In the past decade, online dating has been displacing other ways of meeting partners. In the US, online dating has surpassed meeting through friends and family around the 2013 for heterosexual couples. Despite the widespread popularity of online dating, relatively little is known about its prevalence, user perceptions, and behavioral dynamics in online dating platforms within the context of Czechia. This dissertation aims to fill this gap in empirical insights into Czech online dating market by utilizing two main data sources: 1) a survey of adult Czech internet users, 2) digital trace data from a Czech mobile dating app. The study starts with the historical overview of matchmaking, transitioning from newspaper ads in the 19th and early 20th centuries to the flourishing of online platforms in the modern era, reflecting societal norms and demands of different eras. The survey of Czech internet users reveals that online dating is a prevalent mode of finding romantic partners among surveyed Czechs, resonating with trends observed in the US and other Western countries. The fast emergence and widespread popularity of online dating begs the question of how it is related to one of the most persistent patterns in the research on partnerships and families - homogamy. Transformation of expected roles in post-modern society relationships

(in English): This bachelor thesis pursues problematics of intimate relationships in context of postmodern period, which brought new forms of coexistence and partnership roles in relationship. Emphasis lay on increase of individualization in society and its effect. Key basics from theory are primarily from thougts of Zygmunt Bauman, Antony Giddens, which are going to be pursued in the first part of thesis. Theories relate to three main fields of researching dynamics roles partnership relationship and those are economical, intimate and working aspects. Second part pursues assumption authentication from theory based on ISSP data during yers 1994-2012. Additional source of data for men and women roles are data files CVVM. Intergenerational Communication in the Internet Age

This bachelor thesis concerns itself with the problematics of communication between generations in the internet age. Since there is almost no systematic literature on this topic, the main method used to process this thesis is a systematic review. The focus of the dissertation is to answer the question in what way does the spread and use of the internet change intergeneration relations. More attention is given, due to the wider theoretical and empirical materials, to the parents-children relationship. The bachelor thesis maps various aspects of communication (privacy, noms, time and space) and puts forward possible barriers and bridges between generations.
