The use of aluminium parts in construction of ingeneering constructions

Study describes is dealing with the application of the aluminum extrusions for industrial purposes. The introduction is dealing with the industrial applications in general terms. It includes the chemical and physical properties of aluminum. It is followed by description of various aluminum alloys, their properties such as suitability for machining, welding, plasticity and resistance to corrosion. Next chapter is listing aluminum applications, namely as a building components in civil engineering such as various extrusions and a modular components. At the closing of this paper there is an example of an actual application of aluminum prefabricated conveyer segments. The conveyor is part of an assembly line for K350 units.

Medial reflex of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in the annual years in the Czechoslovak and Czech daily press

The bachelor thesis deals with the historical event that changed the course of Czechoslovakia in August 1968 and the subsequent occupation of the country. Specifically, it focuses on the contemporary press and how it covered the intervention of Warsaw Pact troops on the anniversary days of the invasion. The period under study is as delineated on the individual anniversary days of the entry of Warsaw Pact troops into Czechoslovakia. It is therefore 21 August 1969, 21 August 1970 and so on, up to 21 August 2000. The periodicals analysed are Rudé právo and Právo, Mladá fronta and Mladá fronta Dnes, Svobodné slovo, Lidové noviny and Nová svoboda. The main part of the thesis is the analysis of selected periodicals from which texts are selected that directly or indirectly mention the occupation. In this way, the thesis shows how the way of reporting on the events of August 1968 has changed over the years.

"Katolická akce" as a tool of communist propaganda for christians in Czechoslovakia in 1949-1951

The aim of this thesis is to show the specific elements of propaganda that the communist regime used to speak to Christians in Czechoslovakia in the years 1949- 1951 using the so-called Catholic Action. This movement was a tool of the communist regime that wanted to subjugate the Catholic Church and use it for its own purposes. Catholic Action was artificially maintained for almost two years and used in the press primarily as a supposed mouthpiece for all Catholics. Eventually, it disappeared from the pages of the newspapers. This thesis describes selected elements of propaganda using specific examples from periodicals of the time. The results can help us to gain insight into the mindset of the former communist regime.

Elements of Propaganda in the Image of the Chernobyl Disaster in Czechoslovak Press

On 26 April 1986, the worst nuclear accident in human history took place at Chernobyl in Ukraine. In addition to the massive loss of human lifes (it is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people died indirectly as a result of radiation), the accident had devastating effects on nature far and wide. In the first part of my thesis, I use literature to describe the reality of how the accident actually occurred and what its consequences were. Then, through an analysis of articles in the Czechoslovak press of the time (Rudé právo - the central daily of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia; Týdeník aktualit - published in Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Novosti Press Agency), I present a comprehensive picture of how the Chernobyl accident was presented to Czechoslovak readers in comparison with reality. The depiction of the accident is also examined in contemporary Czechoslovak television coverage. In order to compare the depiction of the accident in the West, I further analyze articles in The New York Times. Part of the thesis also focuses on an examination of the archival holdings of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to refute or confirm the hypothesis that there is evidence of instructions to journalists on how they should write about the crash.

Design and construction of a hydraulically similar experimental circuit for the veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation

The main concern of this study is extracorporeal oxygenation and its usage in the context of hydraulic resistance. There are two types of extracorporeal circulatory support me- thods: ECMO(=Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), that is used, if hearth or lungs functionality is not suicient, and CPB(=Cardiopulmonary bypass), which is used during open heart surgery. In theorethicall part of this thesis we learn about human body, tech- nology of ECMO and basic knowledge of hydrodynamics and solid mechanics. In practical part we observe the hydraulic impact of oxygenator, comparing pressure waves, their time dilatation and pressure drops, whie using lowpass filter for signal filtering.

Propaganda in Sport: The exploitation of athletes by the Nazi regime

This thesis deals with the misuse of the phenomenon of sport and athletes themselves for the purposes of Nazi propaganda. The thesis is introduced by the theoretical grounding of the phenomenon of sport in society, its political significance and the relationship between the media and sport. The term propaganda, its history and typology, and types of propaganda are also introduced. The chapter then turns to the topic of Nazi propaganda itself - the Nazi ideology, the foundations of Nazi propaganda and the means it employed, including its focus on sport and physical culture, are introduced. After a theoretical introduction, the thesis introduces personalities and events that are subjected to a qualitative content analysis in the contemporary media (Nazi, Sudeten German and Czechoslovak) and on whose example the manifestations of propaganda will be examined. The first of these personalities to be examined is the German boxer Max Schmeling, in the context of his victory in a fight with the dark- skinned American boxer Joe Louis in June 1936, which was a fitting confirmation of the theory of white supremacy for German propaganda. Comparison of popular didactic weekly magazine for youth (Mladý hlasatel thirties/forties Vpřed forties/fifties)

Master's thesis "Comparison of popularly educational weekly youth magazines Mladý Hlasatel and Vpřed in 1930s through 1950s" contrasts two youth titles that were published around the WWII. Both titles, connected not only through the editor and father-like figure Jaroslav Foglar, were immensely popular in their time and constitute the phenomenon of journalism for children of that era. Both magazines were published during uneasy times, firstly during the dawn of the war and during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia; secondly, after ten years, during the rise of communists' influence and subsequent Communist coup d'état in 1948. This master's thesis follows my bachelor thesis "Mladý Hlasatel and it's authors" describing history, authors and specifics of this magazine. Master's thesis adds comparably detailed information about the magazine Vpřed, but its main objective is to compare the titles published in "free" era before the WWII and after it, and the ones that were published during the limited freedom of the press during the war and after the year 1948. The Propagation of Communistic Ideas in Czechoslovak Cultural Periodicals 1945 - 1948

This diploma thesis, "The propagation of communistic ideas in Czechoslovak cultural periodicals 1945 - 1948", analyzes the way in which cultural-political weekly periodicals entered the public sphere in Czechoslovakia during the years 1945 - 1948, or the period between the end of the Second World War and the installation of the monopoly of political power by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (Komunistická strana Československa - KSČ). Those three postwar years determined the future form of the restored Czechoslovakian state. This paper's research is based on the weekly periodicals Tvorba and Kulturní politika. Both of these magazines were, concerning their political profile, close to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The KSČ became the most powerful subject in the Czechoslovak political system during the postwar period. This diploma thesis describes the form of propagation of communism at the ideological level and as a means to support concrete political steps by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. Comics Rychlé šípy in Mladý hlasatel and active audience

Diploma thesis "Readers of Rychlé šípy comics and Mladý hlasatel reader's clubs as an active audience" deals with a confrontation of modern theories of the active audience and reconstruction of active fans of comics Rychlé šípy which was published in th Mladý hlasatel magazine. Theoretical part of this paper characterize this magazine for children and its time context. I focused on a development of passive and active audience concepts. There are also introduced modern approaches to active audiences like produsage, collective intelligence and transmedia storytelling which are compared in the practical part of this work with the reconstructed activity of Mladý hlasatel readers. The target is to find the common features of this moderrn approaches in their activity. I also described the audience of the Mladý hlasatel in details and its types of activity. The very last part of this thesis is dedicated to Henry Jenkins' "fandom" as it was described in his piece Textual Poachers. I was able to find there many of the similar features of Jenkins' fan and fan of Rychlé šípy, although the Jenkins' book was published in 1992 and Mladý hlasatel in the thirties of twentieth century. This diploma thesis "Freelance journalist Franta Kocourek" deals with the life and career of Franta Kocourek, the important Czechoslovak journalist in the 20. century. Diploma focuses especially on his working in the press media - prestigious periodicals of the First Czechoslovak Republic weekly magazine Přítomnost and daily newspaper Lidové noviny, not too much successful weekly magazine Groš, leaded by himself, and daily newspaper Slovenský hlas. Kocourek especially had concentrated on reportages, but he was also very universial in styles and issues. He had been writing profound reportages about growing influence of nacism besides surveys about people living at the edge of society, expert studies about the cinemotagraphy or essayes. This diploma describes Kocourek as a omnifarious personality, who had been occupying by literature, movies or public lectures except his working in media. There is also mentioned his working in the radio, where he had been improving among the best reporters at the turn of the 1930s and the 1940s, who had been going along with the Czechoslovak people during last period of the First Czechoslovak Republic, short time of the Second Czechoslovak Republic and the nazi ocupation.
