Leisure of Youth from the Viewpoint of the Family
Šmejkalová, Hana ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Pávková, Jiřina (referee)
My bachelor thesis examines leisure of children from the viewpoint of their family. This work concerns, from the viewpoint of development psychology, children in the age when they end the obligatory school attendance (children in the 9th class of basic school and children of corresponding age in the multi-annual grammar school). First part of the theoretical part of my work deals with family and its role in influencing the contents of leisure of its members. Second part deals with leisure, gives its definition and looks at it from different social standpoints. The empirical part treats exploration via questionnaires made among parents. My bachelor thesis tries to answer the question, which role the family plays today in leisure of youth in our society.
Large-Surface Carbon Film Electrode - A Novel Sensor for Voltammetric Determination of Electrochemically Oxidizable Organic Compounds
Šmejkalová, Hana ; Vyskočil, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Dejmková, Hana (referee)
of the Diploma Thesis In this Diploma Thesis, the electrochemical behavior of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) was studied at a newly prepared large-surface carbon film electrode (ls-CFE) using techniques of DC voltammetry (DCV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) with the aim to develop sensitive analytical methods for its determination. Voltammetric behavior of 4-NP was investigated in the region of anodic potentials, in dependence on the pH of the medium used (realized using Britton-Robinson buffer). The optimum pH values for the determination of 4-NP were chosen as follows: pH 3.0 (for DCV) and pH 7.0 (for DPV). During anodic oxidation of 4-NP on the ls-CFE at the concentration of the analyte of 1·10-4 mol/l, the passivation of the electrode surface occurred. Thus, it was decided to record series of measurements always at a new carbon film. Using the sample of 4-NP (at the concentration of 1·10-4 mol/l), the repeatability of the application of individual carbon films was tested, with obtained RSD values of 3.7% and 3.6% for DCV and DPV, respectively. Under optimum conditions, the calibration dependences of 4-NP were measured in the concentration range from 1·10-6 to 1·10-4 mol/l, with the limits of quantification (LQs) of 1.5·10-6 mol/l (for DCV at the ls-CFE) and 4.6·10-7 mol/l (for DPV at the...
Role of the School in Connection with the (Private) Tutoring Phenomenon
Šmejkalová, Hana ; Šťastný, Vít (advisor) ; Walterová, Eliška (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to describe reference of an elementary school to private tutoring in form of one - case study, concerning second grade of a factual elementary school taken as example, from the viewpoint of all the participants of the educational process. In the course of this work the school became participant of a programme of Ministry of education, youth and sports (MŠMT) - Patterns; that's why the work is enlargened by research of the way this programme has influenced the operation of school. Basic terms are defined, like private and school tutoring, types of its organisational forms, participants of tutoring; also methodology of the research is described. The research plan was set as one-phase research with mixed- method research design. Different forms of data collection were used: the quantitative questionnaires for pupils (n=247) and qualitative interviews with the school leadership, teachers and parents (n=13). There are both types of tutoring in function at the given elementary school, private and school ones, but not in a big scale. The school tolerates private tutoring but doesn't encourage it. Nevertheless the school offers school tutoring within the framework of the project Patterns, which provides adequate help to weak pupils, but its form doesn't satisfy school or children....

Tuberculosis - history and present state in the region Central Bohemia
Jedličková, Kateřina ; Šmejkalová, Hana (advisor) ; Čelko, Alexander (referee)
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease spread all over the world. It belongs to specific inflammatory diseases and is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This bacterium was discovered in the year 1882 by Robert Koch. For his discovery he received a Nobel Prize in the year 1905 in category of Physiology and Medicine. In honour of this discovery "International Day of TB" was set for 24th March every year. This disease has had a long history and has been recently very much in the picture again, a fact which needs a continuous attention. Writing a good case report important to diagnose TB, an epidemiologic report, bacteriologic proof of the specific bacterium, other laboratory test and investigations. Since the year 1944 when Streptomycin was discovered, targeted anti- tuberculosis treatment of TB has been currently available. Today the treatment regime consists of combination of anti/mycobacterium medicines. Other important factors are prevention, regular check/ups and registration of patients. Precautions about this disease in professional and public circles plays a huge role in early diagnosis and treatment of the disease as well as a low mortality. In spite of all these facts and the progress in diagnosis and treatment of TB, TB remains a world/wide problem even in our 21st century.
Voltammetric Determination of 4-Nitrophenol at a Large-Surface Carbon Film Electrode
Šmejkalová, Hana ; Vyskočil, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Dejmková, Hana (referee)
The aim of presented Bachelor Thesis was to study an electrochemical behavior of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) resulting in the founding of optimum conditions for its determination at newly prepared large-surface carbon film electrode (ls-CFE) using DC voltametry (DCV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Voltammetic behavior of 4-NP was investigated in dependence on the pH of the medium (realized using Britton-Robinson buffer). As optimum pH values for voltammetric determination of 4-NP at ls-CFE in cathodic potentials region, the pH values 6.0 (for DCV) and 7.0 (for DPV) were chosen. The determinations of 4-NP at ls-CFE (at a concentration of the analyte of 1·10-4 mol/l) showed a good repeatability for both voltammetric techniques used (2.2 % for DCV and 0.4 % for DPV). Therefore, the possibility of an electrochemical regeneration of the electrode surface has not been further investigated. Under optimum conditions, the calibration dependences of 4-NP were measured in the concentration range from 2·10-6 to 1·10-4 mol/l, with limits of quantification (LQ) of 2.3·10-6 mol/l (for DCV at ls-CFE) and 1.8·10-6 mol/l (for DPV at ls-CFE). The applicability of the newly developed methods of the determination of 4-NP was verified on the model samples of drinking water, with LQ of 1.0·10-6 mol/l (for DCV at...
Social Work In Zambia
SMEJKALOVÁ, Hana
The bachelor thesis called Social Work in Zambia deals with this developing country in general and it focuses on the effects of social work performed within development projects on the quality of life of local population. The theoretical part presents several general terms associated with the issues of development, basic information about Zambia and, subsequently, the individual chapters analyze topics, such as poverty, education and social system in Zambia, healthcare and the main diseases in the country, including HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. Further, the thesis presents some basic methods used in social work and the second half of the theoretical part describes two development projects - Street Children and Adoption of Zambian children. The objective of the work was to present the form and effectiveness of social work within the two projects. The practical part used qualitative research in form of six interviews with social workers and trainees who worked in Zambia for some time; the research was supposed to answer the questions whether the social work performed within development projects improved the quality of life of individuals and of the community. The research has shown that the purpose of the two projects is an educational-preventive activity that provides at least a minimum support to the development in education and the answers to the two research questions have been as follows: The social work performed within development projects improves the quality of individual lives. The social work performed within development projects improves the quality of life of the community. The thesis seeks to highlight the current situation of development projects in Zambia and it may contribute to a better quality of social work performed in the developing world and to a higher effectiveness of development projects.
