Management of Informal Care
POSLUŠNÁ, Věra
Informal care is a care provided by a lay caregiver, who is usually a family member (husband/wife, daughter/son) or a neighbour and is provided in the natural home environment of the person being cared for. The main goal of the thesis is to find out how the issue of informal care is solved in the administrative district of the municipality with extended jurisdiction of České Budějovice in the context of health and social care. A partial goal is to find out the experiences of informal caregivers with caring for a close person. The thesis was prepared as part of the project of the Technological Agency of the Czech Republic, ÉTA program "Support of informal caregivers in the South Bohemian region through audiovisual means including virtual reality (no. TL03000518). A qualitative research strategy was chosen for the research part of the thesis. The interview method and the in-depth interview technique were chosen as the method. The data was processed by thematic analysis. The research group consisted of 11 informal caregivers who take care of a close person aged 65+ in a home environment in České Budějovice The research showed that informal care is addressed within the National Strategy for the Development of Social Services for the period 2016-2024. The South Bohemian Region deals with informal care within the medium-term plan for the development of social services of the South Bohemian Region for the period 2022-2024. The Statutory City of České Budějovice deals with informal care in the strategic framework R-Social Services Plan of České Budějovice for the period 2022-2024 and in the Action Plan of the R-Plan of Social Services České Budějovice 2022-2024 for the year 2024. The experiences of informal caregivers revealed barriers such as lack of information about health and social services, ignorance of social benefits and contributions, little awareness of support programs, especially at the beginning of caregiving. Research has shown that caregiving affects several areas of informal caregivers' lives.
Honza`s Winery
Lavička, Jan ; Konečná, Petra (referee) ; Králová, Zuzana (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a winery with accommodation facilities. The whole area consists of the main building, a building for storage of garden equipment and wooden cabins for lodging during summer time. The diploma thesis is mostly focused on the design of the main building with the winemaking facilities, five rooms on the second floor and technical background. All buildings in the area are appropriately placed considering the cardinal points and they are logically connected with each other by means of roads. The main building is fully provided with cellars where the largest part of the production and the sampling and presentation rooms are found. The shape of the floor plan displays a shape of the letter “u” with two above-ground floors. The whole second above-ground floor is created as a relaxation zone for the guests. Each room has its private balcony with a nice view of the neighbouring vineyards. The roofing is implemented by the flat roof with extensive vegetation and wooden roof trusses, fitting into the surrounding landscape.
The Multifunctional building Hlinky
Jarmerová, Eliška ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Sedláková, Markéta (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents a design of a multifunctional buiding in Brno – Pisárky. The building should be located in a gap site in the street Hlinky. The plot is situated at the foothill of Žlutý kopec near the premises of Brno Exhibition Centre. The southern part of the plot includes the area of terraced houses. The street is 215m above sea level. This project designs a completion of the street housing development with a fitting construction of a convenient size and type of façade. The project takes into account a non-existing and formerly pulled-down 19th-century object of value concerned by heritage conservation. The former building was significant for its indentation in the line of the adjacent buildings. In the design I try to point out at this element applied for the whole height of the building. The building facade division follows the elements applied for the other objects in the surroundings of the lot. Based on the former analysis, the design utilizes a high potential of the place which had not been met before, mainly its easy centre and transport accessibility, south-facing slope, high density of population in the area of the exhibition centre as well as as university hostels. This multifunctional building is designed to function in three ways – as an office, a living place and a shop with a buffet providing cooked meals. The design preserves and recultivates a garden which will function as an orchard with furniture. The first floor of the object is designed as a reinforced concrete frame which is filled with a wall of cut vertically perforated brick blocks with mineral wool insulation and completed with ventilated façade made of facing bricks. The building has six aboveground floors and one underground floor. The height of the designed building overtops the neighbouring buildings, which is hidden due to the division of the building facade into smaller areas whose function is to achieve better setting of the mass of the building into the frontage.
Approaches in Education of Adults from the View of Population Protection
Mrázková, Silvie ; Doležel, Ludvík (referee) ; Svoboda, Bohuslav (advisor)
Natural and anthropogenic disasters are increasingly becoming a part of our lives. The education area of an ordinary citizen still shows a big deficit. Therefore, there is necessary to think out and suggest the ways of improvement. The first section of my thesis deals with the civil protection from history up to present status. There is showed a solution of that problem in the neighbouring European countries. Further, there are analysed the possible procedures and ways of using these findings in the conditions of our country. These approaches are necessary to apply in an education of the adults in a civil protection. As a practical part of this thesis, it is proposed my own pocket guide to civil protection.
The Trade Relations between the Hanseatic League, Livonia, Veliky Novgorod and Pskov from the 12th to the early 16th Century

SMRŽ, Pavel, The Trade Relations between the Hanseatic League, Livonia, Veliky Novgorod and Pskov from the 12th to the early 16th Century Abstract The thesis examines the historical dynamics of interactions between the Livonian state and the Hanseatic League on one side and their eastern counterparts, the cities of Novgorod and Pskov, on the other. The study's temporal scope spans from the 12th century to the early 16th century, respectively through the year 1503. During the 12th century, merchants hailing from Scandinavia and northern German regions initiated initial engagements with medieval Russia and the final treaty, dating from the era of Grand Prince of Moscow Ivan III, was ratified in 1503. This ruler, on one hand, definitively put an end to the political autonomy of Veliky Novgorod, and on the other hand, strengthened the ties between Pskov and Moscow, thereby significantly altering the political conditions in which the two cities coexisted with their Livonian neighbours and trade partners for three centuries. The author set several objectives in addressing the chosen topic. One of them was to, through content analysis of extensive source material, particularly diplomatic treaty texts, explain how the practical dynamics of relations between Novgorod, Pskov, and their Livonian partners operated, how...
Anticonflict teams of police in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries focusing on large security measures
Koryčanský, Martin ; Ludvík, Jan (advisor) ; Krulík, Oldřich (referee)
Police anti-conflict teams in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries have become an integral and important part of security measures involving large numbers of persons. Based on the statistical data resulting from their deployment, I evaluate their contribution, character and use in the course of various types of security measures from their establishment until 2019 within the internal security of the Czech Republic and maintaining the public order. I describe the current educational system of members of anti-conflict police teams, possibilities and limits of their use and possible deficiencies in this work. Last but not least, I focus on the comparison of the Czech anti conflict police team with foreign countries, not only within the European Union, but also in the Balkan countries and Ukraine. I also focus on leading and functioning of anti-conflict police teams in some Police Regional Directorates, the way of their management and coordination both during security measures and from the methodological point of view. I mention the ambitious Project Norway 3, which will bring the material equipment of team members corresponding to the 21st century. I do not forget as well the probe into the psychology of the crowd and the work of a member of the anti-conflict police team including selected...
Gender analysis of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in selected episodes of the TV series The Surgery in the Rose Garden 2
Mašková, Martina ; Dvořáčková, Jana (advisor) ; Jiroutová Kynčlová, Tereza (referee)
The thesis "Gender analysis of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in selected episodes of the TV series The Surgery in the Rose Garden 2" introduces readers to problematic passages seen from a gender perspective in episodes 633 to 666 of the soap opera The Surgery in the Rose Garden 2. Research has found that doctors treat female nurses, female doctors and often female patients in a paternalistic manner (the exception are friends, such as a neighbour). The counterpart to the angry and conservative doctor Čestmír Mázl, who is stereotypically masculine (authoritative, aggressive), is the Ugandan doctor Aisha Nakabugo Kingi, who is stereotypically feminine (sensitive, empathetic). She is also progressive and is liked by patients and colleagues in the hospital. Her different ethnicity is a problem for Mázl and two other characters, but doctor Kingi disproves the racist stereotypes with her behavior and eventually befriends Mázl. Both surrogacy and home birth are presented as problematic ventures that are not recommended because they can turn out badly; in the soap opera, they only turn out well because of luck.
Regional identity: The Role of the Czech Republic and Poland in maintaining Sorbian identity
BARÇON, Maëla
This master thesis focuses on the Sorbs, a small Slavic minority living in Lusatia, Germany. The Sorbs are only 60 000, and their identity is currently threatened. This research aims at knowing to what extent the Czech Republic and Poland, as Slavic neighbours, can help the Sorbs maintain their identity. 6 semi-structured interviews were conducted with Sorbian, Czech, and Polish people. Several topics were addressed: the Sorbian identity, the personal experiences with the Czech Republic and Poland, the Sorbian-Czech and Sorbian-Polish relations as well as the Sorbs' relations with Germany. The results show that Sorbian identity is highly threatened and provide a state of play of the current Sorbian-Czech and Sorbian-Polish relations. Finally, the role that the Czech Republic and Poland could have in maintaining Sorbian identity in the coming years was discussed.
Two revolutions - thirty years later. Germans and Czechs look at their neighbours
VAVRDOVÁ, Markéta
This thesis aims to analyze how the media presented events during the 1989 revolutions in Germany and former Czechoslovakia, as well as the influence that these events maintain on present-day media. The first objective is to offer a historical contextualization for interpreting how the Czech media report on current events in Germany. This includes which topics surrounding the 1989 revolution are addressed by the Czech media, and to which degree they posit the role of the Cold War, concluded by the fall of the Berlin Wall, on shaping the current state of Germany. Furthermore, the second objective is to evaluate how the German media perceive these historical events and how that perception influences the interpretation of current situations in the Czech Republic. This research mainly considers political, social and economic aspects. To ensure a comprehensive monograph, an introduction into the historical context as well as a brief description of relevant media sources is included. The thesis is concluded with a short reflection essay.
Plant interactions in environments with fluctuating nutrient levels
Gawliková, Karolina ; Weiser, Martin (advisor) ; Hanzelková, Věra (referee)
Plants are affected by heterogeneity of nutrients in their environment but also by the plant competition for nutrients. In this study I review limits of contemporary studies and suggest possible alternatives. Currently, there is no experimental way to separate the effect of neighbour and the effect of fluctuating nutrients. For better understanding of plant interactions in environments with fluctuating nutrient levels, it is crucial to have thorough understanding of the heterogeneity itself, of the reactions of plants on said heterogeneity and also of the plant competition for nutrients. Then it is important to incorporate all this information into planning of the experimental design and simultaneously have them in mind when interpreting the acquired results.
