Architecture of Educational Premises

The focal issue of this thesis is the area of educational space - the spatial disposition of schools. The paper deals with the topic in a broadest way possible and uses the term "classroom architecture" as a general description of all related issues and phenomenons. The paper is divided into two parts: a theoretical one and a practical one. The first chapter of the theoretical part describes the basic terminology, specifies the boundaries of related fields of study and introduces the history of education technology as a discipline of research. The second chapter is concerned with ergonomics in terms of education, educational instruments, organization of educational space and, based on these topics, analyses the relation between alternative education and the concepts of organizing the educational space. The third chapter observes the relation between the classroom climate and the classroom enviroment as related to progressive psychology of pupil's personality. Finally, the last chapter examines the essence and purpose of the action plan "School for 21st century" for equipping educational space with didactic technology. Communication with seniors

This work will try to describe succinctly the basic questions of communication with elderly people especially within an institution. It identifies the most frequent illnesses and psychosocial problems which have impact on elderly people's communication. It mentions changes of cognitive functions or dementia which widely influence the process of communication. It suggests some principles and methods to improve this communication, and will focus principally on validation. The practical part is the concrete description of the improvement of communication in a social medical establishment in Switzerland, which tries to provide seniors with a pleasant, comfortable, homely and full-value home. It describes the functioning and the philosophy of a humanistic approach, which is followed by this establishment as services and care are offered to cover every element of basic human needs, including the biological, psycho-social and spiritual. It also presents the different specific structures of the establishment, including the animation, an intergenerational program and validation, which are at the basis of a worthwile communication.

Nursery school pupil's general readiness for the entry to primary school

The subject matter of diploma thesis "Nursery school pupil's general readiness for the entry to primary school" is preparedness of nursery schools pupils for entering primary school. Diploma thesis is separate into two sections. First'll be based on theory and secondly relate on my personal experiences and practices and daily perception of my colleagues. Theoretical section among others comes out from publications of educational and pedagogic experts and my working practices. Practical section is based on answers of questionnaires which'll be distributed to teachers in basic and nursery schools. I'll parallel questionnaires and results of evaluation of pupils in pre-primary classes. In conclusion I would like to summarize knowledge and refer on limitations and positives of actual educational system.

Thesis Subject conception of Ethical Education/ Religious Education in Norway and in Czech Republic deals with diverse approaches towards Religious and Ethical Education in Norway and in Czech Republic. Christianity and ethics, which both steam from the Christian thinking, are undoubtedly an important source of European tradition and have been occupaing the distinctive role in education. This thesis is trying to conceive the changing of the position of Religious as well as Ethical Education in schooling upbringing and in society. The goal of this thesis is to cover the various subjects' conception, approaches and also trying to entitle the targets in connection with reality. At the close there will be given the description and clarification of different approaches and correspondences towards Ethical and Religious Education in the cooperation with the content analyses of subjects' conceptions, cultural contexts and various approaches.

"Power and powerlessness" - Emanuel Rádl on the intellectual's responsibility for a life in polis

The submitted diploma work "Power and Powerlessness" - Emanuel Rádl on the intellectual's responsibility for a life in polis addresses the fundamental questions articulated by the philosophy of one of the most interesting and controversial proponents of Czech philosophical thinking during the first half of the 20th century. The author presents Emanuel Rádl's life and work on the background of the era of laborious formation of a modern society in the independent Czechoslovak Republic, in opposition to the thoughts and approach of the principal polit ical personality and source of inspiration for Czech philosophers of the ment ioned era - T. G. Masaryk. The classical topics of social philosophy, ethics and the philosophy of religion, which have traditionally occupied a dominant place in Czech thinking, resonate in E. Rádl's interpretation with the dramatic events of modern European history, go beyond the scope of local philosophising to culminate in the tragic discourse on the intellectual's responsibility towards the polis when the values of European humanistic heritage are threatened, and in reflection on philosophy's power and powerlessness when faced with the menace of fascism.

The Phenomenon of Femininity at the Beginning of the 21st Century

This thesis is concerned with fundamental questions about feminity and the role of culture in its construct. It draws on selected chapters about female discourse and articulates what it means to be female, femininity, and the female role as a condition of cultural inheritance and intellectual heritage of European civilizations. This thesis pays particular attention to maternity, maternity role fulfillment, reflection sensation interpretation, female body image, and substantiality in relation to the human body.
