Influence of Friction to the Shear Stress State in the Crack-Front Vicinity
Vlach, Jiří ; Hutař, Pavel (referee) ; Horníková, Jana (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is to explore the influence of frictional forces to the stress and strain on the straight crack tip loaded in shear modes. The first section summarizes the most important things from the field of fracture mechanics. Especially theoretical knowledge about fracture parameters (stress intensity factor, J – integral) and their determination in computational environment ANSYS Workbench. The second part deals with computational modeling. At the beginning, is created the model of material, the model of geometry, the model of loads, etc. Then it is possible to solve the direct problem outlined in the introduction. A result of this thesis is the assessment of how the friction influences the fracture parameters in shear modes II and III.
Financing Options in the Gaming Industry in Czech Republik
Ulrychová, Barbora ; KOPECKÝ, Lubor (advisor) ; VLACH, Jiří (referee)
This thesis maps the financing possibilities of computer games in Czech Republic. These options are set out in the eight forms of financing. In the thesis there can be found the difference between the game and film financing. The thesis is based on the interviews with game developers, teachers and theorists.
Food availability in developing countries - new challenge for local producers or new export space for the EU exporters?
Vlach, Jiří ; Kabát, Ladislav (advisor) ; Klára, Klára (referee)
Food security is influenced by many factors, which are divided into four categories according to FAO. Food Availability is one of these categories. It is closely connected with domestic food production as well as with international trade with food and with free movement of commodities on the international market. Countries in south Africa joined together and established South African Development Community (SADC) in 1992, which significantly changed their trade policies and their economics opened to international trade. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate, how these new conditions in international politics and trade affected the situation of food security and food availability in SADC countries. The research was based on common statistical analysis of secondary data developed by transnational organizations engaged in food security and international trade (FAOSTAT, WTO, World Bank). Results showed that the index of imported food to domestic food production has been growing in the last 10 years and it reached 51% in 2011. The food exports value and domestic production value are increasing as well and the average food import tariffs are decreasing. Also I proved some dependency of food imports to average dietary energy adequacy as well as dependency of domestic food production to average dietary energy adequacy. However with the use of comparative advantage method (RSCA) it was shown that SADC countries lost their comparative advantage in trade with food. The correlation of index of selected food security indicators to regional political stability was not proved.
House alarm - hardware
Vlach, Jiří ; Štohl, Radek (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the design and realization of a modular security central unit's hardware positioned in familial houses. As an operating component of the central unit is used Module Rabbit 3365 with an integrated Ethernet interface. Based on user's requirements and general requirements for electronic security system, circuit diagrams of the central unit's motherboard and power supply with a function of backup power supply are designed. The work also includes layout of a keyboard and LCD display. Printed circuit boards are designed, produced and assembled. The device is set to work. The last part concerns programming of the module Rabbit 3365 in Dynamic C. Gradually, set of operating functions for individual components of the security central unit are implemented.
Evaluation of mechanical characteristics of metalic materials under cyclic loading
Vlach, Jiří ; Slámečka, Karel (referee) ; Horníková, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on study mechanical characteristics of metalic materials under cyclic loading. In the first section there are summarized current facts about three fatigue stages: fatigue hardening/softening, microcrack nucleation and crack propagation. This part also contains information about fatigue life, fatigue strength and fatigue limit. The main aim of practical part was to evaluate the Wöhler´s curve, also called S-N curve.
Creativity Iin Producing Practise
Mahler, Jakub ; KALLISTA, Jaromír (advisor) ; VLACH, Jiří (referee)
This Baccalaureate thesis aims to examine the creative component of Czech film producers' work: to what extent finished projects match the original ideas and which methods are used to maintain a direction in the development and realization stages of the film production. This work attempts to describe the types, methods, possibilities and tendencies of the producers' creativity, and also examine the creative part of their work in general. Based on both historical and current analyses, case studies (both published and original ones) of individual films, and interviews of producers and directors, the author explores the producers' approach (choice of the film material, producers' visions, social and artistic ambitions) and their methods at individual production stages (how much freedom they give to the creative professionals and to what extent they intervene with the film's production). The author of this thesis then compares and contrasts the various film production styles and provides a comprehensive synthesis.
Using Game Mechanics Outside Games
Berlinger, Michal ; KOPECKÝ, Lubor (advisor) ; VLACH, Jiří (referee)
The work is divided into two parts. The first is devoted to theoretical introduction to the use of game mechanics or gamification. The second part describes the design, implementation and evaluation of my practical application of game elements in ARGO association. The results indicate some positive changes in people behavior, but not all parameters were shown utilizable due to the size of the data sample.
The Comparison of Czech and British Producer´s Association
Vorlová, Hana ; KOPECKÝ, Čestmír (advisor) ; VLACH, Jiří (referee)
Abstract: Bachelor´s thesis is named The Comparison of British and Czech producer´s association is aimed on comparison of aktivity and organization of Czech Association of Audiovisual Producers and British Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television. The aim is the comparison of two different associations by various aspect and assess the ways for improvement and inspirations for both of them.

Karlovy Vary IFF among worldwide film events
Vondráčková, Alexandra ; OUKROPEC, Petr (advisor) ; VLACH, Jiří (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I thoroughly explore film forums, markets and festival. I summarize opportunities which are offered to producers and film professionals at such events. I implant Karlovy Vary IFF inside this extensive network of worldwide film industry events and I define its position on the imaginary festival map.
