Third republic in Podebrady

The proposed diploma thesis "The Third Republic in Podebrady" focuses on town Podebrady during years 1945-1948. The work provides the reader with a comprehensive overview of events at the end of the WWII. It also describes the period of liberation and the arrival of Red Army and Allied troops. Furthermore, the thesis investigates various events, that took place in Podebrady in the time of so-called Third Republic. The establishment of Municipal and District National Comitte is explored as well as their activities. Besides that, the work deals with actions of the National Security Corps (SNB) and with the development in schools and in industry in Podebrady, especially with the process of nationalization in glass and spa industries.
Personnel policy in Czechoslovak radio 1945 - 1948

The aim of this work is to describe how the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia influenced the personnel policy of the Czechoslovak Radio and thereby interfered into radio broadcasting in the years 1945 - 1948. In the introductory chapters thesis focuses on political and economic developments in Czechoslovakia after 1945, with a significant part describing the parliamentary elections in May, 1946. In the following chapters thesis describes the development of media, which had entirely a new socially responsible role. At the same time in the post-war Czechoslovakia there was a prevailing opinion that the media should not be a subject of uncontrolled business anymore, but rather should be under state control. The main part of the thesis describes the development of Radio. At that time the only mass medium also obtained a new role - in the past broadcasting had primarily a entertainment feature, during the Third Republic Radio became an imporant organizer of public life. Under the circumstances various groups had an interest to gain influence in Radio. Mostly communists were successful. It was easier, because they managed to occupy several crucial functions of the management of Radio. Periodical Press in České Budějovice 1945-1948

The thesis Periodical Press in České Budějovice 1945 - 1948 focuses on the specifics of the development of periodicals published in České Budějovice in the post-war era from 1945 to 1948. The first part of the thesis deals with the changes in political, economic and cultural spheres in České Budějovice after World War II because it is significant context that influenced the organization and the structure of the national and regional press. For a systematic interpretation of the media situation the thesis captures the characteristics of the periodical press in České Budějovice published in the period between 1938 and 1945. The broadcasting of the radio station was very important during the last days of World War II, because it formed the basis of the regional editorial office of the Czechoslovak Radio. Therefore it was not possible to omit this topic. Specific changes in the organization and structure of the periodicals in České Budějovice in the post-war period are elaborated in the fourth and fifth part of the thesis. Forming of political system in Písek 1945 - 1948

The thesis submitted deals with the period of 1945 {--} 1948, the period of the end of the World War II and the beginning of the communist regime. It follows the events in the Czechoslovak Republic since its liberation by the American and Soviet Armies, the punishment of the collaborators and the withdrawal of the German inhabitants, the establishment of the National Front and People{\crq}s committees as new administrative and authority units, further the Constitutive National Assembly elections in May of 1946, gradual fall of the National Front, communist coup d{\crq}état of February 1948 and subsequent May election, with all the events focused on the region of the chosen South Bohemian town {--} Písek. The events start to be followed in May of 1945, in the long{--}awaited days of liberation from Nazism. It deals with the restoration of autonomous authorities in the form of the Local and the District people{\crq}s committee as well as the restoration of the activities of political parties which peaked during the election campaign of 1946 reflecting in the results of the election. It also pays attention to the disputes among the parties and their members that culminate in the February events of 1948 and oncoming new socio{--}political arrangements. Least but not last, it also deals with a severe post{--}war situation of the Czech inhabitants, supply cut-off difficulties as well as the restoration of the remained town ruins.
