Comparison of Personal Income Tax in the Czech Republic and Austria

The bachelor thesis compares personal income taxation in the Czech Republic and Austria. The starting point of the thesis is the formulation of the tax systems of these countries. Subsequently, the taxation of taxpayers from dependent and self-employed activities will be compared using model examples. Eventually, the possible tax optimizations in each country will be pointed out.

The other part is targeted of the property market. The practical part deals with valuation of real estates in selected ways. In thesis attachment is processed an exemplar of the evalution report for a flat according to the standards and the methodologies used to by the evaluation in the Austria.

The reaction of selected Czech and German periodicals of the First Czechoslovak Republic to the Anschluss of Austria

This bachelor thesis explores the Anschluss of Austria and its media image in selected Czech and German periodicals of First Czechoslovak Republic. The aim of the thesis is to present the narratives that shaped the news coverage of this historical event, and at the same time to show the influence of state-controlled mechanisms on the form of news about the Anschluss. The first chapter of the thesis introduces the media landscape of the First Republic, consideringthe connection of the Czechoslovak News Agency (ČTK) to state authorities or censorship measures during this period.In particular,it focuses on the phenomenon of party and non-party newspapers, as it is party and non-party periodicals across the political spectrum that are analysed in the second chapter of the thesis.In this section, the circumstances of the Anschluss are first briefly described, then the thesis analyses the impact of this situation on Czechoslovakia's international position and diplomatic relations. The analysis itself relies on archival findings that document the communication between the ČTK and state institutions during March 1938, and uses these findings to evaluate the content and wording of the articles in the various periodicals.Most of the periodicals agree that Czechoslovakia was not in danger after the Anschluss...

Impact of retirement age on the shadow economies of Central European countries: the case of Austria and Germany

The bachelor thesis is focused on investigation the underlying causes of the shadow economy in Austria and Germany, with a particular emphasis on the retirement age. The research data was obtained from the World Bank Data Bank and OECD estimates related to retirement age. To conduct the research methodology and analyze the data, the MIMIC model and Stata 17 SE software were employed. The thesis results provide insights into the factors that influence the shadow economy, particularly in relation to the retirement age. Additionally, the thesis proposes methods to mitigate the adverse effects of the shadow economy growth from the retirement age perspective.
The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on meeting the objectives of the EU's Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 in the Czech Republic and Austria

This Master's Thesis investigates the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 in Austria and Czechia, with a focus on the strategy's goals of freedom from violence and stereotypes, thriving in a gender-equal economy, and equal leadership throughout society. The research adopts Sylvia Walby's theory of gender regimes to provide context, which highlights the role of the state in shaping gender equality outcomes. Austria and Czechia are identified as social democratic and neoliberal gender regimes, respectively. This mixed-methods study employs thematic analysis and comparative case study and combines qualitative data gathered through ethnographic methods and quantitative data from open statistics. The thesis finds that Czechia operates as a neoliberal gender regime, with a limited role of the state in supporting women at risk of gender-based violence. In contrast, Austria's social democratic gender regime has provided robust support during the pandemic, with a centralized system of shelters and a state-wide 24/7 women's helpline. The study contributes to the development of gender regime theory and offers a nuanced understanding of the pandemic's impact on gender equality in different gender regimes.
