Music information retrieval techniques for determining the place of origin of the Czech chamber and orchestral music interpretations

This diploma thesis is focused on the statistical analysis of chamber and orchestral classical music recordings composed by Czech authors. One of the chapters is dedicated to the description of a feature extraction process that precedes the statistical analysis. Techniques of Music Information Retrieval are used during several stages of this thesis. Databases used for analysis are described and pre-processing steps are proposed. A tool for synchronization of the recordings was implemented in MATLAB. Finally the system used for classification of recordings based on their geographical origin is proposed. The recordings are sorted by a binary classifier into two categories of Czech and world recordings. The first part of the statistical analysis is focused on individual analysis of features. The features are evaluated based on their discrimination strength. The second part of the statistical analysis is focused on feature selection, which can improve the overall accuracy of the binary classifier compared to the individual analysis of the features.

The fighter against revisionism. Václav Král in context of the Czech Marxist historiography

The thesis enagages in life and work the leading Czech historian in the second half of the 20th century. It doesn{\crq}t only try to describe a life and work of the scientist, it places him into the context of the development of the Czech Marxist historiography. It inquires into his statements, opinions and conviction. The author mostly used a rich personal fund of Václav Král, which is deposited in the Archives of the National Museum in Prague and then funds of the History Institute - Archives of the Charles University in Prague and the State Regional Archives in Hradec Králové. The other important sources are some of hundreds Král{\crq}s works. The author also used knowledges of the specialised literature, which describes history of historiography of the second half of the 20th century. Nobody has considered the personality of Václav Král in detail and his influence on the development of the Czech historiography yet and there are only rare informations about him. The author sees the biggest contribution in new and coherent knowledges, which the works grants. He opened a new topic in the history of historiography and pointed out certain questions, in which other historians can continue.

In the context of development of Czech- German and Czech-Polish relations in the region and other context of revolutionary changes in a structure of society during the industrialization in the second half of the 19th century. Bachelor thesis follows the situation from the point of view of one of players - Czech national writer František Sokol-Tůma. It concentrates on his identity, motivations, methods of his work and effect to contemporary society.

The current Czech economic diplomacy

The bachelor thesis "The current Czech economic diplomacy", focuses on the economic diplomacy as an important instrument of the Czech foreign policy. The aim is to analyze the current economic diplomacy of the Czech Republic and point out its importance. The hypothesis of this paper is to prove or disprove the rating of the Czech economic diplomacy in the last years as less successful than in the first twenty years after the establishment of the Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis concentrates on the government of Petr Nečas which often proclaimed the importance of economic diplomacy but the official documents were, in fact, not implemented.

The Cultural Diferences among World Regions in Relation to Tourism

Bachelor´s thesis deals with analysis of cultural differences among world regions in relation to tourism. A field investigation was made to find out the preferences and needs of potencial czech tourists. Furthemore, also analysis on the base of controlled questioning and controlled interview was made to ascertain the cultural differences and specifics. On the basis of the ascertained datas, there were suggested some products, which could help the czech tourists in the field of getting know about the chosen culture.
