Project Education in the Lessons of Czech Language and Literature at a Higher Level of Czech Primary School and at a Secondary School

This theses concern with project-based learning with an emphasis on the subject Czech language and literature on higher level of czech primary school and secondary schools. It's purpose is to comprehend ideas of this teaching method and current state of its use, as well as to prepare analysis of chosen projects (or project ideas for teaching) in the Czech language and literature. The final goal of this thesis is to design own projects, which could be used by teachers in their praxis. Theses thus consists of two parts. The first on is theoretical and focuses on project-based learning in general, the history of project-based learning, it's planning and preparation. The second part, which is empirical, describes on a qualitative level and critically evaluates some projects and suggests own projects too. This theses could provide valuable material for both experienced and novice teachers in the preparation and implementation of project education at Czech schools. The importance of extracurricular education in Geography on the 2nd grade of primary school (using the example of activities of the Pionyr organization)

The bachelor theses deals with the extracurricular education of geography on the 2nd grade of the primary school with emphasis on activities of the Pionyr organization. The main goal of this thesis is to find the meaning of the extracurricular education of Geography and creating a few practical activities focused on the Pionyr organization. The theoretical part deals with the Framework Education Programme for Primary Education, the extracurricular education and the Pionyr organization. The practical part includes the summary of events that took place during 2011-2016 under the Pionyr group Kamarad from Jihlava. The events that have geographical aspects are then analysed with respect to their contents, classification in the Framework Education Programme for Primary Education in Czech Republic, and cross-curricular subjects. The author created a few new activities and extended some of the past activities on the basis of this analysis. These activities can be later used during the events of the Pionyr organisation.
The Teaching Regional Geography of America in Czech and Foreign Environment at Lower Secondary School

The main topic of this thesis is teaching regional geography of America in Czech and foreign environment at lower secondary school. The main objective is to elaborate an analysis of approaches and different concepts of teaching in the monitored countries, such as the Czech Republic, the USA and the United Kingdom. Part of the thesis is a didactical analysis of Czech textbooks and workbooks of geography for lower secondary school and their subsequent comparison with available foreign literature. The analysis is primarily focused on the content of the regional geography of America. An important part of the thesis is a definition of basic principles in the curriculum documents in chosen countries. In order to create ideas about the real form of geography teaching, a survey based on structured interviews was conducted in the form of a semi-structured interview with teachers of geography of selected schools.
Prose with a girl character from the beginning 90s of the 20th century

This dissertation focuses on prose featuring a girl heroine from the beginning of the 1990s and it is aimed at upper primary school pupils. It deals with the quality literature and the pulp fiction of the Czech literature for girls. The literature for girls has themes such as eating disorders, sexual criminality and travelling. The analysis and the collation of the selected books and the most commonly used reading-books are also part of this thesis. The dissertation also captures the historical development of the prose with the girl character, the attribute of the Czech book market and changes in behaviour and in the body. Part of the practical part is a questionnaire focused on the reading experience of girls of the older school age, in particular from the point of view of the pupils and more briefly from the point of view of the teachers.
Analysis of chosing text into reading books for 2nd grade of elementary school (focused on 9th class)

Resume Principle of this bachelor labor is to analyze texts in reading books for pupils of age 11 to 15. It is focused on adolescent reader mainly. I tried to find out whether articles in reading books have respected a pupil as a specific reader with specific needs, interests and preferences. I analyzed six different reading books in my labor. Each of them represented another author's style of writing. My analyses on reading books have been more complex. First of all I have made short characteristics and next I closely analyze articles from different aspects, e.g. representation of national and world literature, representation of female and male writer etc. Part of my labor was a survey among pupils of ninth class which compared theoretical information's gained from specialized publication, information from questionnaires and the present state of adolescents reading. I tried to find out what is the interest in books or reading in a sequence on texts in reading books for pupils of age 11-15.
The usability of postcrossing game in regional geography teaching in Junior-high school

The thesis deals with the possibility of using the game "Postcrossing" in teaching regional geography at the 2nd stage of primary schools. The main goal of this thesis is to create overview of basic principles and rules of the game and to develop proposals for educational activities resulting from the "Postcrossing" game. The thesis also includes a practical part, which contains the description of problems and positive outcomes that were revealed during the practical realization. The result is a list of suggestions for classroom activities that are applicable in school practice.
Potential of Protected Landscape Area Křivoklátsko for environmental education in elementary school

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out the importance of Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Křivoklátsko for environmental education in elementary school. Firstly we carried out the field research thanks to which we discovered the information about total character of area of interest as well as the particular nature trails in PLA Křivoklátsko. Owing to information collecting in field we asked Elementary School Křivoklát for cooperation. The theoretical part deals with role of this topic in curricular documents which are validated in the Czech Republic. We read carefully the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, the School Education Programme and the Thematic Plans of Elementary School Křivoklát and chosen textbooks with valid clause by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. On the basis of all gained information we formed a questionnaire and it was made the pilot research between pupils who are attending the sixth and the ninth class in Elementary School Křivoklát. This research of pupils´ knows ledges concerns nature conservation in the Czech Republic and in the local region, PLA Křivoklátsko. With respect to the results of pilot research and other gained information about the area of interest it was subjectively evaluated the importance of PLA Křivoklátsko for the environmental education in elementary school. Subsequently there were suggested some subject matters for wider using PLA Křivoklátsko in teaching which may be the item of more detailed describing in diploma thesis.
Proposals for project teaching local region at lower secondary school (Lipno region as an example)

The thesis deals with teaching local region using project method in Geography classes at lower secondary school. The aim is to create a teaching material proposal. This material is a project for teaching local region, using Lipno region as an example. The theoretical part focuses on basic principles of project teaching method, its characteristics and the issue of teaching local region. In the practical part there are worksheets. These worksheets are author's final teaching methods proposals.
Where is the food? Tutorial for 2nd elementaryschool - Workbook (animal products).

The aim of this thesis is to determine the possibilities of education and familiarity with the issues of animal products in relation to the health of 2nd grade elementary school. The aim of the study was to analyze the issue, suggesting graphically process and subsequently verify the educational program in the form of a workbook titled "Where is the food? (Animal products)." The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of animal products (meat, fish, milk, eggs and honey), then the definition of a workbook and 2nd grade students of elementary school, including the concept of education for this age group. The research deals with the very formation of the workbook and its verification in elementary schools. Using questionnaire survey has revealed the level of awareness of pupils in the age group of animal products and the effectiveness of the educational program created by the teachers. Because of the identified data were drawn conclusions and recommendations for practice, pointing to greater suitability classification attractive and engaging educational programs in the school curriculum.
Textiles as a specific medium in art activities at 2nd degree of primary (practical-theoretical thesis)

The thesis focuses on textile as a specific medium in arts lessons at the second grade of elementary schools. The theoretical part describes the role of textile in culture. It explores the utilisation of textile in arts and in historical context. It also tracks the work of important textile designers, graphic artists and pedagogues Karla Cikánová, Jana Skarlantová and Taťána Šteiglová. It emphasizes the advantages and the didactic aspects of utilising textile in arts and reflects on the possibilities and opportunities of using textile in art lessons in the Czech Republic. The practical part includes eight authorial lessons focusing on using textile as an educational element at the second grade of elementary school. A part of the thesis also reflects on how they were partially put in practice.
