Abstract Price of electricity is an important part of many households consumption basket. General awareness of what affects the price of electricity, or what parts it create, is low. The aim of this work is to analyze the develompment of price of electricity and identify the main factors that affect it. They will be characterized all parts of the final price of electricity. The practical part will be analyzed on the basis of current prices since 2000. In conclusion will be evaluated whether the level of payments for energy is real increasing or decreasing.
Economics of happiness and religion: Are trappists in the trap of distress?
Tomanová, Julie ; Chalupníček, Pavel (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
This work is questioning whether religiosity could be one of the significant factors that have an impact on subjective well-being within the realm of economics of happiness. The data for the analysis of this correlation comes from the mostactic order of Trappist monks. The reason for choosing this contemplative and reclusive order is the effort to limit subsidiary factors that influence this relationship in the outside world. The outputs of this questionnaire after being compared with the results of similar studies and researches confirmed the positive relationship between the religiosity of Trappist monks and their subjective well-being, purpose in life and selfactualisation.
Vliv cen na rozsah krádeží drahých kovů v ČR
Brabenec, Tomáš ; Montag, Josef (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
This paper estimates the elasticity of supply-of-offences with respect to the gains from crime. Previous studies have uncovered little evidence because standardly used proxies for gains from crime such as average income suffer substantial problems. They are slightly variable and/or may represent the opportunity cost of crime at the same time. This paper uses higly fluctuating world prices on non-ferrous metals as proxy for the gains from crime. Using monthly data about metal thefts in the Czech Republic for years 2003-2009 estimates elasticity of supply-of-offences. The estimated elasticity with respect to copper price are around 0,6.
What is the price of reputation in Czech Republic?
Vejvodová, Veronika ; Houdek, Petr (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
In my thesis I observe the effect of reputation on the final price of the product through internet auction portal AUKRO.cz. With 140 finished auctions through the "matching method" I observed that higher rated seller gain an average price premium of 16% over a seller with lower reputation, in the condition when the sellers offered almost similar products. The research also exerts effort to describe people's behaviour and incentives according to particular condition including the reputation. By examining the positive dependence between reputation and price premium, this work highlights the need to build up and hold the high reputation score.
Is the male behaviour less altruistic than the female one?
Pekoč, Marek ; Chytil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
There are many papers using dictator game framework, but only few of them focus on exploring the differences between women's and men's behaviour in this game. The hypothesis we test is that men are more selfish than women. To do that we conducted two versions of the dictator game experiment. In the first treatment subjects were asked to divide money between themselves and well known humanitarian organization after presentation by a organization representative. In the second modification a different group of subjects divided between themselves evaluation points of a particular university course in two rounds and in between these rounds a histogram of the aggregate results of the first round was disclosed to all participants. Experimental results indicate that men behave less altruistic than women in some situations. Men redistributed by 22.7 % less money to the account of the humanitarian organization than women. On the other hand, there was no difference in behavior between two sexes in the first round of the second treatment. In the second round, however, the behaviour of the two genders was significantly differentiated as women were giving by 14, % more points for the benefit of "opponent", as a result of information provided in the first round about aggregate behaviour of the subjects.

Masák, Tomáš ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
Bernie Ecclestone (main person of F1 ) said that because of the ban on tobacco advertising F1 leaves from Europe. In today's globalized world is generally survival of World series in Europe unlikely. This thesis investigates how Bernie Ecclestone's statement aboves other economic reasons for leaving Europe. The role of tobacco was critical for F1 in terms of team's sponsorship and F1 itself. In both areas was the tobacco an important element for decades. Describing relations existing in the world of F1 which includes criteria that allow insight into the decisions about the allocation of F1 circuits and there will be a breakdown of the model into two parts. F1's promoter who as head of the body decides on the allocation of circuits direct and F1's teams that has an indirect influence on promoter's decision that derives from their status -- complements of F1's championship. Analysis of decision making model indicates that teams didn't have an effect on a decision of the promoter. The result is that the F1 promoter's decision was not influenced by tobacco advertising but rather revenues from television rights and race sanction fees.

Is subvention program supporting production of electricity in photovoltaic plants in the Czech Republic efficient?
Vaniš, Miloš ; Mičúch, Marek (advisor) ; Zajíček, Miroslav (referee)
As a consequence of recent generous subvention program, supporting electricity production from renewable resources, number and size of installed capacity of the photovoltaic plants in the Czech Republic skyrocketed. Strikingly, using photovoltaic plants to reduce CO2 is the most expansive but paradoxically the most supported way to reduce emissions compared to alternative electricity production in the Czech Republic. Guaranteed producers' purchase price increases electricity prices for households and firms. Production of electricity in photovoltaic plants also encumber power transfer network. Purchase prices of electricity from photovoltaic plants were introduced to increase the share of electricity produced in photovoltaic plants on the overall consumption and to reduce CO2 emissions. Reducing CO2 emissions to stop climate change was the main reason for introducing photovoltaic subvention. Analysing the relationship between amount of CO2, number of photovoltaic plants and GDP on the data of selected countries showed that the production of electricity in a photovoltaic plants contributes nothing to CO2 reduction in short-term.

Estimation of price elasticity of crude oil demand
Jonák, Ondřej ; Zajíček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Tříska, Dušan (referee)
Objective of this diploma thesis is estimation of price elasticity of crude oil demand. In order to calculation of such elasticity crude oil demand is estimated with econometrical methods. The choice of suitable model, which sufficiently and accurately models crude oil demand, is initial position of analysis. Consequently, crude oil demand is estimated from market data obtainable from public sources. This estimated model is verified from economic, statistic and econometric point of view. Consequently, price elasticity of crude oil demand is calculated from such model.
