Metal at the time of normalization and the first years of the 90s and its response in the print media

The bachelor thesis deals with the image of the musical genre metal in selected Czech print media in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The thesis also includes chapters dealing with the history and characteristics of metal and the (sub)culture around it in the Czech Republic from the early 1980s to the early 1990s.
"Oi! Warning" and "Dazlak - Skinhead" - Skinheads as a threat for German society?

This thesis deals with the German skinhead subculture in the 1990s and its presentation in the contemporary films Dazlak - Skinhead and Oi! Warning. Firstly, the theoretical part describes the origin and attributes of the skinhead subculture in Great Britain and its evolution in Germany. Afterwards, it focuses on the two films, puts them into the context of the history of the skinhead movement in Germany and introduces their storyline and characteristics. Furthermore, the presentation of skinheads in these films is analysed. The basis of the analysis are four theses, which the specialist literature defines for the skinheads characteristic: tendency to right-wing extremism, violence and aggression, the working-class origin and specific lifestyle characterized by listening to skinhead music, drinking alcohol and attending parties and concerts. Most of these statements are confirmed by the two films. However, both of them present the subculture in a different way. The black and white film Oi! Warning does not focus on the issue of right-wing extremism but on violence, aggression and skinhead lifestyle. For its overall aesthetics, tragic ending and the negative character of the "real" skinhead Koma, it can be argued that this film presents the subculture in a negative way. Feuilleton in Lidové noviny sinc 1990 till 1993

Diploma thesis "Feuilleton in Lidové noviny sinc 1990 till 1993" deals with anchoring of traditional journalistic genre in new medial and social context in early 90s of the 20th century . The main aim is to map the systematic development of feuilleton mainly through the determination of the most prominent authors of this period and a systematic analysis of their texts. By this way you can find out how important place this journalistic genre in newspapers held . Although the feuilleton is considered to be a genre that should primarily deal with timeless themes , in a wild post- revolutionary period of 90s feuilleton have to deal with a range of various new social trends , social problems and complications in context of newly emerging political representation. Essay with shall deal with the situation not only as a sober critic but also as a mapping tool time. LN for such work are extremly useful because they have to reestablish them selfs in new official media market in totaly new conditions of market economies . It is therefore an extremely dynamic environment , at which we can illustrate the newly emerging trends. The work also includes a comparison with feuilletons from the end of the samizdat period of Lidové noviny.
