Vyhodnocení vybraných hřebců českého teplokrevníka podle kvality dcer
Vlášková, Tereza
The diploma thesis deals with an evaluation of chosen Czech warm-blooded stallions based on the quality of their daughters. A collection of 474 mares which are registered in a Czech warmblood studbook and passed a basic performance test of three years old mares was chosen. Following information was collected: breed, birth year, inclusion year, father, jump index of father, plus points for class, type, exterior, performance and jump index. Collected data was processed in programs Microsoft Excel 2016 and UNISTAT 6.5, with the use of a general linear GLM model with a fixed effect. The GLM model was used to analyse the influence of individual factors on the dependent variables (class, type, exterior and performance of the mares). Subsequently, in case of statistically significant influence of the observed effect, the differences between monitored individuals were determined by multiple comparison according to the Tukey-B method and Scheffe method. For the class and exterior, the best rated mares were after the stallion 2997 Aristo Z (x̄ = 7,78 points). The best mark for category were also given the mares after father 2997 Aristo Z (x̄ = 7,90 points). The most performing and stable offspring has the stallion 1028 Manillon Rouge (x̄ = 7,94 points). Best jump indexes have again the daughters of the stallion 2997 Aristo Z (x̄ = 123,2 points). Through the general linear module, it was found out that the father has statistically highly conclusive influence on the class, exterior and performance of daughters (mares), since P ≤ 0,01. Other factors do not have statistically conclusive influence on dependent variables.
An annotated translation of Vikram Seth's novel An Equal Music with an introduction to the author, the novel's style and translation complexities
Vlášková, Tereza ; Tobrmanová, Šárka (advisor) ; Šťastná, Zuzana (referee)
The thesis is divided into two parts. The first and crucial part offers a translation of the first two sections of the novel An Equal Music (1999) by Vikram Seth, a postcolonial author of Indian origin. His novel, or "musical romance", is commonly considered to be one of the best novels about music. The translation is followed by a study of the author's life and works, of his style and the reception of his novel and, finally, by an analysis of essential translation problems. The main focus is on speakability issues in various voices throughout the novel; the ambivalence of and difficulty in translating the title; on translation strategies regarding the poetic layers of the text and on the method of translating names and other facts. Given the specific subgenre of the book, the key subchapter analyses the translated musical excerpts from the novel. Keywords Vikram Seth, An Equal Music, contemporary fiction in English, translation, Czech language, style, translation analysis.
Translation with Commentary. Conversations on Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, pp. 3 - 22.
Vlášková, Tereza ; Šťastná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Tobrmanová, Šárka (referee)
The thesis contains a commented translation of the first three chapters of the book Conversations on Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, written by British music therapists Rachel Verney and Gary Ansdell and published in 2010. The aim of the translation was to preserve the primary informative and conative functions of the source text, and to find a balance between readers' expectations associated with conventions of Czech non-fiction literature and character of the original text written as an informal interview, which is quite unusual in the Czech Republic. The commentary includes a translation analysis of the source text, based on the Christiane Nord's model. It also contains a translation problems description and explains their solutions. An individual chapter deals with translation shifts that occurred during the translation process. The commentary is summed up by description of the chosen translation method.

VLÁŠKOVÁ, Tereza
Nowadays in society, virtual reality, world of television, advertisement and the Internet enter intensively into the social reality of the schoolchildren. However, the real effect of the mass media on children is still not sufficiently clear to the pedagogical public. This thesis should help to understand how the children are affected by the influence of commercialization and by the advertising and marketing pressures that they are focused on them. This thesis will be arranged into two parts. The first one is the theoretical part. In this part we'll focus on the description of the influence of advertisement on pupils of the second degree of the primary school from the view of marketing, psychology of sale and related disciplines which deal professionally with this phenomenon. Moreover, the ethical dimension of the influence of advertisement on children especially the pupils of the primary schools between 11 and 15 will be studied too. We'll monitor the effect of the advertising in the form of television, radio, newspaper or leaflet advertisement as well as currently modern internet advertising. The second part, the practical one, is connected to the research made on primary schools. We'll try to find out, using the appropriate methods, the pupils' knowledge of advertisement. We'll monitor the nature of the advertisement that pupil's like and why they like it. Futhermore, we'll try to find out what is the extent of advertisement which becomes the part of the reality of children mainly by talking about it with their friends as well as using the advertising slogans in their conversation. How the advertisement influences the factual consumer behaviour of children is difficult to prove but within this research we'll try to find out if the children at this age buy the goods according to the advertisement or if they demand them from their parents.
