Microscopic analysis of malt samples taken from the objects: tower of the monastery in Sázava, Apolinář in Prague
Bauerová, Pavla ; Frankeová, Dita ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Using an electron microscope and EDS analysis, samples from two locations were examined - a sample of mortar from the tower of the monastery in Sázava and two samples of plaster from the Apolinař building in Prague (Apolinář - face, Apolinář - soil). The aim of the investigation was to determine the type of binder for plasters and coatings on plaster. A strongly hydraulic binder was identified in all three analyzed samples.
Laboratory microscopic survey of the stratigraphy of colored coatings on building materials of the Morzinski Palace building in Nerudova st. Prague 1
Slížková, Zuzana ; Náhunková, Pavla ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Stratigraphic analysis of the color coatings on the facade of the Morzín Palace in Prague in order to determine the color of the facade for the future restoration of the building.
Microscopic analysis of the mortars sampled from the Hradenín fortress
Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Vondráčková, Michaela ; Slížková, Zuzana
Two mortar samples and one sample of plaster of the exterior facade from the Gothic fortress Hradenín were examined using an electron microscope. The aim of study was to determine the type of mortar binder and to find out the technological procedure of surface coating application.
Chemical and microstructural analysis of sandstone samples from the cemetery portal at the Gothard in Hořice
Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla ; Mácová, Petra ; Ševčík, Radek ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Determination of the chemical and mineralogical composition of the surface layer of sandstone and the speed of water transport through the surface of the stone (comparison of the properties of the light ocher surface and the black surface of sandstone.
Chemical and microstructural analysis of brick samples from the object of Zákupy castle horse stables
Frankeová, Dita ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla ; Ševčík, Radek ; Mácová, Petra ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Vondráčková, Michaela
As part of the construction-technical survey, historical brick samples were characterized using thermal analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS), ion chromatography (IC), infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and physical tests. The results of the tests testify to the good production quality of the masonry elements used. Based on the analyzes carried out, it can be assumed that the observed damage to the bricks is caused by high wetting of the masonry in combination with frost cycles, as well as crystallization cycles of water-soluble salts present in the surface layer of some bricks.
Analysis of a 19th century mortar
Bauerová, Pavla ; Frankeová, Dita ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Vondráčková, Michaela
Chemical and mineralogical composition of the binder and the aggregates of the mortar, using SEM-EDS and thermal analysis
Chemical and microstructural analysis of plaster samples from the Mayrau mine, Kladno – Vinařice
Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Vondráčková, Michaela ; Bauerová, Pavla ; Náhunková, Pavla
An analysis of historical plasters was carried out using thermal analysis and SEM-EDS analysis. The binders and aggregates of mortars and their surface treatments were characterized. The survey results were used for the design of the repair mortars.
Tumor suppressor NDRG1 and its regulation by iron chelators
Vondráčková, Michaela ; Truksa, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Brábek, Jan (referee)
Iron is an essential trace element required for many processes within a cell, including DNA synthesis and cell cycle progression. Moreover, it is critical for cellular respiration in mitochondria. Due to their proliferative nature, cancer cells are dependent on iron, and depleting this element via iron chelators results in the inhibition of ribonucleotide reductase, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of cancer cells. Recently, an alternative mechanism for the effect of iron chelators have been proposed, including induction of N-myc downstream regulated gene 1 (NDRG1) expression and its inhibitory effect on c-MET, EGFR, and NF-κB pathways, which can act as oncogenes in a certain context. NDRG1 is a tumour suppressor gene, which is downregulated in many cancers and its downregulation correlates with cancer progression, poor differentiation, and higher metastatic potential. It has been shown that NDRG1 expression can be regulated by intracellular iron - a decrease in intracellular iron leads to upregulation of NDRG1 at mRNA and protein level via the HIF-1-dependent mechanism by inhibiting prolyl hydroxylases. Recently, we have conceived the concept of mitochondrially targeted chelators as an effective anti-cancer agent and in this work, we focused on the evaluation of mitochondrially targeted...
Neoangiogenesis as a target for tumor therapy
Vondráčková, Michaela ; Sivák, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dibus, Michal (referee)
Neoangiogenesis associated with tumours is formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing quiescent vessels in surrounding tumour tissue and it results from pathological employment of normal angiogenesis. Neoangiogenesis became a promising target for cancer treatment in spite of its complexity and many pro-angiogenic and anti-angiogenic factors involved in this process. Anti-angiogenic strategies are based on neutralization of angiogenic ligands, their receptors or inhibition of signalling pathways employed by such receptors. Other potential strategies include upregulation or delivery of endogenous inhibitors, inhibition of endothelial cell proliferation, stabilization of basement membrane and direct disruption of tumour vasculature. Many anti-angiogenic agents have been identified in past several decades but only a few of them were approved for clinical use. Anti-VEGF-A monoclonal antibody bevacizumab (Avastin® ), soluble decoy VEGF receptor aflibercept (Zaltrap® ), monoclonal antibody directed against VEGFR-2 ramucirumab (Cyramza® ) and tyrosin kinase VEGFR inhibitors sunitinib (Sutent® ) and sorafenib (Nexavar® ) belong among approved agents. Key words: angiogenesis, neoangiogenesis, anti-angiogenic therapy, HIF-1, VEGF, bevacizumab
Corporation Income Tax in CR and Germany
Vondráčková, Michaela ; Marková, Hana (advisor)
The Bachelor Thesis deals with the concept of international taxation of Permanent Establishment, precisely with the focus on Corporation Tax. Aim of this work is to define and compare how Czech, German and international laws look at Permanent Establishment and its taxation. At the beginning, there is focus on definition of Corporation Tax, afterwards on Permanent Establishment itself. At the end, there is mentioned a judicial case related to this topic.
