Language of advertising

This work is devoted to the Russian language advertising, which examines in an independent system. It aims are analyzing the text of Russian advertising in terms of its information and formal structure. It focuses on a specific aesthetic qualities of language, which the text uses. Work is further focused on the categorization of neologisms and neologisation of the Russian advertising. Next focus is on loanwords from the English language. Used research methods are descriptive and comparative. The outcome of this work is the systematization of information and the formal structure in the advertising text, we have also been shown to frequent infiltration of artistic means in the language of advertising and its active neologisation. Work can be used as a suitable basis for specifics in Russian advertising texts or a different language studies, possibly for development of marketing strategies and marketing research.
Spoken Danish in the Contemporary Danish Literature and its Translation into Czech

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the methods used by translators when translating spoken language in contemporary Danish fiction into Czech. In the first chapter, the Czech translation tradition is defined. This tradition influences Czech usage and tendencies. The second chapter introduces the features of stylized language reflected in literature written in Czech. As will be shown, these are mainly lexicological and morphological features and related stylistical means. The following chapters are devoted to the analysis of individual features of stylized language and their translation into Czech. Discussed are loanwords, diminutives, expletives, morphological changes, realia and politeness. The translated units are compared with Czech translation tradition and literature written in Czech.
Anglicisms in German Media

Title: Anglicisms in German Media This bachelor thesis examines the occurrence of Anglicisms in the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung with the focus on the sport and political section. The aim of this thesis is to outline the frequency and the form in which Anglicisms are employed in the sections in question and to what extent they are integrated in the German language. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines and delimitates the term Anglicism. The second chapter deals with the historical development of the German language including the influences of foreign languages. . The third chapter describes Anglicisms from the point of view of orthography, morphology, lexicology, syntax and stylistics. The last chapter of the theoretical part introduces the daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. The practical part is based on the research of the daily Süddeutsche Zeitung. The first chapter examines selected Anglicisms from the sport section, the second chapter from the political section. They are examined from the etymological and linguistic point of view with respect to their integration in the German lexicon. Conclusion summarizes the outcome of this study. Current girl's and women's magazines from the linguistic point of view

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the overall number of six selected magazines from the linguistic point of view, from which three magazines are for girls (except for the magazine Bravo whose target group includes also boys) and three for women. First, each title is introduced - the introduction covers such information as periodicity, target group, circulation and also thematic orientation of corresponding magazines. After the introduction come individual analyses of the magazines. At the end of the thesis the author pays attention to phenomena which are typical for magazines of that kind or which appear throughout all selected magazines. The author applied an interdisciplinary point of view because it is not possible to abstract away from philosophical and psychological linguistic disciplines (semantics, psycholinguistics, and pragmatics). The work puts special emphasis on the lexical level but it does not avoid morphological and stylistic phenomena. The syntactic level is dealt with representatively in one girl's and one women's magazine because the syntactic level of other magazines does not differ much from what has been written within the chosen titles. In What Ways Is the English Language CHanging the World?

This thesis deals with the growing importance of the English language in the world and social changes associated with it. The theoretical part is devoted to the historical development of English as a global language and its geographic expansion, as well as current changes connected with the English language. It is estimated that in the future the number of English speakers from other countries than the English-speaking ones will increase, and that this trend will affect the character of the language. The practical part mentions statistics related to information technology, language skills of Europeans and learning English in the Czech Republic. They are followed by examples of Anglicisms used in Czech, German and other languages. An Internet survey among primary school pupils, teenagers and adults is also an important part of the thesis. Detailed results are presented in the appendices.
Strategy of using the lexical item in international journals relating to the mode (a comparison of Spanish, Czech and English versions).

The thesis is about strategy of using the lexical item in international journals (Elle, Grazia, Company magazine). It contains the comparism of the English, Spanish and Czech versions of the above mentioned fashion magazines. The thesis deals with the contemporary usage of naming the parts of clothes. It also deals with anglicisms, loanwords and loan translations. At the end I will also mention some information about the magazines and the persuasive function of the language, which is closely connected to advertising.
Vocabulary and Anglicisms in older children at middle school level

This Diploma Thesis deals with anglicisms and their frequency in the contemporary Czech language from the point of view of older children at middle school level. It is primarily focused on the understanding and usage of popular and frequent anglicisms. Thesis theoretical part covers general information about language, enriching of the lexicon and it compares Czech language with English. The practical part introduces the results of a questionnaire survey, which was carried out at four elementary schools in the Czech Republic. The aim of the survey was to map the ability of older children at middle school level to understand the English expressions. It was also concerned in their attitudes towards adaptation of words from English. It also touches the usage of anglicisms in the lessons of Czech language at middle school level. Examples of practical exercises are provided. The final part of the Project sums up the reached conclusions. The Diploma Thesis attachments contain the questionnaire and the practical exercises.
