the zoned city and its influence on the form of the town Kopřivnice as well as the life of its inhabitants. The master planning of the choosen plot relies on the alternation of free urban space and buildings of adequate scale, which respects the existing restaurant building. The typology of the designed buildings combines administration, commercial ground floor and residential floors with the access to roof terraces. The detail of the choosen development strategy is demonstrated on the design of an apartment building which implements the “Baugruppe” construction model consisting of twelve model households. The individual requirements of these households are reflected in the separate layouts of the apartments. The materiality of this apartment building reacts to the observation of the surrounding development and an unmistakeable character of the town. The design of the facade also takes into account the individuality of the households and dynamically reacts to the life in the new neighborhood.

The subject of the thesis is the design of a residential building of the Baugruppe type. These are small-sized apartments that are affordable for young families as well as individuals. The conceptual design is based on the unconventional principle of maisonette apartments in our region. It aims to evoke the experience of living in a single family home, with significantly lower financial expenses associated with its maintenance. The thesis builds upon analyses and knowledge acquired in the pre-thesis work completed in the previous semester.

Mičundová, Katarína ; Wasilkowska, Alexandra (referee) ; Kepiński, Kacper Ignacy (advisor)
The aim of the project is to interpret the elements of Vietnamese models of living in the Central European urban fabric and cultural context in order to provide housing for a mixed nationality community with a strong focus on Vietnamese traders from the Bakalarska market. Asia Town, located in the Włochy district, has become a major centre of employment and community activities for the Vietnamese community in Warsaw, introducing a new urbanisation model and architectural character. With this project, housing will become a coherent part of the new Polish-Vietnamese neighbourhood, focusing on the principle of living together in one community and sharing space. The diploma project will focus on the design proposal of the inclusive and affordable housing for two distinct communities of different national backgrounds. The challenge is to find common language and create a haven for the newly emerging community of people.
