Eisenbruková, Anna ; Weissová, Aneta (advisor) ; Matoušek, Petr (referee)
The bachelor thesis "The stigmatization of mothers of children with Asperger syndrome" deals with the issue of courtesy stigma, it focuses on its manifestations, consequences and it maps where stigmatization usually occurs. The main goal of this thesis is to find out whether mothers of children with Asperger syndrome feel stigmatized and if so where does this phenomenon occur. The theoretical part of this treatise aims to describe the main concepts of stigmatization, parenthood and motherhood and Asperger's syndrome. The thesis is built on qualitative research which is based on ten in-depth semi-structured interviews, it's specifics are further described in its methodological part. The research results are analyzed and interpreted in the last chapter. Stigmatization appeared to some extent among all respondents, but its manifestations and consequences differed depending on other life experiences, marital status but mainly the severity of the child's diagnosis. Three main areas in which stigmatization occurs were identified, around close friends and family, in public and during contact with institutions and professionals.

Stigma toward people with mental illness
Weissová, Aneta ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Remr, Jiří (referee)
Stigmatization of people with mental illness has negative impact on quality of their life. There are few Czech studies focusing on stigma, but they rather focus only on one element of the problem. Aim of this thesis is to identify level of stigma in the Czech Republic and its socio- demographic predictors. This knowledge will help when choosing target groups for stigma reducing campaign. Thesis focuses on three elements of stigma - problems in knowledge, attitudes and behaviour. Four datasets are used - one from survey conducted within this theses, one from CVVM and two from INRES, which were conducted for NUDZ. Standardised research tools were used to measure knowledge (MAKS scale), attitudes (CAMI scale), behaviour (RIBS scale) and social distance. Predictors were identified using multivariate linear regression analysis. When comparing level of stigma among three elements, behaviour has the highest level and knowledge has the lowest level. Higher level of stigma in knowledge and attitudes is associated with being a male, lower education level and smaller size of residence. Higher level of stigma in behaviour is related to higher age, region and previous contact with person with mental illness. However these relations are rather weak and there are other nonsocio-demographic factors influencing...

Weissová, Aneta ; Kuchař, Pavel (advisor) ; Gorčíková, Magdaléna (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Aspiration of Children from Children's Homes" discusses family plans and dreams of children from children's homes, who don't live in family enviroment, which is one of the main socialization agencies and also origin of ideas of future life. Main purpuse of this thesis is to ilustrate differences between children from childrens homes and children from families. Survey of children in children's home above 15 years old was made for this thesis (N=127). Survey focuses on four main areas of family life: relationships, marriage, parenthood and distribution of roles in family. Other three datasets from surveys of future plans of childrens from families were analyzed. Frequency and correlations analysis were used and results of these two groups were compared together. It was revealed that plans of children from children's homes and children from families varies. Results show that children from children's homes are less inclined to future family life. There was also no evidence of linkage between age at which children were institutionalized and their future family plans.
