Product innovation for cyclists in the Šumava National Park
PŮBALOVÁ, Kateřina
Thanks to its diverse landscape, Šumava National Park is suitable for active tourism. The aim of NP Šumava is to offer quality services to visitors in the area of catering, accommodation and orientation on cycling routes. This bachelor thesis will give readers an insight into the issues of the tourism product for cyclists and subsequent innovations. Furthermore, the reader will learn whether there are differences in the behaviour of the selected target groups.
Přirozená obnova lesa po disturbanci lýkožroutem smrkovým \kur{ (Ips typographus} L.)
ROTOVÁ, Alžběta
This master's thesis focuses on evaluation of natural regeneration of forest in the non-intervention zone near Březník. Spectral data and spectral vegetation indices are examined and put in relation to terrain data for evaluation of the forest recovery. The highest gradation of bark beetle in the study area occurred between 1995 and 1998. Since then the tree defoliation accelerated the natural forest recovery. I assessed the forest recovery in 15 research plots and compared the recovery with the data collected by the Šumava national park in 2008 and 2009. Results of terrain measurement showed slight decrease in number of seedlings and saplings compared to years 2008 and 2009. Comparison of the field recovery data with the spectral indices revealed a regression relation between the natural regeneration and the vegetation indices. When comparing these data, the most suitable index for evaluating the natural regeneration was the index FRI2. The optimal time within the vegetation period for the evaluation of natural forest recovery using spectral data was also tested in this thesis. Results showed the optimum is at the end of spring and at the end of vegetation season. The highest rate of natural regeneration in our study area is on the west slopes of area Mokrůvky and on the south-west slopes exposed to high amounts of sunlight. Areas of closed forest formations are followed by areas where the forest regeneration is pure but the herbaceous vegetation is greatly developed. Results of the thesis show that spectral data and spectral indices are suitable for evaluation of forest recovery. The remote sensing methods bring the systematic data coverage for better understanding of the forest processes.
Cross-border cooperation in the Czech - Bavarian border area on the concrete example of the Šumava National Park/Bavarian Forest
BROMOVÁ, Pavlína
The subject of the final thesis is to introduce Czech and German cooperation, especially between regions Bavaria and South Bohemia. The unions and organizations that support this cooperation are also introduced there. The thesis deals with legal normatives, which regulate this interaction. The next chapter is a summary of all euroregions in Czech and German borders. Important part of thesis is the chapter about Euroregion Šumava Bavarian forest Mühlviertel, where is solved Czech-Bavaria part of region, mainly. No less important chapter deals with partnership and financing of National park Šumava and Bavarian forest. The thesis presents concrete projects of this cooperation as well. Common plans and aims by 2020 are mentioned there. The final chapter provides an overview of development of projects focus as well as future progression of these two national parks, through Pavel Bečka, coordinator of Czech-German cooperation in National park Šumava.
The Regeneration Stand and HeighIncrement 10 Years after a Dieback Caused by Bark Beetle Outbreak
Zenáhlíková, J. ; Svoboda, M. ; Wild, Jan ; Kopecký, Martin ; Macek, Martin
In 1990s the bark beetle outbreak caused a dieback of mountain spruce forest in Sumava National Park. We analyzed structure of mature stands and natural regeneration more than 10 years after a dieback in 1998. After that forests have been left without human interventions. Nine square plots (400 m(2)) were measured by technology FiledMap. It was examined: trees, snags, stumps and regeneration. Tree layer is completely destroyed, there are only standing stumps, snags and lying logs. There are any mature trees. The dominant species was spruce (Picea abies), only one living rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) was on P60. There were only 25 livings trees higher than 3 m on all plots together. In regeneration density was dominant spruce - 97 %, rowan was represented with 4 %. The number of regeneration differed between plots and covers variation in density which ranched between 1260 12000 ind/ha. Height of regeneration has normal distribution with mean 46 cm, which agrees with age of 10 years. This indicates majority of regeneration established before or in time of stand decomposition. Striking was minimal rate of young individuals, which means lower generative restoration in phase after dieback of tree layer. Height increment increases with increasing height of regeneration. Stand openings lead to expansion of herbal vegetation.
Využití koní v lesním hospodářství na počátku 21. století
TROJANOVÁ, Denisa
The aim of this diploma thesis was to carry out an analysis of current use of horses in forestry within the South Bohemian region. The diploma thesis contains a brief introduction to the breeding of cold-blooded horses in the Czech Republic, the conditions for breeding cold-blooded horses, the basics of training and harnessing of cold-blooded horses, a description of work done by the horse in a forest and last but not least the thesis presents the issue of causing damage on forest vegetation, soil and soil water while gathering wood. The analysis of common use of horses in forestry has been carried out via the survey method and personal visits. Evaluation and subsequent information analysis was carried out with the focus on the economic side of using horses in forestry and on the estimate of the perspective of their further use. Simplified maps of the South Bohemian Region are a part of the diploma thesis, portraying stables where there are working horses being boarded and capturing possible locations where horses may be used for forestry purposes.
A Property Rights Concept of The National Park Šumava
Krejčí, Lucie ; Slavík, Jan (advisor) ; Slavíková, Lenka (referee)
The theme of the work is the management of the Sumava National Park. Publicized problems concerning the intervention rate, zoning, construction, management and status of local communities are conceived in the context of state ownership of the park and its public administration. Institutional change is possibly the logical solution. The cause of conflict in the SNP is searching with the use of stakeholder analysis. The method takes the form of interviews with representatives of interested parties, followed by a synthesis of observed attitudes and opinions. Despite some differences and divergent views on specific issues they see as the main obstacle agreements failure and legislation disregard, so it is a socio-political problem. The following is an economic aspect (lack of funds and poor management of them) and environmental (especially the form of zoning). Regime management change, however, they do not evaluate as a solution of the existing disagreements.
Site conditions influence on natural regeneration of Norway spruce forests in the Šumava Mts.
ČERMÁK, Martin
The main aim of my thesis was to evaluate natural regeneration status of Norway spruce forest stands on three research plots with different forest managment after windstorm disturbance in January 2007. In addition, an evaluation of micro-site conditions influence on germination and surviving of spruce seedlings and shade effects.Research work was carried out on the Černá hora Mt. in the Šumava Mts. from August to October 2008.
Site conditions effect on Norway spruce natural regeneration after windthrow on the Černá hora Mts. (National Park Šumava)
ČERMÁK, Martin
The main aim of my thesis was to evaluate natural regeneration status of Norway spruce on three research plots with different forest managment after windstorm disturbance in January 2007. In addition, evaluation of micro-site conditions and shade effects on germination and surviving of spruce seedlings and assessment of crown conditions in forest research plot was performed. Research work was carried out on the Černá hora Mt. in the Šumava Mts. in 2009 - 2010. Obtained results could provide information to help to decide the choice of management of forest stands after disturbance in protected areas.
Analysis the services of tourism in National park Šumava
PAHORECKÁ, Iva
The aim of my bachelor thesis was to conduct the analysis of the tourist services provided on the territory of the Šumava National Park, furthermore, to suggest its contingent innovation. The analysis focused on accommodation, food, transport services, shopping opportunities and other services. Further the layout analysis, comparison of municipalities, competition analysis and destination demand analysis was accomplished.
