Performance Analysis of IBM POWER8 Processors
Jelen, Jakub ; Kešner, Filip (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
This paper describes the IBM Power8 system in comparison to the Intel Xeon processors, widely used in today’s solutions. The performance is not evaluated only on the whole system level but also on the level of threads, cores and a memory. Different metrics are demonstrated on typical optimized algorithms. The benchmarked Power8 processor provides extremely fast memory providing sustainable bandwidth up to 145 GB/s between main memory and processor, which Intel is unable to compete. Computation power is comparable (Matrix multiplication) or worse (N-body simulation, division, more complex algorithms) in comparison with current Intel Haswell-EP. The IBM Power8 is able to compete Intel processors these days and it will be interesting to observe the future generation of Power9 and its performance in comparison to current and future Intel processors.
Analysis of the Economic Results of the E.ON Energie a.s. Company Using Time Series
Sláma, Hynek ; Doubravský, Karel (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
This thesis analyzes the economic and performance comparisons with time series of E.ON Energie a.s. The theoretical part of this work deals primarily with time series and regression analysis. The aim of this paper is to analyze the sales achieved and the reasons for any decline in sales and business performance to continue to repeat it. And then determine the prognosis of sales and business performance in the future.

Selected physical abilites and golf skills in relation to the performance in elite junior golf players
Brožka, Matěj ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Halada, Andrej (referee) ; Zháněl, Jiří (referee)
Title: Selected physical abilities and golf skills in relation to the performance in elite junior golf players Objectives: The aim of the study was to objectify the level of golf skills and physical abilities and to identify the inter-relationships between the individual determinants of performance during the long-term development of elite junior golf players. The sub-objectives of the thesis were to: develop a valid and reliable golf skills test battery; objectify the level of physical abilities in relation to energy generation during the golf swing; objectify the level of individual golf skills in relation to game performance; and identify key determinants of performance over the long-term development of elite junior golf players. Methods: The thesis consists of one standardization study and two longitudinal-survey studies involving a total of 30 elite junior golfers (13-18 years old). Perennial year testing was conducted in laboratory and field conditions. Participants were measured in the level of individual golf skills using a developed golf skills test battery and also underwent measurements of anthropometric parameters, body composition parameters and physical abilities, more specifically muscle strength of the extensors and flexors of the knee and explosive muscle strength during vertical...
Athletic training. Personal performance development and training.
Broda, Michal ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Krátký, Petr (referee)
Athletic training. Personal performance development and training. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze performance development and training of Michal Broda during his existing athletic career with focus on training after year 2004. We investigated the use of heart rate monitoring for training optimization. We also discussed training adequacy in terms of annual training cycle. Methods: In our work we used empirical methods of pedagogical research. We obtained different qualitative and quantitative indicators from training documentation and analysed them using mathematical and statistical methods. Heart rate data were proccessed with Polar Precision Performance™ software. This software automatically calculates total loads in each metabolic zone, number of training entries and total training time, elapsed distance, burned calories, total power, speed, maximum and minimum heart rate. Results: We came to a conclusion that Michal Broda's training has been continually improving. We observed a training load increase in both general and specific indicators. We didn't confirm a positive relationship between total distance runned for special endurance and 800-m running performance. Heart rate monitoring helped to find optimal training loads and thus improve running performance. Keywords: 800 meter...
Analýza výkonnosti klasických (nepákových) a pákových ETF obchodovaných na americkém trhu
Ruml, Václav
This thesis deals with exchange traded funds (ETFs). The theoretical part is focused on familiarization with the issue from a broader perspective in the form of collective investment characteristics, leading through the current trends in this area. This part is followed by chapter about ETF, including specific areas. Selected classic and leveraged ETFs are analyzed in the practical part for the period between 2010 and 2015. Funds are analyzed on the basis of NAV in the terms of return and risk represented by selected indicators. Results are commented in a broader context in summary and discussion chapter as well as recommendations.
Využití rozkladu pákových ETF při tvorbě investiční strategie
Švábenský, Jakub
The diploma thesis deals with comparison performance of leverage and inverse exchange traded funds and their underlying assets in the USA. The theoretical part is focusing on the description of collective investment, mutual funds, exchange traded funds and overview of the main conclusions of empirical studies which are focused on the similar topic. The empirical part is focused on comparison performance of leverage and inverse ETF on given investment horizons according to the yield-risk indicator in 2014–2019. Based on result is recommended the most appropriate investment strategy for each underlying asset.
