Healthy Lifestyle Presentation Online on the Coffee Drinking Example

The aim of the diploma thesis Healthy Lifestyle Presentation Online on the Coffee Drinking Examples to demonstrate the presentation of the healthy lifestyle on the example of the coffee consumption and show the media perception. The coffee consumption is considered as a part of the popular culture which makes it an ideal universal research item. The thesis provided the basic theoretical frame for the research compound of two parts which are trying to answer two research questions - how does the online platform present the coffee consumption - whether coffee has a positive or negative impact on health. The second research question was to investigate, whether this media presentation has the impact on its final consumers. For the first research part, the quantitative content analysis was used. It was revealed that 62 % of analyzed articles was in favor of health benefits of the coffee, so the majority opinion presented on the internet is that coffee has got a beneficial impact on human health. The second part of the research was realized as the two-steps qualitative experiment compound of two parts of demi-structured survey. Analysis of shows with gastronomy content and their positions in czech television brodcast

Bachelor thesis follows expansion of gastornomy and culinary trend in modern society and its way of using by mass media. This work does not look for answers to why media use new trends in proces of creation of new media content, nevertheless this work tries to create a picture of how media use these trends and in which way. Following work focused on the presentation of gastronomy in czech media. Published research provides comparation of representation of gastronomy in several TV shows by using content analysis. This research discovers actual share of act of cooking and other examples of gastronomy. One of the goals of this work is to discover how media use gastronomy topic and also for which purpose we, as a spectators, consume their content. One of the main ideas behind this research is strong position of entertainment in media and its influence of rating numbers. The image of women in the First Republic era according to women'smagazines of that time

This diploma thesis deals with women's magazines in the era of the First Republic and examines how these magazines have seen their readers. The theoretical part brings information about the context of the birth of the Czechoslovak Republic, the economic and social situation and the position of women in the society of Czechoslovakia. It also focuses on the structure of the press and specific periodicals that were published during the First Republic. It also deals with the political and independent press, women's magazines and the status of female journalists. Practical part of the thesis brings quantitative research. In this part, there are summarized research questions, methodology, research samples and the results of the quantitative content analysis. It includes, in particular, a description of the contents of magazines and the occurrence of female themes in individual selected papers, which were intended for bourgeois, workers and religious women living in the countryside.
Media Reflection of Current Food Trends

(abstrakt) Cílem bakalářské práce Mediální reflexe současných trendů ve stravování je popsání mediálního obrazu čtyř stravovacích stylů (veganství, vitariánství, paleo diety a bezlepkové diety) na příkladu sedmi online médií (iDNES.cz, Novinky.cz, Blesk.cz, Aktuálně.cz, Deník.cz, Lidovky.cz a IHNED.cz), a to v období od května 2014 do května 2016. Výzkum proběhl použitím metod kvantitativní obsahové analýzy a kvalitativní obsahové analýzy. Kvantitativní analýza odpovídá na otázky týkající se tonality mediálních obsahů, komunikace témat v čase a podle médií a tematického zařazení textů i konkrétních trendů ve stravování. Tato analýza je doplněna kvalitativní metodou, která podrobněji popisuje mediální reflexi vybraných trendů ve stravování.

Práce začíná vysvětlením pojmu televizní formát a reality TV. Pokračuje kategorizací jednotlivých subžánrů reality TV a poté i subžánrů cooking show. Rozdíly při přejímání licencovaných formátů jsou v práci ukázány na pořadech Česko vaří s Pohlreichem: ŽIVĚ, Ano, šéfe!, MasterChef Česko a Prostřeno. Znalost jednotlivých formátů u diváků je zjišťována v dotazníkovém šetření.
I eat, therefore I am: the construction of foodbloggers identity

The main research question of this thesis deals with identity of foodbloggers, constructed through the content posted on their foodblogs. This work shows through research of eight foodblogs what forms of identity these foodblogs take. The foodbloggers are treated as members of the foodie community in this thesis, because their blogs reflect its values, such as emphasis on the element of sharing, food quality, authenticity and story of the food and its serving. Foodbloggers identity, reflected on their blogs, has been studied mainly in terms of self-presentation, narrative strategies and approaches to sharing their privacy with the blogs readers. These three aspects are constantly negotiated in every interaction between bloggers and readers of their blogs. This negotiation determines the final form of foodblogs. Narrative strategies of these analyzed foodblogs for example take the form of family atmosphere and cooking for the family, self-realization through cooking and blogging, making friendships, minimalist style without a personal narrative, a friend with sharing conjoint interests or invitation to the blogger's personal life. Furthermore, the identity was examined through the questions whether and how the blog authors think about themselves as (food)bloggers.
Contemporary media image of Škoda Favorit vehicle

The present thesis deals with the contemporary media image of Škoda Favorit vehicle. The study is based on the journals of that time. The theoretical part is devoted to the historical context, including economic situation and description of media functions, which changed together with political regime. Furthermore, it put us in touch with history of Škoda company, closer also with developing and selling of Škoda Favorit and with the personality of Ing. Petr Hrdlička, CSc., who was in charge of the vehicle development. The second part deals with analysis of the media articles connected to the topic. Work closer elaborates events, which are thematically important, it means the performance of the vehicle in Brno expo, the start of selling the car, the completion of car bodywork development building in Mladá Boleslav, the international performance on Amsterdam motor show, the departure of Ing. Petr Hrdlička, CSc., the joining of the car company with Volkswagen concern, the facelift of the car and the end of the production of Škoda Favorit basic type.
Image of health in advertising. Content analysis of advertisement of medicinal products in selected womenˇs magazines

The master thesis deals with the development and display of advertisement for medicine and health- related products and services in Czech women's magazines. We compare here two periods - The First Czechoslovak Republic and present. It focuses primarily on these following questions: Does the display of health-related products have changed? Do we still advertise products of the similar character? Has the ideal of heath changed and things which were believed healthy in the past, are not considered healthy anymore? Is the difference related to historical events or rather related to the current state of society and its preferences? The main titles for analysis were Eva: A journal of modern women from the 1930s, which was published by Melantrich and current lifestyle magazine Elle, which is published by Hubert Burda Media. The theoretical part summarizes current basic knowledge about press, advertising, healthcare. In the practical part are more closely introduced the research methods - content and image analysis and also the process of analysis and the comparison by itself. An integral part of the thesis is the attached advertisements, on which the analysis was based, and which serve for better illustration of the above-mentioned phenomena. The Pilsner Urquell's media image during Socialism in Czechoslovakia and the contemporary

The bachelor thesis looks into mediaimage of the Pilsner Urquell brand in the Czech land during various periods of time; namely in the current democratic Czech Republic in the contrast of the socialist era in years 1965-1989. In the first part the thesis explains the socialist era and the functioning of media in the past including the historic overview of the brand Pilsner Urquell. The second part charts the media interest of the brand Pilsner Urquell, which it examines through the brand-related content analysis in selected national and regional newspapers. In the conclusion the mediaimages which have been detected through the analysis are being compared.
