Performance Evaluation of a Selected Business Corporation Using the Start Model

The master’s thesis is focused on evaluation of the performance of the company Deceuninck, spol. s r. o. by using the START Model, which is based on the logic of the EFQM Excellence Model. The first part of the thesis contains theoretical bases related to performance and methods of its measurement. The second part is focused on the description of the selected company and evaluation of the results of the questionnaire survey. The final part of this work contains measures which were suggested to improve the current situation.

The EU and Turkey in the context of the migration crisis 2015-2016

The EU-Turkey relations have been accompanied by the complicated accession process with the aim of integrating Turkey into the EU for several decades. The development of this process has been influenced by internal factors at both sides, as well as by external circumstances. Since 2011, due to the Middle East crisis, Turkey has begun to struggle with a growing number of arriving migrants with a major influx between 2013 and 2015. The wave of incoming migrants hit also the EU in the summer of 2015. This paper examines the impact of one of the strongest migration waves since World War II on the EU-Turkey relations. First is analyzed the migration crisis including its consequences for the EU and Turkey. Second is analyzed, how they responded to the crisis individually so that the research could focus on the cooperation of both sides from autumn 2015 to spring 2016. The paper discovers that the impacts of the migration crisis on the EU and Turkey were so significant that neither side was able to handle the difficult situation on its own. Thus, because of the characteristics of the migration wave, a unique window of opportunity opened for revival of the mutual relations. Immunochemical determination of active and inactive form of cathepsin B in patients with bladder cancer

This thesis is focused on immunochemical determination of concentration of active and inactive form of cathepsin B in patients with bladder cancer in order to compare diagnostic efficiency of methods for their possible use for routine diagnosis. Cathepsin B and procathepsin B were measured in serum and urine in 82 patients with bladder cancer (47 men and 35 women), with the average age of 66.5 year. The control group contain of 72 healthy subjects (31 men and 41 women), with the average age of 58.5 year. The concentration of cathepsin B and procathepsin B in the urine were corrected to creatinine, which was determined by the enzymatic creatinase method. The concentrations of cathepsin B in urine were singnificantly elevated in patients than in control group (median = 3.5 µg/l vs. 0.9 µg/l, P = 0.01), similarly the results of the cathepsin B/creatinine ratio were elevated (median = 0.4 µg/mmol vs. 0.1 µg/mmol, P = 0.01). There were no significant difference in concentration in serum between patients and control group (median = 4.8 µg/l vs. 4.2 µg/l, P = 0.8). - Special court proceedings (general issues) The diploma thesis is focused on the topic special court proceedings. Special court proceedings are a subject, representing one kind of the civil proceedings that is characterized by disposing peculiarities from the general regulations of the civil dispute proceedings. Special court proceedings are governed mainly by the Act No. 292/2013 Coll., on special court proceedings. This act contains the exceptions from the general proceedings regulations and enumeration of the specific special proceedings and its regulation. Also Act No. 99/1963 Coll., civil procedure code is subsidiary used. This thesis aims to give a comprehensive explanation of the subject of special court proceedings by consistent definition of the subject itself based on use of the several ways of distinguishing it from the civil dispute proceedings. The next target of the thesis is to evaluate the historical development of the mentioned subject and to compare contemporary legislation with the laws applicable during the era of the first republic. An increase in a mean age of the candidates for coronary artery bypass surgery is observed due to universal trend of the whole mankind to grow old. Standard methods using cardiopulmonary bypass and cardiac arrest have achieved undisputable reputation in cardiac surgery and in low-risk procedures they present excellent results. In comparison with younger groups of patients, the elderly showed higher risk of mortality, stroke and morbidity dependent on using cardiopulmonary bypass, general anesthesia and prolonged in-hospital stay. New trends in cardiac surgery seem to be the alternative to accomplish better outcome of this high-risk group of cardiac patients. Those are generally the procedures in surgery, anesthesia and postoperative care called "minimally invasive". An effort to minimize the surgical trauma, prolonged ventilation time and length of stay in postoperative ward as well as to offer prompt verticalisation, rehabilitation and shorter in-hospital stay are the key characters of the abovementioned procedure. The "Aortic No-touch Technique" is an up-to-date method with potential to fulfill the criteria of "minimal invasiveness". Semi-adaptive Dictionary compression methods

Goal of this work was to design and test methods for creating and parsing input data from file or stream in a way they are optimalized for following compression algorithms. We used two runs through data, first run collected analytical data and second run was for parsing. First part of this document is focused on methods TD2 and TD3 [4] for trie compression and their extension for unicode alphabets. In second part there are presented methods for creating dictionary without considering partitiong on words or syllabels. All methods are considered over unicode alphabet and implemetned as part of modular program XBW.
