Lantern of the Gods: Solar Deity in Ugaritic Literature; including translation of selected texts
Rýdlová, Kateřina ; Vymětalová Hrabáková, Eva (advisor) ; Roubalová, Marie (referee)
Main goal of present thesis is to compose an overall, complete, and coherent view of the solar deity's role in ancient Ugarit by detailed study of Ugaritic texts regarding Sun Goddess Shapsh, particularly focusing on images and expressions used to characterize mentioned deity. Several texts referring to solar deity are chosen for this purpose: fragments from the Baal cycle - the most extensive Ugaritic work preserved, as well as three other tables (KTU 1.100, KTU 1.107, KTU 1.161) are decided on as those are the ones most related to the Sun Goddess Shapsh. An integral part of this study is translation with commentary and detailed grammatical analysis of selected texts. The thorough study of selected texts yields portrayal of Ugaritic solar deity as a, to a certain degree, chthonic deity connecting the world of gods, men and even the dead. Ugaritic Sun Goddess Shapsh wandering through the heavens and the underworld daily, acts in the name of El, the supreme deity, as the omniscient protector of order, symbol of justice and royal might. Non-Baalic texts furnish other aspects of sun goddess in particular: bond with horses (1.100) and her capabilities of treating the wounds of snake bite (1.107).

Rydlová, Kateřina ; Kopečný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Šelleng, Dalibor (referee)
Criminal recidivism is one of the key issues that criminology deals with. By finding a way to eliminate or at least reduce criminal recidivism we would extensively reduce overall crime rates. That is why it is important to continue in examining the causes of recidivism and the efforts of its reducement, and to develop and increase the knowledge in this sphere in accordance with the constantly evolving and changing society, so that we can react flexibly to the changes. The goal of this thesis is to show the historical development of the institute, the causes of recidivism, and the possible ways of prevention. In the first chapter I explain the term and different concepts of criminal recidivism. In the second chapter I summarize the historical development of the legislation of recidivism in our country. Chapter three focuses on the current legislation of recidivism. Based on different circumstances, recidivism can be the reason for a stricter punishment. Chapter number four deals with the causes and predictors of recidivism. Generally speaking, we can divide the causes to external influences, internal influences, their motivation and finally, the way that the rest of the society perceives them. Lastly, chapter number six I talk about the current criminal rates and criminal recidivism in the Czech...

Rýdlová Kateřina: Alkaloids Narcissus 'Dutch Master' (Amaryllidaceae) and their biological activity III. Diploma thesis 2017. Charles university in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Botany and Ecology. The aim of this work was isolation of compounds from the selected fraction ND 3 - 5 obtained by column chromatography of a Narcissus 'Dutch Master' alkaloid extract. Preparation of the extract and its column chromatography was performed by Mgr. Daniela Hulcová as a part of her doctoral study. Two substances NDM-1 and NDM-2 were isolated from fraction ND 3 - 5 by column chromatography and preparative TLC. The structures were determined as (+)-masonine and (+)-homolycorine on the basis of NMR, GC-MS analysis, optical rotation and their comparison with literature data. Isolated alkaloids were tested on inhibitory activity against human erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase, plasma butyrylcholinesterase and prolyloligopeptidase. Activity of alkaloids was expressed as IC50 values: (+)-masonine (IC50 AChE = 305 ± 34 μM, IC50 BuChE = 229 ± 24 μM, IC50 POP = 314 ± 34 μM), (+)-homolycorine (IC50 AChE = 63.7 ± 4.3 μM, IC50 BuChE = 151 ± 20 μM, IC50 POP = 173 ± 41 μM). In comparison with standards of galanthamine (IC50 AChE = 1.710 ± 0.1 μM, IC50 BuChE = 42.3 ± 1.3 μM),...

The diploma work "The significance and possibilities of physical activites in preschool period" is formatted by 9 chapters. The aim ofthe work is to show possibilities ofhow to use motion activities in preschool period and to show the importance of organized and spontaneous motion. The first chapter is focused on specialities of chilď s evolution in preschool period. The second chapter describes the historical evolution of opinions on the import'lIlce of motion in chilďs life (children at the age of seven). The third chapter shows the views of selected present specialists. Than I describe selected problems connected with the lack of motion activities. The next chapter c10ses the theoretical part of the work analysing possibilities ofmotion activities in contemporary kinder garden. The sixth chapter analyses the results of qualitative research focused on teacher's opinions on motion activities in preschool period. The next part describes 3 case studies of kinder garden children where motion stimulative program was applicated. The last chapter focuses on ČT (Cz ech TV) project "Exercise with the bear". The main aim of the project, as weH as of the whole diploma work, is to enable to participate on motion activities to aH children.
