Author: Bc. Veronika Valášková Title of the work: The effect of physiotherapeutic procedures on cervical spine surgery. Aim: The aim of my thesis is to give an overview of the physiotherapy treatment after surgery of herniated cervical intervertebral disc. Methods: This thesis is written as a review of literature sources. The thesis consists of three parts, the first of which highlights the issue of kinesiology, biomechanics, stability of the cervical spine, pathophysiology of a prolapsed spinal disc and imaging issues involved in the discovery of a the actual prolapse. The second part deals with the various surgical techniques and associated complications. The final theoretical part looks into physiotherapy treatment after the operation. I examine the chronology of physiotherapy after the operation, and ascertain if there is a necessity to apply a neck brace after the surgery. It is important to answer the question of when it is possible to return to work and when the patient can return to their original physical activities. Results: The results of this thesis shows that postoperative care in individual departments vary and is inadequately described within available resources. Physiotherapy after cervical spine surgery - literature review

Author: Bc. Veronika Valášková Title of thesis: Physiotherapy after cervical spine surgery - literature research. Aims: The aim of my diploma thesis is to give an overview of physiotherapeutic care after cervical intervertebral disc herniation surgery. Methods: The diploma thesis is processed as a research of literacy sources. Fifteen studies were selected that met the required study selection criteria. All studies focused on postoperative physiotherapy in patients after cervical spine surgery by the anterior approach. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical, deals with anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics of the cervical spine, surgical techniques and subsequent complications that may occur after surgery. The second part is the methodology itself, which processes the available information about postoperative physiotherapy. Results: The results of the diploma thesis show that in the early phase after the operation, active exercise in the shoulder joints, respiratory physiotherapy, strengthening the deep flexors of the cervical spine are most recommended. Selected elements of p-block in education of chemistry at secondary schools

The main subject of this thesis is a practical elaboration of the subject "Boron, Carbon and Nitrogen Group of the p-block elements" in form of presentations created using the Microsoft PowerPoint program. The presentations are designed to be used in practice, during the education of chemistry at secondary schools. The thesis also contains additional comments for teachers and an analysis of curricular documents and selected textbooks. It is elaborated in accordance with the RVP G programme.

EFFECTIVITY OF SCREENING PROGRAMS OF NEOPLASMS IN CZECH REPUBLIC

This diploma thesis deals with the national screening programs for cancer diagnosis. The goal of this thesis is to find a proper way how to evaluate the effectivity of screening programs as well as their influence on the intensity of mortality from certain types of cancer. For the purpose of finding out necessary information were used data related to the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, a diagnosis of cervical cancer and breast cancer in the population of the Czech Republic between 1977 - 2011. This thesis is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the topic and contains the description of the main goals. The second chapter defines terms that are crucial for this thesis. The third chapter is devoted to data sources and institutions that collect different types of data and health statistics. The next chapter deals with the epidemiology of all described types of cancer and also provide information on risk factors and symptoms of the disease. The fifth chapter looks back at trends in mortality and incidence of the most common malignant tumors in the Czech Republic. The sixth chapter describes planning and implementation of screening processes. The seventh history of screening programs in the Czech Republic. The eighth chapter deals with the rules and regulations of the EU Council and the World Health Organization. The ninth chapter represents the final assessment of Czech screening programs, compared both to the WHO guidelines and the results in the world. The last chapter is including description of mortality and their reaction on screening programs. Text describes even comparison with two other European countries (Germany, France).

Recent changes in the mortality rate of cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms in the Czech Republic

The aim of my dissertation is to describe and compare recent changes in the mortality rate of two of the most common causes of death in the Czech Republic. I divided my work into two main parts. The first part of my dissertation is theoretical and consists of an inventory of data sources that I used, list of basic concepts related to mortality, coding of causes of death, history of international classification of diseases, institutions dealing with these issues, and concluding the theoretical essay, the term cardiovascular revolution is introduced. In the second part, at first, I analyse the development of the overall mortality, which is followed by the comparison of the development of mortality of neoplasms' selected causes and diseases of the circulatory system, using the standardized measures.
